I was just mucking about with this tank bump and i bumped off towards the landing but i only tried it once, so im not even sure its possible

I'm pretty sure many people have tried that, especially after seeing the credits of Burn Trap. I know I've tried it like crazy. Very difficult.

Theftman nearly did it in the credits of burn trap.

You have to hit the edge of the BB like NK did in dedicated, takes a lot of precision and timing or you can hope to get a lot of height so you don't have to fly forward so fast to reach it.
Far from impossible, just bad ass difficult.
