HI im done editing my new movie in vegas 5, but i have a problem with rendering it, chause it`s a bitch to do it and get a great result og the quality and size, so im wondering if anyone can tell me how i should render it, what codec i should use, what quality and other stuff.

I had the same thing happen Madman. Got my edit ready, fired up the encoder...vid came out to 850meg. Decided against uploading that. A bit of tinkering and I got the quality to size ratio nice.

Good to hear the vid's coming...will certainly have a peek when it's up.

I first render a video in 640 x 480 without any compression.  It creates a huge file so you have to make sure you have plenty of space.  Don't try playing this file because it will appear chopping because of the enormous size.  

After it's done rendering, I open it in DrDivx or Virtualdub and apply the codec of my choice.

Video Vegas just dosen't seem good for rendering codecs.

No, there's not a hell of a lot  of codec choice. But I've almost always gone with WMV...which I can do with Video Vegas.

Much better than Premier, I must say.
