Ok, so i just started using sony vegas 6 and i still don't have the basics yet. I'm trying to get written text on a playing video and not seperate like the title(Pretty newb huh?). I'm also trying to work out how to make the video go 2x or 10x fast. Ty

I use Premiere, but I believe you need to create 2 paralel timelines and place the video in the first one and title on the second one, so that you get the overlay effect.
And for second...I believe there should be some kind of playback properties or something...Dunno, as I've said, I don't use Vegas.

to put text go to the media generator and slap on some text of your choice, change the background color number to 0 so it's transparent
to make it go faster or slower either right click and add velocity (adds a line wich you move up or down) or right click and change the playback rate ( more than 1000 is faster and less is slower, or the other way around i cant remember )

Thx,
Wait, i can't find the background colour number. I can only see R G B A thingy.
EDIT : I have another problem, after i rendered my vid and i compressed it with virtual dub my video just goes wacko with multi couloured pixels popping everywhere and that usually don't happen.
-
My advice is to render it to be WMV. Virtualdub is just for rendering raw fraps clips.
-
Oh, ic..but its 1.2g after i render it, its only 5min

EDIT: I found out how to make the generated text show now . My final problem is about the compression.
-
yeah i have some prblems with copresiion too
Anyone plz help
-
Come oon...
-
well, my rendering settings are custom:
best quality on the first tab, then in the video tab i turn it down to about... 68%
if you dont understand thats cool, i cant explain things very well
-
I'm confused..but now that doesn't matter, i have another problem.
I start to render my video and it finishes at an amazing speed like 1 sec for 2% and then when i play it, it says its 50seconds longs when it should be 10min. I play it and its just blank with no music until it ends. I rendered it over and over again but nothing happeneds

hmm did you try resetting vegas?
-

EDIT:It works now for some reason...this is so weird...
-
reset by exitting the program and turning it back on
oh well problem solved?
