Title: Computer Troubles
Post by: Rocka on June 28, 2007, 10:49:54 AM
Okay, well basically, my computer's been acting like a shithead in the past few weeks. At random times, it makes this high pitched noise, that just doesn't seem to stop for a while. While I would have Mozilla open, it would be somewhat quiet, and then if I opened up MSN, the pitch would get louder. It's not coming from my speakers, because I've turned them down, and I could still hear it. So it's coming from somewhere inside the PC.

Then also, my screen flickers from time to time, for no apparent reason. It's like as if it's just gonna die.

Does anyone know how to fix these problems?

getting a new comp might help...

it may be that your monitor is dying, for hte screen flickering.

and the high pitched noise... I dunno

Might wanna open your case...make sure there aren't any small animals dying inside it.

But seriously...check.

For your monitor, it could be your graphics card overheating or your monitor dying on you.. The high pitch sound, it might be coming from your internal computer speaker.. What's causing it? I dunno about that..

I'll be getting a new computer soon, yeah. And Val, there's no dying animal inside it.  My PC is a bit cramped back there, there's not much room for it to cool off when it starts to heat up. Weird thing is, it's usually when I first turn it on, at the beginning of the day, like right now. Last night, it didn't have any problems.

^^  Anyway.. When your're using the comp, you should open the side case and turn on the air-conditioning.. Either that or you could lean a huge exhaust fan at the side of your comp.. That should cool things down..

So basically, this happens because my PC overheats sometimes?

Or, you have a fuckload of dust inside your PC.

Take of the HSF and clean the CPU with compressed air, same with your GPU and ram slots.
