PSP Dudes, will PSP 2.80 be able to downgrade to 1.50 ever? Because if not, I'm gonna sell PSP Seriously, If there will be PSP 2.80 downgrader, I can wait for it, no matter, when it will be released.

Yes there will be one. I downgraded my PSP from 2.6 and now a 2.71 downgrader is released and maybe even a 2.8.

Its the version... the original PSP wheh it was out in the US was a 1.0, the 1.5 updater then came out adding more features (we use this for homebrew ) then as time went on sony added more to various updates and now 2.81 is the higest out... hacker teams are hot on sonys trail downgrading (quite dangerously) psp's i got hit by a faulty downgrader file and ended up with a bricked (never gonna work, usefull as a brick) PSP. So i bought a new one.

1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 2.10., 2.40, 2.50., 2.60, 2.70, 2.71, 2.80, 2.81
If you want to play downloaded games, you must have version 1.50. But if you have larger than 1.50, you can't put it to 1.50. BUT some PSP hackers made downgraders, so that you can downgrade to 1.50, but this is only possible for 2.71 and lower(for now) and you need LCS for it.

the 2.71 one doesnt need GTA
Also you would need the unpatched GTA LCS
If the UMD had a 2.00 update it's unpatched, if it says 2.60 Updater, it's patched and wont work.

You only need LCS for the 2.5/2.6 downgrader. Then just install devhook to emulate two firmwares (right now the limit is 1.5-2.6-2.71) and play your downloaded games from your memory stick , you at least need a 512mb card , 2gb is probably best for price.

I was able to downgrade my psp from 2.81 to 1.50 by pure luck.
i can't explain how i did as it was only alot of luck.
What hardware version you got? Non-Hardware 2.8x can be downgraded. Also there are modchips which allow you to use any homebrew with 2.8x and above

Yes, and there is no Automatic upgrading. If you want to have version 1.50, then you have it. But if you have version 2.80, you can use internet, you have flash player, and much more, which is unable to use in 1.50. That's the bad thing

Just downgrade to 1.5 , then use devhook to emulate firmware 2.71 (which includes internet and flash) its easy.

Fox would the person to talk to as I downgraded from 2.6 , but goto pspcrazy.com and sign up at their forums and all questions you ask will be answered.

Well i was trying to get the SDK working. I wasnt sure if 2.81 would work so i simply tried to instal. Then while installing it crashed - i removed the AC adepter and the usb cable and plugged it in again shortly after. After i did that about 5 times it said there is no firmware installed on boot - i was like OMFG. Its been the day i bought my psp (1 week ago) and i allready bricked it. Then i hae had the idea to download a BFM bios but i wasnt able to find one. Then i heard that the Demo UMD has a Firmware too. I simply put it in the drive. Next time i started the PSP it said 1.0 as firmware - Internet and Flash player still working. But i needed 1.5 so i upgraded it from a BFM Upgrader using my 512 mb MS.
Next time i turned on my psp homebrew worked, internet was gone etc.
I m so freaking happy. I wanna test it with a friends psp too as this is probably the first 2.81 downgrade.
PS: Not sure but i got NO TA board and also the case said another firmware (2.6) . Maybe they upgraded in store so i only used the older still existing firmware.
//Edit: Impakt: I said something different than you I said i downgraded my psp from 2.81 successfully. Also i was reminding that it depends on hardware.
