Title: GPU cooler?
Post by: KillaMarci on September 14, 2007, 10:19:08 AM
So yea , I need one.
I just got Fear and I played it for like 30mins on the highest settings possible , it looked so nice. But then I got some weird stripes on the screen and the computer was pieping. So yea , It's about 57° in Idle , and when I play CSS around 66° , that's pretty hot isn't it? Gimme a link to a good GFX cooler

Zalman VF1000 just came out, its pretty good. Im not sure how it compares to the Thermaltake TMG ND5 8800-series but it should be good. http://www1.techpowerup.com//reviews/Zalman/ZM-VF1000LED/1 (http://www1.techpowerup.com//reviews/Zalman/ZM-VF1000LED/1)
you gotta get the VF1000 and the RHS88 together, otherwise your shit will overheat.
heres some shit for the thermaltake
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/hardwarecan...ler-review.html (http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/hardwarecanuck-reviews/2528-thermaltake-tmg-nd5-8800-series-gpu-cooler-review.html)

I would suggest the Zalman products, they will lower your temps to about 58-60C load, leaving alot of room for overclocking. 66C is fine to be honest, you even have room to overclock at that. You dont need to worry about GPU cooling until your above 77C.
btw the VF900 wont fit the 8800 series GPUs. You have a 8800GTS 320 MB right?

dude 66C is GOOD for load temps, shit mine hits 85C on a hot day. 8800's are MEANT to run hot

id say anything under 75C is good dude

45c is fine
problem is that killamarci is getting pipeing? is that artifacts? i doubt that heat reading is accurate if your getting artifacts. and if it is you BETTER RMA. I would also invest in a few extra case fans before going as extreme as a getting a GPU cooler.
