Title: Have to release this
Post by: kallesetae on November 06, 2007, 06:17:53 AM
TaxiRollBoosting

I got this simply idea when i thinked this: how could i tap boost button with best/fastest way, to get best boosts.

Think this: as fast as u tap boost button ("H" usually) is as better boost
Then think, how many taps is one roll of ur mousewheel? -Like 20
Couple of rolls = very many taps.

So... change controls so you have mousewheelup or down button in boost button (horn).

Then speed, boost as normally but do it with mwheel button.

You also can use it to get height to wall without packer. When you do boost on ground and boost again when land with mousewheel rolling, it gets 2-5times higher boost in the second boost. So you can jump to higher walls / boost targets.

Scared of losting my stunts which i landed allready

Isn't there a limit of boosts you can do in a specific time (cause I believe this is an old idea)? I thought there had to be a short interval between each boost. I might be very wrong here though.

I don't got SA to check though, but I would be interested to see this method confirmed by someone else.

Yes there is normally, I tried to tap really fast my boost button and there is no way to go faster in the next boost, always with a small amount of time between two boosts. Well might give it a shot when I open my SA.

kallesetae, do you use FL off? If so, could anyone try this with FL on?

I think that might be it...

Someone found this in VC, another way to do it is to use turbo on your gamepad if you have one. But the idea kinda sucks imo...

Old but nice find (in SA), I really hate people who exploit methods of stunting to land "better" stunts.

^What do you mean? Like using the mousewheel to boost better? I dont agree with you, it just raises the minimum standard is all, hard stunts will still be hard stunts

Also...like Tackleberry Im curious to see if this is something that works with FL on

Its the same shit as in VC, more fps allows you to have more chances to input data. Thats why you get a better RADS in VC/SA with FL off. (At least thats how Nitzkit explains it) Same thing could apply here.

^And in turn that is why the slowdown cheat allowed for people to get massive heights previously in taxi stunts....we have just found a way to do it without the slowdown cheat....but to the same effect, I think

okay seriously, fuck all this controversy. from now on i'm gonna stunt how i fuckin feel like it. new stunts or old, fuck it, i'm gonna land whatever spots i want. im gonna aim purely for MY style to MY liking, i simply could not give a shit about what you people think.

FL on, FL off. whats the fucking difference. RADs method, yes or no? fuck that, i'm doing both. this new fandangled taxi boost aid? hell, i haven't tried it and i probably won't because i wouldn't be used to it, but i really don't care about people using it.

okay okay, heres how i set up iBSMs: i use s0beit. heres how i set up CSMs: i use the 'bring last car to me' feature of the USCM. OH NO, I'M DOING IT WRONG. yeah? well fuck you, i'm NOT doing it wrong. i'm doing it EASIER. i get the same fucking results you would if you busted your ass using monsters and packer. by the time you have your stunt set up, i would have landed it and moved on.

rant fucking over. please, bitch about my way of stunting. at least i'm not modding.

Exactly like I thought, another reason why it's so different to stunt with FL off.

Its a different way of stunting, as long as people are happy to say what settings they had for certain stunts it doesent matter. People will be able to see the context in which the stunt was achieved....

I just tried it, San Andreas does not seem to recognize it though, I'll just have to use a mouse, I've got one downstairs, so I'll try that tomorrow!

Roll slowly, doing it fast only gives 1 boost

EDIT: Practice by rolling up while and foot and scroll through your weapons
