[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']Okay this does not really go in the Graphics Section because they are not finished works plus it is a poll too, but mainly because I did not find a proper category to put it in.
My question:
Where should I put the highlight?
A. In front and over the wheel.
B. Behind the wheel.
Remember the wheel is going to be animated.
I need help deciding which looks better. I am more partial to the highlight behind because the orange glow on the edges over the wheel look neat. But I want to know what you guys would prefer. Thanks.
Payton
Oops I messed up the poll.[/span]

Behind it, and try lowering the opacity of the glare a little cause it's VERY like.. THERE.
-
try making it a bit smaller too, but i like it behind the wheel.
-
Behind the whell is better.
-
What they said ^^^ I prefer behind the wheel and a little dimmer.
-
and a little dimmer.
x2
Ye, make it behind the wheel. :)
-
I agree with all them
behind is better
-
Yep, behind.

[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']Thanks guys. I am getting more of a direction to go in now. Also Eric what did you mean by make it smaller? The width of the UserBar or the scale of the wheel?
Also if you guys can give me some other suggestions too. Like on the model itself. I think I should make the brake disc smaller to show more of the spokes.
Or what about the inner lip which is suppose to be a gloss black shine with a polished outer lip, but the lip almost looks indistinguishable in the small images. Should I go ahead with a full chrome material?
[span style=\'color:#FFFF00\']Here is the Chronology of the wheel for reference:[/span][span style=\'color:#00FF00\']
First render getting the Brakes done. Rendered with original Tire from PCJ600. Notice lumps in the tire with MeshSmooth.
First try at the Tire. Noticeable gaps.
Final Tire scaled to Brakes but without Sidewall. Notice gap between Innerlip and Tire.
Full Tire. Sidewall created and fit. Innerlip scaled and fit to Tire.
Spokes modeled and added.
First render with everything modeled.
Same render, Second angle.
High Gloss Black added to Innerlip. Outer lip with Lighter Chrome. Spokes and Center HUB Gunmetaled.
Final render with all materials. Brakes match color scheme on Darkness' bike. Entire Wheel is supposed too.
Remember I am taking ques off of Darkness' Papaya looking yellow bike that I did.
Thanks again guys
Payton
P.S. Please nothing about changing the tread pattern. That was already a headache to make. Especially when I kept getting gaps between each section and had to keep undoing the meshsmoothing and bend modifiers to get back and fix....Complicated process. And I still had to make the side wall from a completely separate tube geometry. Anyway, suggestions?[/span]
-
Oh god green doesnt go with red/orange/yellow! X(
-
duuuuuuuuuuuuude that is 1 sweet wheel... teach me... or give me a tut site :D
-
Yeah, that really looks sweet :o
-
OMFG! Those wheels were sweet! :)
-
dude u should change the colours, they remember my puke.
-
[span style=\'color:#00FF00\']dude u should change the colours, they remind me of my puke.[/span]
[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']Ummm....Not changing colors because that is a personal preference.
Please_Stop_Me, please be more constructive with your criticism and not offensive alright.

Behind the wheel is better, but the color scheme is bad, it makes my eyes hurt :(

[span style=\'color:#00FF00\']so, Dear payton just lower the opacity of the glare and put it under the wheel, that's it.[/span]

[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']:D @ Please_Stop_Me.
Okay everyone finished. Glare was reduced. I hope it is enough.

its just awesome (except the colours) the "moving" wheels its awsome but you should put the text over the glare imo.
-
[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']Well I left the text behind the glare because I have seen most UserBar do that to simulate the 3D effect of the Bar.
I can easily move it though. Anyone else?
Also [span style=\'color:#0000FF\']BJ[/span], while you are here. What beige?
Payton[/span]
-
lol, that scared the shit out of me, you know that?
First, awesome wheel, you've got skill.
Second, I was referring to the beige/cream in your avatar. Maybe you intended it to be invisible in that area, I'm using IE.
-
[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']Ah, that might be the problem. Let me check.
 You were not expecting me to address you so quickly.
Payton[/span]
-
No, I didn't XD BTW, I think it's this monitor that is making it look beige.
-
[span style=\'color:#FF0000\']Is the avatar better now?
Thanks to Aries for giving me another reason to loathe Internet Explorer. It does not support PNGs with transparency, so I used the fake transparency technique.
Payton[/span]
-
Yep, It's better now.
-
[span style=\'color:#00FF00\']Okay I figured out something. Everyone who keeps seeing my colors as being almost too much sometimes, has to remember something.
I have a $3000 Notebook with a "17 LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor capable of 1440 x 900 resolution easy, so my colors do not show up as high contrast and as saturated as on some of everyone else's CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitors that can adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation of the display of their monitor.
Also not everyone has my ATI Mobility 9700. I can see more details than some people essentially, so to me it will look right, but to others it may not due to the resolution and settings of their monitors.
To me all my images look as they should be, but to others it may not. My images are intended for high quality video output. I try to make sure everyone can see my work as I do, but there is only so much I can do to make it compatible with everyone.
Hehe, I am typing this and I am drunk for the first time ever in my life and I am fifty six.
Woot.
Well, that is all I had to say. Goodnight all. I am going to be paying for this in the morning. I mean paying for the drunk part. Not the post. :D
Here is a new UserBar that I am working on that is in an unfinished state. Yes, it is meant to be replusively ugly. That is the point. Else SuperSize Me would not be the theme. I like the radiated McDonald's fries the best. :D

The rotating wheel is awesome.
I'm starting to like the vivid colors, they fit you.
-
I think behind...mhmm..but i'm not so sure anyway it's your decision:D Hehe
