I think I'm right in saying that the last value in a resoloution is the color depth (640 x 480 x 32) Right, this has been going on for ages with my new PC. Vice City can run 640 x 480 x 32 fine. But anything above that, it's always x 16 and not x 32. The res I'm at now is 1280 x 960 x 16. Any ideas?

What GFX card do you got ?
-
XFX GeForce 6600GT
-
That's odd, it might not be your Gfx card, monitors have most input on screen resolutions.
Also, x16 isn't really too much different from x32.
-
yeah it is lol, at least to me, its likely your monitor or bad video drivers.
-
Well is there a way to force the game to run in 32?
-
Right click on dekstop > Settings > Advanced > [Name of your Gcard tab in top right] > Screen resolutions & Refresh rate > add
and then just add rhe resolution, it will say:
Width: |1440| pixels
Height: |900| Pixels
Colour quality: |32 bit|
(You edit/change the parts that have | [shit] | )

I had the same problem in SA. Update your drivers from nvidia:
www.nvidia.com
Btw: the 6600 GT is an awesome card, best bang for the buck!

I'm about to download the drivers and if that doesn't work, try Simon's method. If that doesn't work, I have a fucked monitor.

My method will work 100% without any issues...and you're going to install new drivers stupid decision if it goes wrong.
