I don't get some guys. They audi to editing crews and they come all like "oh wow, i edited it in 2h, this is nowhere near the best i can do"

If you're auditioning to something and you edit a video in 2h, how can we expect you to be compromised with your project?

The Aud edit im currently on, I'm focusing more on showing my experience & variety with the effects. I can do a clean edit but I thought that would be better showing even though it's not an overedit.
Would that be a good idea?
