I know nothing about computers but I saw this in a classifieds magazines and I thought i'd ask. This is the ad as it was printed in the magazine:
Gaming computer for sale. 19-inch LCD monitor. 3.2 ghz Intel processor(64-bit cpu). 2 gigs of Geil Ultra X memory. XFX Quadro-enabled video card with 256megs DDR3 memory. 2-200 gigabyte hard drives. Chieftec case with window and "Purple Haze" in color. 520Watt modular power supply. HP DVD-burner. Extra CD-Rom drive. 5.1 surround sound card and speakers including midrange and woofer. Logisys gaming mouse (lighted) and IBM Blackjack keyboard. Windows x64 (64 bit version) with other software and games. $800.00 or best offer.
Then there was contact information. So whadaya think? Is that good enough for SA and a whole bunch of other crap? Is it worth it?

Sounds good to me.

LOL
QUADRO FX ROFL
THATS A WORKSTATION COMPUTER NOT A GAMING COMPUTER
Look for GeForce graphics-card based computers.
Is there a link or something?
-
No link, it's in a small magazine called "The Northwest Georgia Trader", it has no website.
-
sounds alright to me.
-
lol it's very good in my opinion.
-
Yeah, but brandon knows his stuff though. So you should listen to him when he goes LOL!!!!.
-
Very nice, I'd buy this for 800$.

I agree with him, GeForce is the shit.
EDIT: But $800 ain't too bad for a computer like that. (I don't know how much other computers like that cost in your area though).
-
NEVER get Quadro Graphics cards, those are for like non gamers. If you want a good Graphics card, go for the GeForce Series
-
get that pc and buy a new GFXC from the Geforce 7600 GT

Sounds good.
But it might have been sold allready i'll have to see
-
quadro? thats not a gaming pc.
800€ is to much for it imo. You should go to a shop and get all single parts yourself - you will get under 500€ with a bit of luck with MUCH better hardware...
-
Is the graphics card the only problem? If I changed the quadro to a GeForce would it be good? Because I think I can get him down to $600 if he still has it.
EDIT: Ok, he just e-mailed me back and it seems he's not had any luck with the computer
His e-mail:
I've been out of town a good deal and missed several people that wanted to buy it.
So yes, it's still for sale.
Before we go further, let me say a couple of things up front, since I've had these things pop up several times.
I won't ship this computer out of the U.S. and definitely not to Nigeria. To keep things simple, I'll only sell it "locally", meaning to folks in a normal driving radius.
I won't sale the computer on credit.
I don't take post-dated personal checks and will only take cash.
I also won't let the computer be taken for a "trial month" of use before purchase.
I don't provide a year's worth or any other kind of guarantee. I'm not a computer store, just a guy selling a computer that he doesn't need.
I will let you come to my home and look the computer over and see that it is functional and "try it" before you buy it.
Within reason of course..... I had a guy that wanted to spend an entire weekend with me playing video games on it before he bought it.
I hope that I don't sound like a butt-hole, but you wouldn't believe some of the things that people come up with.....
I also hope that I haven't put you off. This is a great computer, but I recently purchased a more powerful one with a larger monitor.
I'm selling this one to recoup some of my original investment and, hopefully, to place it with someone that will enjoy it as much as I did.
It is a great computer and deserves better than for me to put it in my closet or in storage..
As to price, you've seen my price in the ad, but the price is negotiable. What's your offer?
I now think $700 is what I can get but I only have $326 right now and it will take a couple weeks to get the rest, so he might pass it up. I plan to tell him that the only problem is the graphics card if that is true, is there any more problems? And how much does a GeForce graphics card cost?
Quick people answer these questions or he might toss me in with the pile of loonies!

just build your own computer, ask a few people on forums to build you a pc on a budget, get all the parts separate and the store can put it together for you.
