I invited him for editing purposes when I started the crew, though that's probably not going to be needed until the PC version comes out I've found his opinion on things very valuable in the past so I'd like to have him around just to get his take on things.

Hmm, might be the latest one I landed. Overall, around 20-25days.
I don't consider it as equal, since there were more opportunities in SA and VC (taxi boost etc..). It's different, has a little map (city) but still, it has potential. Maybe a lil more than IV, but I couldn't judge, since I was not stunting there. Let's hope we find other methods and stuff :P

2 weeks or something on that bump 2 bridge. I was trying it before the backflip method was found though. So after that maybe 3 or 4 days trying to stick the landing.
VC and SA are way more stunt friendly, due to the fact that you can turn while you do a wheelie and it has less details in their maps so it's easier to find walls to wallride or ramps to jump off of. As well as the other mentioned things. But the city is really small and tight. So I'm not sure how long it'll last, for me at least.

Longest was probably about 2 hours, but I didn't end up actually landing the stunt. :(
I'm not sure if I can judge the second question quite yet, I think there's still lots of stuff to be discovered about GTA V stunting. However right now I feel like SA was the best game to stunt in so far. I don't like the backflips in the newer GTA games, they all seem kinda glitchy and weird while the physics in SA felt predictable and stable.

What are your thoughts about GTA V on the PC, do you think you will switch over to the PC or keep stunting on a xbox/ps?

I'll switch to PC or just quit V entirely if my Computer can't run it. Not sure if I'll use a keyboard or a gamepad though, as some techniques just seem more comfortable with a controller, such as adjusting your glide.

I'm curious to know how I stack up, these stunts are about my "good enough for a montage" level.

Honestly, it's not enough yet. Reason is that it's not significantly more complicated or creative than any of the YouTube stunters out there (despite their use of boosters and such). From a skill standpoint, when you can land most of the stunts from V/Omega easily, I'd say you're ready to start landing stunts for an audition :cc_detective:.

I've seen that video at least 10 times (Slayers wallride at the end is one of my favorites), it's one of the videos that got me into stunting (I'd never done it before that) and I think I could land most if not all of the bike and plane stunts, but I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't be with great difficulty.
The BMX and car stunts on the other hand... I'd have a better chance at curing Ebola.
My biggest issue at the moment is finding stunts people haven't already done, I like to be original but all of the cool spots have been done. I'm yet to see any Faggio action though, so I'm thinking about taking that up as my main gig, that way I shouldn't have that issue.

I can find a bunch of pretty weak spots, good for having some fun, or practice. But I have a tough time finding any new stand out "holy shit, that was amazing" spots.
There's obviously a few hidden gems out there, but most of the awesome spots have been nailed already. And I need at least 20-30 before I can make any decent length videos.

That's exactly how I got into one of the more respected crews in the Vice City stunting era. I had been stunting for a while but once I found a niche (pizzaboy/faggio) and started stunting with it. I was able to get an in because I found creative technical stunts that hadn't been done before.
GTA:V has a huge array of vehicles, it has a massive map. There is a lot of potential for speciality/niche technical stunts. You just gotta get creative :)
Once GTA:V comes to PC, recording stunts will become much easier. We are going to see more and more GTA:V crews pop up with different skill sets. Some of the guys in Nomad Union have been doing this kind of stuff for almost a decade now, they're a tough act to follow.

It was definitely the best crew of 2013/2014 in my opinion. Past experiences definitely helped, just from the perspective of knowing the difference between the good and the bad, but you really do need to relearn the way you approach the physics in this game, so the past can only take you so far. We haven't been super active since SUPERNUVA though, and the mega powerful "Hakuchou" DLC bike was released just as SUPERNUVA was finished; as a result of these two factors, particularly the new bike, I think Evolve Stunting is the better crew at the moment. Maybe that'll change when we ramp back up for PC :ninja:.
I think it will last for years, and continue to be more popular than any GTA game before it. As for the forum's activity, hard to say. I think once the forum sees the true technical potential of this game outside of huge big airs (especially in some upcoming videos before PC), interests will peak considerably. Especially when people finally get their hands on the PC version and realise that gliding isn't actually some magical ability that makes every bump simple. As for the game getting dry... let's just say I've found thousands of spots already. As long as you think outside of the box, and take advantage of GTA V's specific features, I don't think you could ever run out of spots in this game. I still hope that people will move on once the next game in the series is released, whenever that is, because staying on the same game for a decade is exhausting to the point of severe lethargy.
No, because we're really waiting on the PC version, and we're all quite busy. When the PC version comes out, I think we'll see another surge in motivation, and after that it all depends on our real life situations (we're not teenagers any more :D).
I've tried literally hundreds of stunts, so my average is wildly inconsistent. I land easy stunts in 30 minutes, hard stunts in hours, and nigh on impossible stunts in days, sometimes even months (with breaks, of course). My most difficult landed stunt took approximately 80 total hours to land, and it's unreleased. I've spent longer on some that I still haven't managed to land :(.

We had an edge before but it's not too hard to catch up. There are others out there with just as much patience as us (with more motivation to stunt as well). Comparison wise I'd say Evolve and VA are the only crews that can really match NU and give us a very good run for our money when it comes to competition.
I do think V will last a while. Seeing the spots we try and how horribly hard they can be, it's going to take a while before everything is landed. The spots certainly dry out quicker because there are so many people out there, but at the same time so little that try to find the limits. Besides new stunting methods keep being found, who knows what's next.
Not as motivated as a year ago, just waiting for PC. The reloading times for car stunts make me ignore them and bike stunts are not easy to find personally. I've been stunting a lot in VC lately and making good progress which also reduces my V time. I'm still trying stuff though.
My average stunt didn't take that long in comparison to most hardcore SA and VC (and V) stunts out there. Some took a few hours of casual trying (usually 2-3) and being clumsy with the controller. One stunt only took 8 minutes because someone challenged me to land it while he was trying it on a Twitch stream :P Most of my time has spend on trying unlanded stuff.

I honestly couldn't tell, I stay away from anything that isn't posted on this website. The youtube scene is not for me. But from what I've seen here on the forum I'd probably say NU is pretty close to the top, but people are quickly catching up. Especially when they are 14 - 18 years old spending as much time on stunting as I did back then. It's easy to fall behind, especially with such a fresh game, and one that's being constantly updated at that.
Personally V has already dried up for me, at least on console. I'm getting it on PC as well so we'll see if it sparks any new interests. I just feel stunting in the rage engine has a lot of limits, I know it doesn't have many more than we have in VC/SA, but it just feels that way to me, especially since the just go ahead and patch fun glitches or add new vehicles that just nullifies a lot of what has been done so far. And also, the city feels very, very small. Even if the map is huge, like 4/5ths of that is just mountain or lake, which is nice and all, but I miss having more buildings. Feels weird to say after IV which was too much building, but that's how I feel :D
Heck to the no, I haven't bothered to launch V on my ps3 in months. The start up is sooo slow and no spots that I'm aching to land. So I'm just waiting for PC release tbh.
Some stuns took looooong. I found a spot before we had the content creator and did everything by quicksaving. Tried it for weeks, but then we got the content creator and it became a bit more easy to adjust, cause you didn't have a minute of dead time inbetween each try. So I landed it fairly quickly after that, but still maybe 3 - 4 weeks. but that was really on and off, a more heavy duty stunt(that I actually didn't land, but whatever) was the glide spot KM eventually landed in Omega. Me, Taz and KM were trying that for like 3 days in a row 7 hours per day. I only reached the roof once, and I bailed. Some of the earlier ones though, were like 3 - 4 minutes. I think gradually over the course of our videos I spent longer and longer on each stunt.

We've only seen one modded stunt on console's so far. Didn't even get released because we spotted the guy early. I think it'll be a problem on PC, if all the console guys switch over. Hopefully it's not too ubiquitous; it would suck to have all the "true" stunting videos painted under the same brush by the greater community.
On GTAStunting, I don't think it will be a problem, because we know what we're doing. The physics of this game are entirely predictable and obvious, just like VC/SA. On YouTube, that's another story :P.

I rarely talk about stunting outside of Skype or this forum. I had one classmate 2-3 years ago that tried stunting in SA without knowing I did that stuff as well. It kind of shattered his dream that he was epic when I showed him some videos like OON :unsure: Most of my good friends do know I do this sort of stuff, and as a result they refuse to do any game that rewards patience :P
I do see RKM's videos come across now and then on a Dutch video website though, kinda fun. Most people don't understand difficulty/possibilities sadly, they just shout no life or cheats to try and feel better.

I'm not even part of NU but I wanted to tell my little story too hehe
I had recently made a couple of new friends at school who were GTA lovers and followed Machinima also (I wasn't aware of it at the moment) and one day we were at the recess and they started talking about some kind of jumps clan in GTA V and their sick stunting vid recently uploaded at Machinima. I was just silently listening to the story and in the end I was like yeah I know these guys, they even used my music in that video :mellow:
They didn't belive me at first so I had to quickly show them the forums, and join to my Soundcloud account and show them the rising plays of Prisma. They were like holy sHIT YOU'RE FAMOUS. :lol:
But I wish I would have stayed silent cause I had to explain to them whole stunting thing, plus my music. And I'm pretty lazy to explain some things to people who's not familiarized with it :P
Oh and also sometimes random people approach me at the street or club and start talking about my music :P so once again I am very thankful to NU <3

The fame is nice n all, but the reason I'm glad about that is so we can set the standards for no boosts, no timers, wrong ways, shitty slo mo use and no slipstream. Granted a lot of the youtube community ignore these facts, which is meh, fuck the casuals, but true stunters definitely get more respect.

Depends how many people on the forums make the switch. Stunting is hugely popular on YouTube, it's just a question of whether or not the forums catch up.

We will be active, the question is will the forum stop focusing purely on the older engines and accept that V is new and exciting. That does need to happen. Videos that get posted here which are not from us hardly get any comments eventhough they offer great stunts or ideas. I hope PC can change that because eventhough I like the older engines, those cannot resurrect the older days full of activity.
And apart for some newbies that look for new paths, this forum has nothing to offer for other crews out there. I mean guys like Evolve which are easily as good as us have no reason to come here. So eventhough V will be big, this forum will not benefit from it that much.

I'm not really following what's going on in V and sorry if it's going to sound like a stupid question but the pc version is bringing something new to the table or there's is no huge changes in the stunting scene right now? I'm really curious to hear you guys opinion because you already set the bar so high with the console version, i wonder if the PC version will have a considerable influence on the level of the stunts.

well, there's the editor. So videos from now on will have custom cameras and be in 60fps. but stunting itself, not that I can think of.

For me nothing changed, I even stunt with a xbox 360 controller on my PC :P

To be honest, only my motivation and dedication changed. It's more accessible, better to use with mouse-keyboard etc etc.
The editor is a huge thing, the replays are aswell, and to be honest, I've never been able to do something with a bmx. I realised that it was so much better and easier to understand with the keyboard (due to having the handle of it after SA) bike is still better with a gamepad at some point, like having a perfect glide, but with some training, I can "almost" reach my gamepad's glide.
But to answer a little more, not much has changed for the level of the stunts, but V is a lot more accessible to old GTAS stunters. That's why it's sick!

Hey guys! I'm curious about the PC version. Does it have the same replay system as the previous games?

It's not exactly the same, but pretty much yes. However you have to turn on action replay now, which is what we know from VC/SA. It's off by default and you have to turn it on everytime you start the game. Which I think is going to lead to a few landed stunts will get lost because people forgot to turn it on or whatever :lol: You turn it on with f2, and you turn it off with f3. And to save an action replay you press f1. If action replay is not on, you can press f1 to record live for as long as you want, but it'll save in 30 second increments. I haven't tried that method as much, but I'd say it's better to stick with the action replay one. That way you won't have to record every attempt. The length of the action replay depends on how complex the scene is, so when you're stunting in a city with no traffic and no other players it can go for a while. One of my longest ones so far is over a minute, so I think we're safe unless someone does like a 8 minute grind :euro: Also they get saved in the same format as IV reps, which is a .clip file, which can be a few mb large. My one minute rep is about 44mb. The .clip file is also accompanied by a small jpeg. If you want to get really tidy with the organisation of replays you could probably make custom jpegs and everything. The image serves as a little thumbnail for the replay when you use it in the in-game editor, so it's probably really handy for editors if people do it like that. :jajaja:

You've also got to be wary of the conditions that reset replay data. Loading a checkpoint in a race, bailing in a standard race (not a GTA race - you can leave your vehicle), dying, and so on. There's a laundry list of problems you need to be aware of with replays in this game, which is a shame, but they work just fine when you know the limits.

Daffy posted a topic about a V crew. I directly said I was up for it. But some members had trouble having me in, due to my past, and all these stuff, so I was let out, in the garbage. I tried as much as I could to be taken by landing stunts, showing bails, showing all the crew how dedicated I was, and how regret-full (is that the word?) I was about my past. I really wanted to have a chance to show that I'm not a bad person eventhough my past is a fucked up thingy. Some people in the crew like Simon didn't even know me back then, so their arguments were solid. I tried as much as I could to get along with everyone, stunting with rainbow, trying to talk to semen. After that I sent all my stunts, with a 200line text explaining tons of stuff about my past, and I got in, which was so fucking amazing to be honest. Now I feel like NU is my family. Like seriously, eventho I'm not here 24h/24h, they're like a family in a part of my brain.

Also glad I got in considering the fact I tried (hope I succeeded) to ruin the finisher of DSS' crew video Sanctimonium by releasing my bail off it a day before release. But that's a different story :P The first post of that topic still writes me off like a major asshole but given the circumstances I don't regret it. 10/10 IGN would do it again. I'm pretty vengeful when majorly pissed off, it's one of my weaknesses. I got in because TBV semi-confirmed my side of the story so I cannot stay mad forever at those biceps.

I just thought it would be interesting if they told what teams they've been in before, what was their main GTA game for stunting and what made them start stunting on V

I started in SA in 2007, in 2008 I released my first SA solo called Daybreak.

After that video I got invited into a SA crew called Stunting Society which I stayed in for one video which was called Connexion.

Fast forward a bit and VR turned inactive and I joined a VC crew called Devoted Pattern, which I'm still in. If you want to see videos from them just check out their section on the forums, I've been in the most recent crew videos. And sometime during DP daffy contacted me to ask if I wanted to join a V crew, which I said yes to :happy:

Found SAMP back in mid 2007. Started doing skatepark stunts in like July/August with a friend of mine. Found a few old videos of GTAS and checked the forum. My friend quit and I ended up here. Did like 2 random collabs in SA before I bought VC and got hooked. I was in a crew called HR for a short while, only ended up in one crew video somewhere in early 2008. Joined DSS somewhere in 2009 with what I recall being an audition that was purely based on 3 good stunts and the rest was garbage. I was just in time to join the crew video they said, but it still took like 6 weeks before it was released. It was called Esoteric and is still my favorite DSS normal crew video I've been in. Did quite a lot of videos with those guys, the highlight definitely being G' imo (a VCMP live video). Started stunting in IV a bit but never really got hooked. I still try it from time to time though since it's fun for a day. DSS gradually got inactive somewhere in 2012. I left, people got sad but didn't tell me, and I joined SSU. Did more SA videos with them than VC and eventhough I was never 100% active it was fun. Those are some weird people, in a good way :D At the end of DSS and somewhere in SSU I did two live videos which I'm pretty excited about (See What I Saw (and part 2), the title is a random reference to Kert's "See what I See" (which is a must watch in terms of VC history)). Braindead was definitely the best SA video I've been in, and even if it was only one stunt I'm very proud of it. I was never motivated for SA since I found VC, so to land a cool stunt like that was awesome. Made a second real solo video (my first was decent but nothing worth showing) called Dreamtime, a taxi only video which I guess is my speciality. Won solo of the year because it was in between Barney years. Also editing of the year eventhough it took me less than a day total, which I found weird but I wouldn't change much if I could redo it apart from a few bug fixes (went away for a week and wanted a 2013 release). SSU made one final video for which I had nothing and that felt bad. In my defense I did try hard for it but either lost my spots and/or edged them continiously (clowns pocket top "prec" p2b for example). SSU slowly faded away into the hall of fame and I decided to audition for MO. Got in, and now we're here. Going to make another VC solo before I stop with it for a while except for some remakes and crew videos. Want to focus more on V but in order to do that I need less projects/videos at once. I will always be a VC stunter. Most of the random youtube folk knows me because of my V stunts, but those stunts are much easier than the average stunt in my taxi solo imo. I still like them though but they are not hard by today's V standards. At the time they were somewhat decent.
The reason I joined NU was because of well, inactivity of SSU mixed with the fact that it was something new. Had an incident with some DSS people which almost prevented me from getting in. Some of the members never really talked but the Skype chat was so active during the early days. Every week more and more possible spots were found and limits were being hammered at. I never imagined it would be possible to do the average stunt nowadays (well yea that's mostly the hakouchu's fault). I guess that was the same for SA and VC though, things just went quicker here because we kind of knew what to do. Gliding was still completely open for testing though. From backflipping to holding the stick at and angle to "gotta be pumpin' yo glide m8". Almost 8, I'd say very successful, years of stunting and counting :cc_detective:

Pretty sure I made a best of a while back, although I guess an updated one couldn't hurt. Especially now that going back to VC is looking bleak. Think I lost a ton of my replays when my old external hdd died though :(

That sucks and is unfortunate to hear Simon, since I always considered you as one of the top VC guys. The chances of one having everything for years really aren't high.
KM's SA best of was also half assed and Burn also lost a ton of replays. Also two of the best... sniff... adding you to the legends list then. :P

@waNEr & Frank: There wasn't gossip about just 1 of the aforementioned guy's best of videos, so I thought I'd ask for progress/status. :P

Tbh i only care about Taz because eh. he's taz, and Daff because the original best of (im pretty sure half of this fórum has seen it by now) was disappointing.
