Title: Better Color Corrections for VC and LC
Post by: GT-7 on May 11, 2007, 06:45:53 AM
Ok, VC's color correction isin't  a big change but LC's change is a quite big. Here a directions, and I made these with Sony Vegas 7:

VC's Color Correction:

1. Go to Video FX -> Color Correction (Vegas have 2 Color Correction -sections, so its the second one)

2. Add Studio RGB to Computer RGB to your clip.

3. Then put into the opening window these settings:

VC one doesn't look much different to me but the LC one does. But it makes LC look cartoonish so I won't be using this.

Increasing Gamma and Saturation alone has never been and will never be a good color correction method.
I'm not gonna argue about it, you'll never see some professional editors do that.
Just know that it might look good in a screenshot but horrible when rendered.

Ok, you have already told youre opinion. So dont get crazy just if Blaze likes it. Everyone have theyre own opinion of this. If you dont like it, you can tell the better settings or just post your own settings here so everybody else can use them. So, shut up!

It's general knowledge to all experienced editors that aggressive Gamma and Saturation settings like that is a no-go.
Tutorials should be written by people who knows what they're talking about and the outcome should be as natural as possible, so they can play with the settings afterwards to find the settings they want to use.
I have posted my own tutorial (duh) with that intention in mind and it's exactly that intention that makes a tutorial good.
I could've posted a tutorial for the colors in Kamikaze but they're not natural and isn't proper tutorial material because of just that.
As i said it might look good in the screenshot but try to render it and you'll see it looks horrible in most peoples eyes.
The tutorial should fit the overall opinion, not the subclass of beginners that likes goofy looking colors.
And please, if you're gonna do a tutorial, do a tutorial about something new instead of one with a worse outcome than the original one.

Shut your myself yourself, we're having a normal mature discussion which doesn't mess up the first post which is were the tutorial is and what people will be looking at for help.

Maybe were not expericenced editors , Personally i like this tut. I Dont care if "It's general knowledge to all experienced editors that aggressive Gamma and Saturation settings like that is a no-go", If i like it, I Like it.

GT-7, If he doesent like it, Its his problem, not yours

1. Bunch of bullshit, it's an adjustment, not an effect.
2. Doesn't stop him from checking the tutorial section... you know 5 seconds of research.
3. That would say a lot about him as an editor.
4. Quoting the last post is retarded, we know you're replying to it.

3. I was comparing his colors to the overall color adjustments i've seen in gaming videos not just mine, that's your own conclusion and i'd rather see a video without his color adjustment than with.
4. Doesn't make it less retarded.
