hmm I made this site as a 'portfolio'( <-- dutch, too lazy too find the english word) for my 2d/3d works. check it out.
(the site is in dutch, but I'd like some comments on the layout)
I was aiming for a simple, clean layout.
normal version (http://marien.l3d.nl/template.php?t=normaal)
lighter version (http://marien.l3d.nl/template.php?t=licht)because my parents said it wasn't readable at all on their screens <_< (and some others too)
If you have ideas for more color schemes, tell me, it's easy to add now I have the pages coded right. cya'll

made for 1024x768 in firefox, all the sizes are absolute so it will not aut-adjust to your screen resolution. I would make a larger resolution version if I had te ability to test it. the only way to do that it to craete it at school, where the screens are a little newer than mine. But I won't probably, because I don't have the rights to test it over there.(ports blocked :@ )
Also, if you encounter problems in IE I don't really care except when they're really big. IE sucks anyway :P

The images look good, however the lack of contrast on the normal version of the site is extremely hard on the eyes. I recommend changing the colors around so that text is easilly viewed. Alot of moniters have trouble with viewing sites that have low contrast between content and background, so it's very important to make text easilly readable. I think if you used white text on that site everything would be much easier to read, and you'd still be able to keep the over all red feel of the site.
