Title: Lagoon
Post by: Mr.Magic on June 15, 2008, 09:28:02 AM
Then I cried cus it was over.  The difference between this and Tandem is that Tandem only had mind blowing stunts, this had mind blowing stunts plus hilarious and funky ideas! I don't think I've ever enjoyed a stunt video this much.

The Editing
It seems to have been edited to perfection. The editing gave the video an awesome feeling. I didn't see any errors or anything so I can't really say much more about it. I loved the music and the zooming effect by the way.

The Intro
This was so hilarious. I was laughing throughout the whole thing just thinking "are these guys sane!?". The soothing camera panning interlude between the intense photo shoot and the main part was great, nice synching to the music too. It was a great way to lube us up for the rape that was yet to come.

The Stunts

02:17 - Brulla: That zooming effect was epic! Greatly synched to the music. The stunt itself was pretty cool. I've actually been trying it myself but ramping off that long stair case, gapping the street and then going for the bump. I slipped off the edge plenty of times which was a tad frustrating but atleast it was a fun stunt to try. Great job anyway, Brull, nice stunt to open the video!
02:25 - Kaneda: Ah, that was real nice.
02:31 - Dannye: I thought this looked very smooth.
02:39 - Brulla: LOL a caddy double grind, cute.
02:45 - Brulla: Cool drop bump, yet more proof of how skilled you are with the hotring. I couldn't do this in a million years.
02:52 - Samurai: Awesome! I love the choice of vehicle.
02:58 - Brulla: Nice! The second bump looked good and I liked how you just made the top.
03:06 - Samurai: Man, that looked great. I gotta learn how to use the tank.
03:11 - Dannye: Very creative!  Alex was actually trying this but bumping a sea sparrow.
03:19 - Brulla: Ahaha a two-wheel grind! IN A CADDY! Looked funny as hell. The rotation at the end was a stylish way to end it.
03:25 - Dannye: You're a fuckin maniac, you know that right?
03:39 - Brulla: Brulla must've gotten some bad weed. Damn, that was classy. Send me a bag of that, I wanna get ideas like this too.
03:52 - Brulla: Ah, I've always wanted to do something like this. Very stylish man, hats off.
03:59 - Samurai: Clean! Plane precision flight di tutti plane precision flights. I liked the use of key frames in this clip, very Connectedesque.
04:05 - Brulla: Another stunt I've seen Alex try, he mentioned you had showed it to him though. Lovely execution, I love the firetruck.
04:12 - Samurai: I know someone who might become a sad panda now.  Very nice execution.
04:18 - Kaneda: SICK!  Looked fantastic.
04:26 - Brulla: I've landed something with the RC plane as well, never got around to using it in a video. Your stunt was better than mine though.
04:32 - Neo: Fabolous wallride!
04:39 - Brulla: You've got an eye for detail. Clever use of that rock. Notice how the landing is smaller than the squalo. Haha!
04:45 - Samurai: Jesus, that was one smooth ledge grind.
04:53 - Brulla: This was like the only stunt I didn't like that much in the video. Probably cus Tackleberry did something very similar with a Blista Compact. Nevertheless, it was clean from the beginning to the end, good job.
04:29 - Samurai: Nice!
05:06 - Kaneda: Another ownage firetruck stunt, great job!
05:12 - Brulla: The hotring master strikes yet again. Really lovely.
05:18 - Neo: Awesome wallride again, the end looked cool!
05:25 - Dannye: Jesus christ, you just double bumped that Rockstar sign with an upside down Tank. I loved this line, or combo if you will. It was excellently executed.
05:41 - Brulla: Haha I loved that interlude where you blew up the pcj, way to go!  The stunt itself was sick and extremely smooth. I loved the editing in this clip too.
05:53 - Neo: A third great wallride! Better than your previous, imo.
06:00 - Dannye: Very nice!
06:06 - Kaneda: Oh snap, best grind on that fence, ever.
06:13 - Samurai & Brulla: Hahaha! So cute!
06:20 - Dannye: Ridicolous! Amazing squalo combo. It's sad you got stuck on the grind but the feeling of the video was just too great for me to even give a shit.
06:26 - Neo: Yousea suckah for wallrides!  That was truely stunning, you owned that spot. Would be nice to see natural, but i duno if that's possible.
06:33 - Brulla: Lol, that was kinda sloppy.  Nice idea though.
06:40 - Brulla: Basically you just scared me in to never entering a hotring again.
06:46 - Brulla: Omfg! xD
06:59 - Kaneda: Alex did this in the league, with a hotring though. The flip was smooth anyway!
07:06 - Brulla: Hahaha! That has to be one of the best stunt ideas ever. Nice use of the way the choppers bounces off of walls.
07:13 - Kaneda: I can't even land that roof with a bike!
07:20 - Brulla: More ownage hotring bumpage. Nice, I'm not a big fan of goin through walls n shit but it was cool
07:27 - Kaneda: Rape grind.
07:36 - Madmax: Oooooh shieeet, a barrell roll with a Squalo. I haven't seen that before. Nicely done mate!
07:40 - Neo: Nice looong wallride again, I thought the last one was a tad better though.
07:50 - Samurai: Crazy!  This stunt was simply amazing.
07:57 - Samurai: I think I just saw Cdarmy's obituary. Best hotring grind I've ever witnessed. I was thinking the whole time that you were gonna stop, but you grinded it all and did it with style. You gave it a smooth ending as well.
08:07 - Brulla: In the name of the father, the son and the holy Brulla, I'm going to vote for this as stunt of the year. The idea and the execution was, simply put, mentally retarded. So sick.

08:33 - Outro stunts: They were all cool and funny, Max's should've been used in the main part in my opinion..

I loved how the whole video just flowed together perfectly. I feel like this review has been limited because of a half assed vocabulary so if you didn't get the message, I worship this stunt video. Thanks a bunch plus infinity for this! Really, you guys should get a life time supply of oreos for this.

Amazing video, truly amazing. This is really what videos lack of these days, it's really nice to see just creative stunts in a single video.

I have to say that Samurai completely killed this video, your stunt completely shocked me. All other stunters did a great job aswell, not a single "weak" stunt, in my opinion. The editing is great, colourful and it's one of those videos you get happy when you see them. The music is not my style, but it worked fine.

Awesome work, all of you. It was a real pleasure to watch this video

awesome video, first thing i noticed was that Neo didnt wear glasses  looks alot better IMO, makes you look more 'mortal' or whatever you would call it

at credits i saw MadMax in stunters and was like "whaaaa ? did i miss him ? O.o" and realised he only had a credit stunt. since brulla had so many, why not put MM's one stunt in main ?

ANYWAYS ! freaking unbelieveable video ! to quote Kan "orgasmic"
we really need more videos like this instead of all the same 24h and pcj/nrg vids, we need creativety !!

I have never really seen Brulla stunt so didnt expect much but... holy shit dude, your freaking amazing !

Just a question. Before some stunts, it was zoomed really long out, and it flashed closer, how ?

long in short, 1000000000000000000000000/10 vid

One word. Dannye. The tool he created is called Freeplay, and it surely will change the editing of videos forever.

Thx for feedback guys. Its great to hear all the comments.

The editing couldn't have come out the way it did without Mr. QC, aka Brulla for his dedication to giving me feedback and making sure i kept it about the stunts. It truely wouldn't have turned out as clean without his help

Madmax didn't have many stunts because madmax was/is unbelieveably busy. Brulla insisted Madmax be in this video and never left him alone. Madmax went on break and then caved and did what he could with the amount of time he had left. Madmax did not want to be part of main stunters but you cant have guest in a collab. Madmax thinks that the rest of these guys deserve all of the credit for an outstanding performace and should all be applauded for an amazing video.

Bravo guys.

Sorry about that review template mistake...my bad.  I also noticed that my timeline was 3 seconds behind...was using an old beta when making it. I fixed the original review template now.

Thanks a lot for that review Nitzkit! About that RC Baron stunt I had in the video.... The credit for that stunt goes completely to Kaneda, he was the one who came up with the idea and it was such a god damn good idea too!

About the cam angles you were wondering...all thanks to Dannye's Freeplay. I'm sure you will hear more about it later on.

Thanks for that userbar Mythic!

EDIT: I feel that I should add to the whole RC Baron thing that Kaneda came up with the idea last fall, which was a long time before we saw that SA video featuring an RC Baron stunt. Nice idea from both of ya fellas.

if you are talking to me, I know about dannye's tool, I only meant on the intro where the cam swings and the vehicles change as if it were a selection screen for cars.

02:55 - Samurai: Blista compact stunt. DOn't know if it was hard, was fast paced and looked cool.
03:01 - Brulla: I remember when you showed me this, great stunt. Nicely done.
03:09 - Samurai: Awesome tank stunt, small room to hit the first bump. Impressive.
03:14 - Dannye: Awesome boat stunt! Never woulda though of it, done very nicely.
03:22 - Brulla: lol wtf, That was kickass and put a smile on my face.
03:28 - Dannye: When I saw the ramp I knew the grind was coming, great you did the whole thing and very nicely done!
03:42 - Brulla: Another lol wtf, that was kickass, two wheel combo then up a tree.
03:55 - Brulla: That made me smile when I saw the helicopter, was very creative and just looked fantastic.
04:02 - Samurai: Shit son, that was really nice and clean!
04:08 - Brulla: Wow, never woulda thought of that, looked hard and done nicely.
04:15 - Samurai: Wow, sweet precision!
04:21 - Kaneda: Loved how you bumped the tree, looked sweet.
04:29 - Brulla: lol fantastic idea. Looked so cool!
04:35 - Neo: Wasn't this done by KiD A in One Mind, I think it was KiD A, great stunt though.
04:42 - Brulla: Great stunt! Never woulda though you could bump that rock. Great job.
04:48 - Samurai: I fell in love with this stunt. Looked so damn nice Sam, props man!
04:56 - Brulla: wtf, Finally one of these ledge grinds but in a car. o.O
05:02 - Samurai: Nice water gap, wouldn't of thought it be possible with a hotring, nice!
05:09 - Kaneda: Absolutely loved this one as well! Huge and looked so damn cool!
05:15 - Brulla: I had this in mind before, Was trying with a sanchez, even better in a hotring, Looked so damn cool!
05:21 - Neo: Very long Wallride Neo, but there was too much of these in the video. Still a good stunt.
05:28 - Dannye: Was this intentional? Still huge stunt and was awesome.
05:44 - Brulla: Great grind! I've done the while thing before the opposite way with a hotring ut wasn't fast enough. That wallride into the grind made it look too cool.
05:56 - Neo: Now this was my favourite of your stunts Neo cause you bumped and then landed to the roof.
06:03 - Dannye: Nice bump to bump to water gap Dannye! Was very nice.
06:09 - Kaneda: Looked very nice as if you had control of the grind, greatly done.
06:16 - Samurai & Brulla: These were fucking hilarious and awesome! Nice landings!
06:23 - Dannye: Huge distance and a long and nice grind! Nice one!
06:29 - Neo: Nice wallride, Eddeman did it to the BB with a shorter wallride, but that was a nice and Long wallride.
06:36 - Brulla: Nice stunt, not very much space so I don't blame you for clipping them.
06:43 - Brulla: That was awesome! I though oyu were going to land the crane and then you bounce off onto the tanks!
06:49 - Brulla: When I saw the Ranchers chasing after you I knew what was going to happen and I had a huge smile on my face. Fucking beautiful and creative!
07:02 - Kaneda: Nice stunt! I know that VenomX did it but still was nice.
07:09 - Brulla: lol wtf, That was the shit right there! Fucking great idea and awesome grind!
07:16 - Kaneda: Crazy or Ruchy did this in a 24hr video with a hotring but I loved how cleanly you bumped and landed it!
07:23 - Brulla: Great! never woulda though of this, awesome landing!
07:30 - Kaneda: Was trying this with a taxi and a barrel roll, got close once, you did it so nicely! Great job!
07:39 - Madmax: Freaking loved this barrel roll, Greatly done!
07:43 - Neo: Good wallride, nice and long!
07:53 - Samurai: Huge and looked so awesome! Sorta grinded up the rail for a bump for the extra air!
08:00 - Samurai: Sweet! It's like you controlled the Hotring, Long and beautifully clean grind!
08:10 - Brulla: LOL THAT WAS SICK! LOVED IT! Greta idea to jump out onto the balcony!

08:33 - Brulla: That was.. Wierd, but cool!
08:39 - Brulla:  hate when these things happen, gonna try and land the roof now!
08:44 - Kaneda: Aha!  Stupid landing.
08:56 - Neo: Nice stunt there!
09:03 - Dannye: lol this was cool.
09:09 - Brulla:  Haha, nice one!
09:16 - Brulla: This was real nice! Great precision!
09:25 - Brulla: nice and small stunt, that was cute.
09:30 - Madmax: Great stunt there. Haven't seen any infernus tank bumps in a while. Nicely done.
09:36 - Samurai: That was wierd and really cool!

It's not my favorite stunt video, but it sure was great. Brulla is a genious, and even though I don't really like boat stunts, the last stunt must be one of the best stunts aver made. Are you going to join ATS now, or are you open for bids (TMS got the cash)?

I really liked Samurai's car grinds too, perfect execution. What I didn't like with this video is that there were many stunts which kind of looked the same (too many car stunts and wallrides, some which looked a bit simple and pretty normal). That's the only things I can point out, this video rocked.

Killerstunter's bigass review
(Not as big as TD's)
I never knew that, great idea and nicely done. (8.5/10)

Kaneda
Awesome ramp to bump 2 a weird place lol, i always loved tank stunts because they're hella hard for me.
I always wonder about how every person's mind differs, just 1 week ago i was passing by that place with a tank and tried to find something there but no luck. (9/10)

Dannye
Superb boat precision... i think lol. Anyways greatly done and very nice landing. (9/10)

Brulla
Dude awesome idea, a wheelie grind. Never seen anything like that before.
Creative, the word i forgot to say. (9.5/10)

Brulla
I sent a drop bump like that to the VC/LC community video and they are so hard, awesome idea man. Nice on getting that height. Plus i loved that rotation. (9.5/10)

Samurai
Awesome double bump with a vehicle i've never seen, great idea and very very creative. By the way 2 bastards in the way murdered a poor worker.  (9/10)

Brulla
WOW, just WOW. Brulla that was one amazing stunt. I thought you were just going to land that boat but how dare i think that, you do much better than that and you did. That was really awesome and rotation was awesome too plus it was real close to falling and i love risky moments in stunts. (9.5/10)

Samurai
Was that a ledge bump to grind bump? However you bumped, cool idea and just awesome landing. (9.5/10)

Dannye
Cool boat stunt.  (8.5/10)

Brulla
That was amazingly crazy man, don't know if i can call that a grind but a 2 wheel riding or don't know but you get the point.  That was a nice find and very cool way to get it going that way. (10/10)

Dannye
That was one frigging long and awesome bus grind dude, stupid poles that kept hitting you and pushing you away but still that was awesomely long one. (9.5/10)

Brulla
That was amazing, very very creative dude. Superb idea to get it going that way and nice job on doing it on the other side and super job on getting up there. You blew me away dude. (10/10)

Brulla
HOLY SHIT that was awesome, how'd you get those bastards to stay there.  That was one awesome stunt dude, very very nicely done. (9.5/10)

Samurai
Nice stunt dude, i've seen inside, under ect. but never seen between. I may be wrong but i don't care. In my eyes very cool stunt. (9/10)

Brulla
Lol it's kinda funny because try to do that in real life with a firetruck.  Awesome stunt, cool height with this vehicle. You don't see anyone guy landing a building with a firetruck every day. Again i'm saying, awesome stunt dude. (9.5/10)

Samurai
I thought you went down lol, cool stunt dude.  (8.5/10)

Kaneda
Awesome stunt with that, i liked the rotation and the way you bumped. It's a good thing that cops cars are at least good for something.  (8.5/10)

Brulla
That was a really tight spot you found for this RC plane, great stunt dude. (9/10)

Neo
That was refreshingly cool stunt, and i was thinking where is neo, where is neo lol. I loved it dude, good job on landing it so close to the edge. (9/10)

Brulla
A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I really liked this stunt. The second bump was really cool since i really like double bumps or something like that lol. (9/10)

Samurai
Lol reminds me of SA, that was one awesome idea that your head created. Is that a ledge grind or a normal grind? Whatever grind it was awesome long grind mate. (9/10)

Brulla
Hotring back grind, you're a stunt machine that shoots out creativity man.  (9.5/10)

Samurai
Very nice idea dude, that was one awesome gap with a frigging awesome landing. (9/10)

Kaneda
I thought you were going to land that grind next to it but you... nothing comes to my mind at the moment but it was something about my expectations or something. Awesome stunt dude. (9/10)

Brulla
Holy shit was that a triple bump? Amazing dude just amazing. I am stunned, superb stunt dude. (9.5/10)

Neo
Another wallride by the one and only Neo, that was a nice long one. (9/10)

Dannye
HOLY MOTHER OF ICE CREAM! That was a stunning stunt, Dannye your tank skills are super 1337.  (9.5/10)

Brulla
Holy crap, that was one long grind dude. How the heck didn't it get stuck lol. So if you grind it what way you won't get stuck? Simply outstanding stunt dude. (9.5/10)

Neo
Lol Neo what happened to your taxis, something happened to em and you're missing them so much that you're trying to replicate with cars?  Another awesome stunt, not only the wallride was impressive but also the landing. (9.5/10)

Dannye
Some good distance you got there dude. (9/10)

Kaneda
Nice ramp to ledge grind dude, it was about get stuck but thankfully you did it till the end.  (9/10)

Samurai
Haha that's a funny way to precision land with caddy, cool idea. (9.5/10)

Brulla
Same thing i said above. (9.5/10)

Dannye
Awesome dude, i've seen many many boat grinds but i've never seen a clean boat grind as this one. (9/10)

Neo
Cool wallride to bonk to building.  (9/10)

brulla
That was a tight spot you found, must've been hard to get it with that angle. Cool stunt dude. (9/10)

Brulla
You are one of the best car stunters i've ever seen, i thought you were going to land that building but no, i thought you were going to land that crane thing but no... you flew high above my expectations and left me with a dropped jaw(BTW this is what i wanted to tell to Kaneda).  (9.5/10)

Brulla
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'RE A HAT TRICK HERO! Very very very very creative idea. Amazing stunning stunt dude. (10/10)

Kaneda
That was a nice find, nice height you got there dude. (9/10)

Brulla
Hahaha recently i was messing around with a hunter and found out this weird thing, great job on thinking of a great stunt with that bouncing off dude. Superb Hunter grind. (9.5/10)

Kaneda
Holy crap that was some nice height you got there dude, almost like SA car stunts lol. (9.5/10)

Brulla
Awesome awesome awesome dude, how the hell do you find such awesome stunts. (9.5/10)

Kaneda
Awesome... dunno how that  car is called but lets called that hummer for now lol. Awesome hummer ledge grind dude, that was one long car ledge grind and i loved the position of the car when you grinded. (9.5/10)

Madmax
MADMAX, finally i see you.
That was a nice flip dude, that was different from the other stunts and i liked that. (8.5/10)

Neo
Lol Neo why do you always have a beat up car, donated too much money to GTAS and nothing left to fix your car? Nah joking man, sorry don't take me seriously. Another cool wallride and i like where you passed that low wall. (9/10)

Samurai
Wow, that was an amazing distance you got. I really liked the landing because of the rotations. (9.5/10)

Samurai
Very nice idea dude, that was one long and very smooth grind. I liked when you rolled when you grinded. (9.5/10)

Brulla
That was one of the best, creative and funniest finishers i've ever seen. Awesome idea dude, you are creative as hell! (10/10)

Credit stunts

Brulla
Haha funny stunt dude.

Brulla
Another funny stunt dude, would have been great if you stayed stuck there.

Kaneda
If tanks could boost that'd be an amazing plus in this stunt but sadly that's unreal but still cool and good job on landing it caddy style.

Neo
I was trying that for my n00b solo some time ago but as expected i didn't land it, nice stunt dude.

Dannye
Awesome flips man!

Brulla
Lol i've seen BMXers doing that but this is the first time i'm seeing a guy do that in a game with a car.

Brulla
Lol cool dude.

Brulla
Lol i was trying that with a PCJ for my solo, darn it why didn't i think of this lol. Cool dude.

Madmax
Awesome stunt dude, nice rotations you got there.

Samurai
Hahaha that was funny.

Overall

That was a very enjoyable video guys. The intro was really really cool and creative, i mean the idea. The editing part of the intro was also very good, i really liked that too. It was funny and cool at the same time. I don't know why but it was a great feeling to watch that intro, great work Kaneda. You did an amazing job with the intro. What can i say about the stunts, you must've noticed how many times i said awesome, superb ect. So you must've guessed how much i liked this video, eh? Still i'll say it!  The stunts were outstanding, every of the stunt was amazing in different ways. In my opinion Brulla did the best in this video, i'm not saying others were bad but Brulla stood out for me most. Every single stunt was awesome, very very creative. All of you guys just blew me away with your creativity. every single guy who took part in this video is a pure genius, because the ideas of the stunts were outstanding. About the editing, Samurai did an amazing job with the editing. Great choice of music. At some places the editing was just breathtaking. I really LOVED the camera movements after the intro finished when the camera was going to Brulla, and the same in the end. Outro was funny, some funny/cool stunts there. I liked the end where you guys gather and all. This is the best video i've ever seen. Outstanding video with a great intro, superb stunts and SICK editing. I am in love with this video, i will show this to my friend and they will love it.

10/10

Wow, this was a piece of great work.
the Freeplay is awesome + you edited great Sam, really nice job on that
nice music and editing, good to see Kan & max stunting, also the intro scripts etc were great and orginal. this was a great additional to Tandem, And brulla congratz on finding a stunt with the hunter! I was always searching to do a stunt with a hunter but I didnt find any methode or something like that

but this isnt the best video ever I think, though I will vote fo the best video oof 2008....

evryone did a good job!

Have fun with your further projects!

I'm stunting since the beginning of 2005. There wasn't any video that made me so fucking O_o
I was very glad that in the SL when I got my boat challenge, I got almost all the squalo ideas that you got in this video. Nah don't get me wrong not the spots, only the "methods". (The only I tried was Samurai's to the hospital.
There can't be any video that can beat this. (maybe Lagoon 2 )
Oh the editing was very nice, I really enjoyed, especially cause it didn't lag even on my shitty PC, I think that this was the first HQ I could watch without lagging in the last year.
Thank you guys

Holy crap, that's a MONSTER review Killerstunter! A thousand thanks my man, really appreciated that you gave so much time to write that up!

Same goes to ya sheikah, thanks a lot for the review!

"04:29 - Brulla: wtf a rc stunt? were u inspired by Elements?"

First of, you better start praising Kaneda, because he came up with the amazing idea of using the RC Baron (he also came up with the spot)! He came up with the idea somewhere last winter...way before the SA vid where we all saw that RC Baron stunt.  Congrats to that other guy who had the idea too!

I have pondered very hard on this review, but I think this 30445th draft got it perfect word for word.

So prepare yourself, for a Full Review full of drama, suspense, action, and finally nirvana. The characters in this review are:

Charlie: a rotting corpse held together by chewing gum.

Gary Numan: A pop star who can fly a plane (I just had to put him in, I mean how cool is that.)

Terry the sock puppet: watch him, he might seem harmless but hes a randy little fucker.

And finally Tupac and Biggie Smalls, although they managed to start a west coast vs east coast gang war during writing production and died 3 weeks before the review was finished, but they still remain here in spirit, infact I could swear I saw tupac in my tea the other day.

Oh by the way...

If anyone is wondering why Madmax doesn't appear in the intro. It's because when the intro was done, it was yet uncertain if Max would be able to contribute to the video with stunts. After it turned out he would gonna be in the video, it was too late to add him in it.

03:09 - Samurai: Now that was a sweet stunt, Great spot and the rotation made it look really good aswell.

03:14 - Dannye: A decent boat stunt, Did you bump a boat before the main bump? If so thats a really fresh idea  (If its an old idea sorry, this is the first place I've seen it)

03:22 - Brulla: The Caddy King? Who knew a stunt on 2 wheels could look so great. Really smooth aswell all the way until the end.

03:28 - Dannye: Haha that was awesome man, great idea and a near perfect execution. Good job doing the majority of the grind.

03:42 - Brulla: Two wheels to Two wheels to tree ride, a sort of random stunt in my eyes, but none the less it was a good looking one.

03:55 - Brulla: I actually said "holy shit" out loud when I saw this. I've seen heli hits to nowhere but using it to land a roof was both awesome and extremely creative.

04:02 - Samurai:  Another stunt which doesn't look to difficult to perform but still looks awesome! The turn made this stunt look really nice.

04:08 - Brulla: An old spot, but to nail it with a fire truck? Pretty insane. Good job man

04:15 - Samurai: Nice water gap to rocks, the landing seemed smaller than the car so kudos for that.

04:21 - Kaneda: Loved it, a ramp to tree bonk. Reminds me of Rallee's infy tree bump in SA just on a smaller scale. Nice one

04:29 - Brulla: I've seen this method in SA but still its impressive. Quite a small gap you passed aswell so good job!

04:35 - Neo: I love it when you land old wallrides but to an actual roof rather than just back to the floor. This looked really smooth

04:42 - Brulla: Another awesome boat stunt, nice landing also but I feel one of the higher precisions could be possible?

04:48 - Samurai:   Sandking ledge grind ftw! Dam that was really well executed and looks hella cool. Great job.

04:56 - Brulla: PCJ styled ledge grind in a Hotring? Simply awesome. Was great you managed to do the whole thing aswell.

05:02 - Samurai:  Ah I lost this to you, but the side flip in yours made it look a lot smoother. Good job landing this.

05:09 - Kaneda:  A pretty cool fire truck stunt, not much to say about this one but it looked pretty cool.

05:15 - Brulla: Was that a triple Hotring bump  Brilliant man that is why you are one of my favourite VC stunters

05:21 - Neo:  Another decent wall ride from you. It was long and cleanly executed. Nice job man

05:28 - Dannye: Was that planned? Really unique run up. I feel it would have been better if you landed that top part but hey good job for landing the stadium.

05:44 - Brulla: Was pretty cool, nice way of getting on it with a full clean grind. Sure I've seen the whole thing done with a cabbie but I guess that would be easier as you can boost onto the rail.

05:56 - Neo: Your third wallride of the vid  Looked alright, landing the buildings was a nice touch.

06:03 - Dannye: Not the best Hotring stunt but was still pretty cool. Liked how you flipped back onto the wheels over a water gap.

06:09 - Kaneda: Just a ramp to grind, but I'm guessing it was alot harder in that car as I know they can easily get stuck.

06:16 - Samurai & Brulla: Haha they were sweet, loved the way in which you landed made the stunts look a lot better.

06:23 - Dannye: As much as I disliked the cam angle of the grind, it didn't ruin the stunt for me. Liked the way you got onto the ledge with the few bumps.

06:29 - Neo: Yet another wall ride  the BB bonk to roof at the end was awesome and pretty unexpected

06:36 - Brulla: Nice idea but wasn't very clean at all. I would have liked to see no contact between the skimmer and the ship.

06:43 - Brulla: One of the best Hotring stunts in this. Looked so dam good and was to a precision as well

06:49 - Brulla: Fantastic idea, hopefully this method catches on because it's really fresh. A great change to the normal VC vids these days.

07:02 - Kaneda: Pretty sweet Infernus stunt. Got an idea from this to so thanks for that

07:09 - Brulla: Yet another really creative stunt from you. You never seem to stop amazing me and this was just awesome. The grind was smooth aswell.

07:16 - Kaneda: Awsome height for a car stunt great clean landing to the top aswell. Looked really smooth

07:23 - Brulla: At first I thought "he's going to land the top" That was really unexpected but looked good aswell. Looks like a precision to so good job with that too

07:30 - Kaneda: A good idea using the patriot for the grind, but I feel it could have been a bit smoother, maybe grinded right to the end.

07:39 - Madmax:  Didn't really enjoy this. It looked ok but just doesn't appeal to me.

07:43 - Neo:  I would say another "boring" wall ride, but the ride over the fence looked pretty impressive. Good job.

07:53 - Samurai:  I never thought I would loose an idea like this. I didn't try much so I'm not to bothered but I gota say that looked so impressive. Best stunt of the video In my opinion.

08:00 - Samurai: O wow extremely great execution. Fantastic job doing the whole ledge. The Barrel roll at the start was also a nice touch.

08:10 - Brulla: Oh snap are you for real?  That was fantastic a pretty high boat stunt to bail to precision landing. I need your fan user bar now because that was epic.

Sorry for now outro stunt reviews, I got pretty tierd

Edit: Fixed

Okay, I was calmly checking some posts in the Flash 3 thread, then I saw something, I think on Mythic's sig (not sure) It was something like "Lagoon Fan".

I, of course, went: "ZOMFGZ0R, LAGOON IS FUCKING OUTROFLPWNFUCKJPENISSHITAIDSLOLOLODRUNK"

Then, while listening to Jordan, by Buckethead, which I tried to play on my miserable acoustic guitar and failed many times because Buckethead is a fucking awesome God, I went, calmly, in order not to have a heart attack or shit like, to the ATS section, there it was: "Lagoon", last post by Dannye, just to say quickly, then I see those bad-ass comments, so I thought about DLing a possible MQ, no deal though, too big and it's 22:08 here, I have an awesome headache and the smell of sweat and guitar rusty cords is making it no better, then I thought, okay, such a great video and I'll have to watch it on Youtube, which I actually was afraid of doing, because Flash 3 was loading aswell, yeah, poor 100 KB/s net. Anyways, While it was loading, I thought I could just stay here and say, like other millions of people in this thread: "Yo, I r watch teh vido" but I'd rather make a bigger post (as if amount meant quality), so okay, let's just do it, now I'm here, just typing random shit because I have nothing to do, and look: Flash 3 is half-way done, and Lagoon is at about 1/10. Yeah, no good.

Resuming this ridiculous post: I just wrote all that shit so that YT could load while I do something useful(?)

Commenting later.

Well may I say, that video was inspirational. I feel like opening VC and making my own car video. Absoulutly outstanding work guys. I remember when i joined GTAS, Brulla had that Lagoon picture in his sig, so you really have put in alot of time and effort to produce an enjoyable video that, in my opinion, made the audience feel a sense of fun. It definatly came across like that to me, I sat there smileing through the intro, then thinking in my head "What am I in for?".

As the music started I sat up higher in my chair and when that awesome 1st stunt rolled through I was glued to the screen. So many wonderful thoughts and creative ideas, the execution of them was awesome. Brulla's caddy stunt where you got pushed by the police off the fountain and onto that house, that was deffinatly one of my favorites. Dannye's tank skills are very special, I find the tank a great vehicle to use, but man you rock it so hard. Samurai you killed this man, some awesome idea's and awesome execution, beautiful.

The editing was very clean and easy to watch. The music complimented the editing, which then complimented the stunts, so it came across like so much fun with alot of feeling put into it. I really thought your editing Sam was great, congrats on that man. And whoever chose the music, nice one  1 more thing, i loved that 'Freeplay' thing someone brought up, it really looks awesome and gives a great stylish look to the stunts. I look forward to it being incorporated into more video's.

Overall guys it is deffinatly one of my favorite video's in my collection, something to always watch in tough times or when I need inspiration. I have read every comment on this topic and I believe they are all well deserved with the time and effort put into this video. Well done guys on an awesome video that will deffinatly go down as one of the best. Congrats.

03:01 - Brulla: Very nice, awsome flip.
03:09 - Samurai: Hard to see what's going on, but as a natural tank stunt it's great.
03:14 - Dannye: Nice use of that method, sweet.
03:22 - Brulla: Superb idea, great job!
03:28 - Dannye: Awesome.
03:42 - Brulla: Another superb idea!
03:55 - Brulla: I was trying something like that for a GTASL challenge, but I found the heli's so tricky to get in place (much harder than in SA), so I gave up. Awesome stunt.
04:02 - Samurai: Cool and clean.
04:08 - Brulla: Very nice, can't be easy.
04:15 - Samurai: Old? Good at least, nicely done.
04:21 - Kaneda: Not bad at all, good looking stunt.
04:29 - Brulla: Haha, insane. Perfectly performed, Brulla, and great idea, kaneda.
04:35 - Neo: Not a very special wallride, didn't look very hard.
04:42 - Brulla: I still don't find those stunts good looking, but that was a great find.
04:48 - Samurai: Wow, that's perfect.
04:56 - Brulla: I've done that and I've done it better I think. Had it as a backup for a GTASL round. It's not very hard.
05:02 - Samurai: Great! That flip you got on the bonk landing was a nice add too.
05:09 - Kaneda: Hah, cool!
05:15 - Brulla: High AND tricky, great.
05:21 - Neo: Another normal wallride (maybe not the vehicle though). Sorry, didn't like it.
05:28 - Dannye: For a second I thought you were going to land the top, that would've made it maybe the best stunt ever. Now you didn't, but it's still awesome.
05:44 - Brulla: Didn't think it was possible to grind it all the way, very nice.
05:56 - Neo: Cool landing after the wallride.
06:03 - Dannye: I had no idea what was coming (good cam angle used), I liked the landing a lot.
06:09 - Kaneda: Didn't look very hard, kind of short.
06:16 - Samurai & Brulla: Haha, who landed it first? Great!
06:23 - Dannye: The ending wasn't great, but the rest of the stunt was.
06:29 - Neo: In opposite of the stunt before, this stunt had an awesome ending.
06:36 - Brulla: Didn't really like it, I would if it had been clean (maybe it isn't possible though?).
06:43 - Brulla: Great!
06:49 - Brulla: That was brilliant!
07:02 - Kaneda: Natural, cool.
07:09 - Brulla: Haha, insane!
07:16 - Kaneda: Wow, amazing height.
07:23 - Brulla: One of the weaker hotring stunts in the vid, but that doesn't make it bad at all.
07:30 - Kaneda: I would've liked a bit longer grind, sweet stunt though.
07:39 - Madmax: Not very impressive, think many have done stunts like that when just playing around.
07:43 - Neo: That part when you only used two wheels was great, but I'm a bit tired of those wallrides (there has been so many, I think they need something extra. Like being part of a longer combo, that would be great).
07:53 - Samurai: Very nice.
08:00 - Samurai: Most perfect car grind I've seen, amazing.
08:10 - Brulla: Best stunt ever in my opinion. ...WOW!

08:33 - Brulla: Too tired for the credits, sorry.
08:39 - Brulla: -
08:44 - Kaneda: -
08:56 - Neo: -
09:03 - Dannye: -
09:09 - Brulla: -
09:16 - Brulla: -
09:25 - Brulla: -
09:30 - Madmax: -
09:36 - Samurai: -

I tried to be honest and as you can see there was many stunts I didn't find that great, but a video doesn't only consist of single stunts, it consists of a sequence of stunts connected to each other. For me to enjoy a video all stunts don't have to be amazing them selves, I think with this video you managed to make the stunts look great together. It had a bit of a slow start (the intro was amazing btw, I found it a bit too long and repetitive though), but the stunts got better further in. Brulla had some of the craziest stunts ever, insane.

Dannye's replay tool looks astonishing. I had heard about it, but couldn't guess it was that cool. You rock, Dannye.

What the hell....like the third time the forums have deleted my message..

Quote from: Tackleberry
02:42 - Brulla: Hmm, how did you get that one up there?

Didn't really even bother checking because it's a really low roof, pretty sure you can just use packer.

Quote from: Tackleberry
04:15 - Samurai: Old? Good at least, nicely done.

Wasn't old when he landed it. Besides, it's a lot more harder with a cheetah than a hotring/infernus.

Quote from: Tackleberry
04:56 - Brulla: I've done that and I've done it better I think. Had it as a backup for a GTASL round. It's not very hard.

To be honest, I didn't really think that stunt was much back when I landed it (July 21, 2007), but after the great feedback from the other guys, I decided to keep it. I'd love to see your version!

Quote from: Tackleberry
06:16 - Samurai & Brulla: Haha, who landed it first? Great!

Well it was my idea but we landed it pretty much at the same time. I thought it would be great to have one of those double stunts in the video.

Quote from: Tackleberry
06:36 - Brulla: Didn't really like it, I would if it had been clean (maybe it isn't possible though?).

Yeah...I guess it was a bit sloppy. I have no idea if it can be done without touching the thing though, it was pretty tricky as it was already. Landed it a year ago, and haven't tried it since. Congrats to the person who can land it more smoothly.

Quote from: Tackleberry
07:23 - Brulla: One of the weaker hotring stunts in the vid, but that doesn't make it bad at all.

Too bad people didn't like this as much as the other ones, I was really suprised. It may not look much but it was one of the toughest stunts I've done. The landing surface is exactly the size of the hotring, you really gotta be sharp there, and those angles surely make it a lot harder, you almost gotta do it blind. I was really happy that I landed this stunt finally, I always liked it.

Thanks for the good and honest review Tack!

Thanks for all the positive responses from all you guys. It was a fun vid to be in on, and I'm glad to have had the chance to stunt alongside the Car Stunt King - Brulla. Sam's editing was everything I love...neat, fun and creative without being bogged down in the same old tricks. Everyone's stunts were great (even mine...somewhat) and it was fun to share ideas and just be a part of the whole thing in general. Thanks a tonne, guys.

About the intro, I'd love to say it was a completely original, ingenious idea...but it's actually a take on a movie intro (arguably the best movie intro of all time). My version is a mere shadow (not even that) of the original, so don't be too impressed  .

On the topic of some peoples' thoughts about doing the grind down the bridge in LC better and/or longer - try to remember that I'm in a car, it has very lousy handling, I'm grinding down a long bending slope, and that surface is not much wider than the tires on the car. I had three versions of that stunt and I came off the same spot every time...gimme a break, dudes

By the way, the car used in that grind isn't a Patriot...it's a Cartel Cruiser. If you wanted to spoosh one of those into the game, you need to choose the Sandking. It's not the best car in the world, but for some reason it was the only one that managed anything even close to a lengthy grind on that bridge.

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet...some replays look kinda weird in the sense of how they're positioned, like they are below the stunter rather than level with the stunter like it usually is for non-cinematic replays. There were a fair few clever differences in terms of how the stunts were shown.

Post by: Daffy on June 16, 2008, 03:43:48 PM
Well first off i gotta say i liked it a lot.
The stunts was everything from average to insane, Sam's airport grind for example... how the were you able to complete that long one with a car.
The majority of them were good, those who looked average-difficult to perform were mostly pretty creative so i didn't mind that.
I enjoyed the editing, i will say i think you got it easy as you got to use Dannye's new tool which gave you a head-start when it comes to using that in new ways for syncing purposes and such so yeah i think you had an advantage there but you used it very well... so well there's probably not much left for the rest of us to do
It's probably not a bomb that it's not my genre of music, that aside i think you were able to pick a solid soundtrack that created a good and consistent mood throughout the whole video, each song fit the other ones perfectly which you deserve a lot of praise for.

With this i'm going to say now, i might seem a little arrogant but please don't try to correct me or start a argument about it here... just think off me as ignorant and leave it at that.
It might be a faulty observation but i mentioned earlier that some of the stunts seemed easier than you'd think from reading the comments.
It's a well known fact that these videos are rare, which makes them very easy to notice and they kinda stand out as there's way less stunters that does these types of stunts rather than PSM's, BSM's, P2B's utilizing RADs method which makes it easier for you to get a good rating on the video than stunts with the same difficulty but old methods you see in most videos.
Not that this seems to be your goal when you make these videos, looks more like a bonus to me which is great, all i'm saying is that these kinda videos has in my opinion a tendency to get a little overrated due to the none-existing competition in this direction.

Again please do not take this as a arrogant rant, like i said i enjoyed the video a whole and reminded that there's more to stunting than most of us seem to remember.
I hope this video inspires more people to pick on this type of stunting to add more variety to videos and urge people to push some limits when it comes to this type of stunting... i think you have opened some of the members here's eyes to new possibilities, kinda like Off Duty once did.
You guys are pioneers, you've shown us high how we can go, now you've shown what we can do with other vehicles.
All in all, i think this wrote the beginning of a new chapter for stunting and you've inspired many of us here to write the rest of it.
Thank you.

Hmm Daffy, although i understand your views on the "overratedness", videos like this are a risk. I find myself criticised often because i like to try different things. Often even the black sheep of a video (In a bad way). Making a whole video which is a black sheep does not garentee success. i think this video is successful because it is different yes, but also because people are used to doing all those bike stunts and the realms of car stunts are less explored. ive taken a few steps in car/boat/plane stunting but it is still a very foreign area of VC. It takes a lot of time, patience and trials to get amazing stunts in this domain. I believe it takes much more time and patience than flying a bike over a 300 foot (i dono how ridiculously far they do today) gap.

First you need to see the stunt which is thinking completely outside the box. Not only that but you have to do it many times to fill a video and at the end, that can become challenging as thinking outside the box itself is difficult.
Then you need to execute the stunt and thats also exploring unfamiliar grounds. i can drive a pizzaboy through traffic with my eyes closed (exaggeration here) but i could never do that with a different car. What i mean here is that, we can mostly all handle a PCJ as if it was second nature. We know how it will react to bumps, speed, everything. We understand the physics of it. Its like riding a bike in real, once you know how to do it, it feels natural. Same with PCJs. Now its not the same story with cars and planes and boats. These are things we use much less in VC and thus sometimes it can be a little awkward and different. This means we not only need to try to do the stunt but also understand the handling and how the car reacts in order to use it. We need to learn to use it before using it.

Stunting outside the box like this was popular because its hard and people reconize this. People understand what it takes to execute stunts like this, let alone a whole video full of them. Usually you see a few variety stunts in videos but never many because they are different and we tend to think its hard to do a lot of different.

So i would dissagree, it is not overrated because of lack of competition. it is liked because it is difficult to make a video of the likes and that is why there is no competition. if something is truly difficult then I can't claim it to be overrated.

I don't want to argue but give my opinion...

Any typos is 3:10 AMs fault

I agree with you MadMax, i wasn't speaking from a creative perspective but rather a technical perspective thinking about how it would've been if these kinds of stunts were more usual than they currently are, so you gotta keep that in mind when you read my post
Title: Lagoon
Post by: Madmax on June 16, 2008, 04:16:52 PM
If these stunts were usual then the term "new" wouldn't exist =P We could always use that argument when a new method is used to get to new levels and its all over a video. People think its epic because its new and not usual. It then becomes the building blocks of something more and more usage, but even today as we look back at Decans video, we still think its epic because it was an essential building block.

Thank you for your comments and lengthy reply though =)

Which is kinda the point i was trying to get across as i was hoping it didn't seem like i was trying to rip on the stunts calling them easy... i think i'm gonna blame my sentence structure on a late hour too.
Keep making videos like this, stunting as we know it need it now more than ever

It's a well known fact that these videos are rare, which makes them very easy to notice and they kinda stand out as there's way less stunters that does these types of stunts rather than PSM's, BSM's, P2B's utilizing RADs method which makes it easier for you to get a good rating on the video than stunts with the same difficulty but old methods you see in most videos.
Not that this seems to be your goal when you make these videos, looks more like a bonus to me which is great, all i'm saying is that these kinda videos has in my opinion a tendency to get a little overrated due to the none-existing competition in this direction.

It's good to have opinions man.

Well I for one don't rate stunts by their difficulty, I rate them based on how entertaining they are to me. I'm not in for the fame with this hobby, I wouldn't ever choose the stunts I do on how well other people would like them, it's not like I get paid for it.

I think we can all agree that non-bike/taxi stunting is somewhat uncommon. I really like stunting with these more uncommon vehicles and my goal is to do my share of just putting the ideas out there and trying to inspire people to try new things, which they might really like.

About stunting videos being under- and overrated... It's a good topic actually. I don't think we can call any video under- or overrated because of the conflict of interests. Some of us rate stunts by the difficulty of the stunt, as some rate stunts by creativity and the impact they have on them, and the list goes on. Everyone has their own taste and therefore nothing can be over- or underrated in general.

I got what you meant though. It's good to be honest and put your thoughts out there.

I think you managed to put it well in your first post Daffy, it didn't sound arrogant. Overrated is a tough word to use, but your explanation about the missing competition is something I would agree with. Though there's something to remember, we (stunters) make stunt videos. There isn't a competition, the videos are made for people to watch. Even if people overrated the stunts in this video, they sure seemed to enjoy watching it (and that's what is important, in my opinion). I don't think a discussion about how to rate the stunts is needed.

Liked your post though, as I said.

EDIT:
Brulla brought up much of what I wanted to say, I didn't see that post until now.

That's a very good point, usually when i rate a stunt i usually go by 3 criteria.
1. The first impression which is kinda the same as how much i enjoy watching it.
2. The technical difficulty which is how difficult the stunt is to perform and how much time it is likely to take.
3. The creative side which speaks for itself i guess.

For point 1 and 3, you guys killed those easily, as for the point 2 i'm not that experienced at judging these kinda stunts (i doubt i'm alone when it comes to that) so i have compare them to similar stunts i've seen before.
The stunts that didn't hit the top of that ladder was basically the stunts that didn't blow any barriers (some of the carstunt, 1 or 2 of the boatstunts, some of Neo's wallrides) as similar stunts has been done earlier and blowing barriers or checking out new possibilities which seems to be the theme of the video.
That's why i pointed out that there were a few who didn't quite do that, but for a video that long i guess it's impossible.
I'll try to shut up now even though i like this discussion as it takes up some good points

EDIT: You had to ruin it Sweet

To Max:

Stunting outside the box? Two-wheeled vehicles are foreign to Brulla  it was his element rather than anything else, Max! Same COULD be said for a lot of folk in this vid although Sam's rhino stuff was very nice to see. Neo's infernus-wallrides wasn't a surprise from him as he's done such things in the past (still good to watch of course).

This vid was unique because you had a bunch of unique stunters, make a unique video. Truth be told, some of you were already in your element. This wouldn't work with ANY random stunters, it had to be this selection (I feel Tackleberry would've fit right at home as well as he's also quite eccentric!)

Since it's about the same quality and only about 20mb smaller than the HQ version, I can't see a huge problem, I suggest just sticking with the HQ.  I'm sure Samurai will give you guys an update whether he will make a new render or not, soon.

I took the time to demux (extract) the audio from the HQ version.
Follow the 5th step in the mkv tutorial for instructions on how to mux (merge) it with the mkv here: http://www.gtastunting.net/forums/index.ph...t=0&start=0 (http://www.gtastunting.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27396&st=0&start=0)

Here is the audio track (direct link as always) : http://rapidshare.com/files/122963747/audio.mp3 (http://rapidshare.com/files/122963747/audio.mp3)

Ok, that was really awesome, very different from stuff we've been seeing in the past months

The intro was simply hilarious, I loved the dancing scenes

The editing was great, I really like the parts when you started in the sky and went zooming in the stunter, like in the opener, this and the other transitions were really well done. I liked the song too, it flowed well along the video, and fitted te style of it.

Now... the stunts:
I don't know how difficult they are or how much time they took to be landed, they were great to see, and that's what's important, but some of them really stood out:
3:22 - Brulla's backwards caddy "grind"? Or did you went reversing on 2 wheels? I don't know, but it was awesome
3:28 - Dannye's bus grind That was...  First bus grind maybe? Great one, I mean... you grinded a thing in which you can drive a car on
4:22 - Kaneda's police car ramp2bump That was a really stylish bump
4:30 - Brulla's mini-plane stunt - OK, that was just fucking GREAT, who would think of using a minigame vehicle to stunt?
4:49 - Samurai's jeep grind - I've been trying something in that spot with a PCJ, but you pulled off an amazing stunt with that car, great one
4:56 - Brulla's grind at the pool - ... just...  Very nice idea
5:29 - Dannye's huge tank stunt - I didn't really know where you were going to stop, you crossed halp of the island with the tank, and did that huge (double) bump at the end, awesome one
6:50 - Brulla's caddy stunt at the studio island - Hah, you found a really nice way to use that police cars with the caddy
7:10 - Brulla's hunter grind - OK... that was the master one  nothing more to say
Brulla's finisher - Well... it was the finisher, the jump at the end was one of the coolest things ever

Overall opinion? One of the bests, if not the best video of the year so far, a great watch, and I watched it 3 times in a row so far

10/10

Ah, well hmm don't kick me yet! I'm still learning this mkv smemke business lol! But I am sorry for those that dled it and being like WTF, my speakers broken! no.....Samurai's a dum dum

Thx Daffy for giving a helping hand about the audio issue. I will rerender it though just for other people that might come across it in other forums or who manage to miss these posts.

About the posts you made, I hear what you mean. There aren't alot of vids to compare to if any that is completely non pcj and yea, there is no "bar" that has been set for these other vehicles. Other vehicles haven't been given as much love as the bikes or taxi and maybe we will see some stunts pushing the limits of the Blista hehe now to the max.
Yea, each stunt wasn't technically insane, but some were real toughies. And some were simple but fun, or good looking or the concept was interesting.

All in all, technicality blah blah is moot.  We had fun, and that was really the only goal and to hopefully show that through in a vid

Id like to see how high of a roof you're gonna pull from one of these vehicles lol

Thx for the big review donfikeegd.  A pleasure.

I loved this video - being a part of it throughout its entire development (wonderfully spearheaded by Brulla), seeing the great stunts as they are landed, watching the betas of the main and intro in awe (both wonderfully done by Samurai and Kaneda respectively), and watching the final product (in which everyone shined).

Editing (of intro, main and credits) was superb, with a great relaxing and fun atmosphere having been created. Some of my favourite parts were: the "F*ing Nitzkit" note in the intro (I only noticed this during my second viewing of the final, and had a nice chuckle), the flashing symbols next to us in the intro (groovy), the scenic shot that actually went through the clouds (and the use of actual water sounds in the first shot), the zooming transition used to intro some of the stunts, the fly-into-view on Sam's skimmer stunt, the unique shot on Kan's police car roofing, the zoomed-out shot during Brull's massive bridge grind, the transitioning-in effect on the static "Lagoon" shot at the start of the credits (and how well it fitted with the music), the perfect credit song choice, and the banner-out, just to name a few.

And of course the stunts were top notch too. Some of my favourite stunts done by the guys had to be: Brulla's two wheeling caddie skills, Kan's LC police car roofing off a tree, Sam's sandking bridge grind, the docks caddie combo, the helicopter bounce-grind, Kan's high LC hospital roofing, Max's boat barrel roll, Sam's tank bridge gap, and B-man's last stunt, again just to name a few.

Now for some comments on my stunts:

I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to get much stunts for it (I was stuck in a big stunting rut throughout alot of the video's stunting period. What you saw in that video, minus two, is the number of stunts I landed for it) - but I am actually extremely glad it worked out that way because everyone else's stuff was just so damn good, it would have been a shame for some of them not to be in the video.

I said minus two, because those first two boat roofing's (by the way, I think it was a Flatbed in the second one, not a dinghy) you see of mine were actually landed for Tandem, but I wasn't a big fan of them, so I didn't allow them to make the final cut. When this video came around, Brulla recalled them, and him and Sam both said they liked them and wanted to see them in this video, so that's why you are seeing them here. So, if you liked them, praise me, and if you didn't, blame them

My bus grind was the first stunt I actually landed for this video I think, such a fluke, but who cares, its cool!  .

The tank stunt was done on purpose, yes. When I landed it actually, I was torn, for one I was very happy because I had pulled it off exactly as planned (landing inside the stadium), but also kinda annoyed that due to the fact that I hit the top bit of the outer structure of the stadium, I thought people watching it might be disappointed that I didn't land up there, even though I wasn't even trying to in the first place. Thankfully Sam chose some perfect unique camera angles so as to put as little emphasis on that close encounter as possible.

The hotring stunt of mine was the last one I landed for the video, right towards the end. I nailed it during a SL-sparked car stunting session, and despite it being nothing spectacular, I couldn't help but really like it.

Then there was the boat grind. You gotta love stunts like that - I wasn't even trying to do that, so technically I got it on my 0-th attempt, how cool is that!  Kinda a shame it couldn't have gone a tiny bit longer, but oh well.

Now for some comments on Freeplay:

I began tinkering with the idea (which started with actually needing to learn how to even do Memory Editing, because prior to that I had no idea whatsoever) July last year, and serious working took place between Dec-March. I was spending alot of time on it over those months, I was really into it, and I was in a massive stunting rut, so I that wasn't a distraction. At that stage I was struggling with getting anything for this video, due to the rut, so I told myself that working on this tool would be part of my contribution to this video to make up for lack of stunt contribution. Thus the reason why this is the first time its been used, and wasn't released beforehand.

Although its not the only reason why it hasn't been released, there are still quite a few features I would like to add/fix/change/remove, unfortunately the difficulty of some of them, coupled with the distractions of IV and now the comm video, have hindered any such progress which would lead to an inevitable release. I suppose I could always just leave those features for now, save them for a future version or something, thus getting it out sooner, but there is still one feature that I feel I must do before any release, its not that hard, but could take some time. So hopefully I will find such time in the not too distant future to do it. (Hmmm, perhaps during the inevitable many renders, both test and final, of the comm vid where I will be sitting on my arse doing nothing, just waiting the long time for them to finish... could be utilised for such task).

Anyways, that's probably enough talk of that, considering this is actually a video thread  , but I figured it was worth saying to answer a few questions that were being asked.

Sweet video!!!!!

Large Edit:
Okay, well, Like I said above, I'd do a full review. There is a problem, in a review, you have to point out your opinon, the good and the bad. Well, in my opinon this video is... relativly perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the far zoom was a tad overused, otherwise, yeah, perfect. So, I can't rate perfection, all I have to say is; Sam, edit more please

Second Edit: This video is so good, I'm gonna have to change my car colors.

Sorry for the late reply guys! Been away for the last few days. Did watch this yesterday but I was too tired to take it in, so I'm gonna watch it again, hang on...

Right, intro wise and I think general editing/transition/whole package of editing was unbelievable. I mean, I have never seen anything quite like that, I can now understand why it took so bloody long! It was scarily professional from beginning to end, the intro looked amazing (however I think it could have been cut down to like the best moments of those that you filmed, as it dragged on a little considering how much I was longing to see the stunts ) and you managed to pull off such a beach-like feel just with environments and cool transitions, while keeping the editing cleaner than ever with the use of the replay tool (which is insane, Dannye is a genius). I also like how you didn't just spam the replay tool and totally rape it for all its uses, which you could have very easily done considering how great it is. However you kept it natural, editing was brilliant frankly.

OK, onto the stunts, sorry if my ramblings aren't very clear by the way guys, I'm still ridiculously tired.

First stunt; great work Brulla, Mr.Magic was trying that a while ago, I tried as well and it's a bastard. Standouts from you were... I can't really do standouts from this actually, the whole thing was brilliant. I think Brulla worked insanely hard for this video and it was well worth the effort, your stunts with weirder vehicles made me smile but your stunts with the hotring and that were totally stepped up a notch, really amazing. I think that goes for everybody actually. Dannye's boat stunts were great as was his coach grind, Neo's wallrides were really smooth and it was interesting to see you stunt in this way, differently from your normal style. Samurai had a great range of vehicles and stunts, some of his finds were fantastic, couldn't have thought of them in years. Kaneda got some mad height in some of those vehicles which I barely thought possible, as well as some kickass grinds. I really loved all the grinds in this by the way, it's very rare that you see proper grinds in vehicles other than bikes but all yours were either pulled off to perfection or shown to end by falling off or getting stuck, which I think is honest and kept with the whole natural editing and stunting feel. Madmax, great to see you could get one in, made me smile that one .

It's hard to say any negative points but I try to give some kind of critisisim on all videos. There were a couple of spots which were a little old, probably because you spent so long working hard on the video, however they weren't detrimental to the freshness of video too much and nothing had been done the same before completely (I think anyway). Also, I think it was a bit long, the song worked perfectly however if the main part was a bit shorter and you cut some of the less fresh ones out I think this could have been a little better, considering I dislike long videos in general  . I must say though that this didn't drag on and each second was enjoyable, these are just tiny things to keep in mind for the future considering I always like to put in a couple of possible improvements. Good job on finding great music by the way, I know how hard that was.

Overall, this video remained outstanding and incredibly unique in comparison to your previous ones; you didn't use the concept to carry the video, the stunts and editing carried it to new heights. What I mean is that pretty much any of these stunts could have made it into a normal video, you weren't just abusing the fact that it was non-bike or taxi, you really thought hard about being creative. I'm proud of you guys, you have definitely made one of my favourite videos of all time. I hope you guys enjoyed making it too, enough to carry on with this in the future!

Well in performance wise, as far as I know, they are all the same. Only the size and shape changes a bit. I just chose my hotring cause the looks of it, I find the other hotrings quite unappealing.

Well in performance wise, as far as I know, they are all the same. Only the size and shape changes a bit. I just chose my hotring cause the looks of it, I find the other hotrings quite unappealing.
Can't differences in the dff model affect the cols/shape of the car? Thus making it easier to bump certain kind of bumps and such? In that case I need to try it. And you're right, it looks better.

Hehe...was thinking whether I should add that point to my post or not.  Yeah, it can make a difference in some cases. The differency between the models isn't much though.

4:30 - Brulla's mini-plane stunt - OK, that was just fucking GREAT, who would think of using a minigame vehicle to stunt? worthy.gif

Only the one and only Kaneda would.

3:22 - Brulla's backwards caddy "grind"? Or did you went reversing on 2 wheels? I don't know, but it was awesome

About that stunt... Many people got it wrong. It's not a grind, it's a 2 wheelie on a really thin wall. It was a concept I wanted to complete, to take advantage of the _really_ thin tires of the caddy. To spice it up a bit, I decided to do it backwards.

Thanks for all the newest comments and reviews people, rock on!

On your last stunt, how did you get the Squalo further out in the water than the stones? I can't pass them, I just bounce back from those invisible "walls"

When I started on that stunt, I just went as far as the barriers let me (which is after a couple of rocks, the barriers act differently depending on your direction and speed). In some sessions I just went straight to the approx. location of the barries and saved the telepoint and started working on it. The good thing about that spot is that you don't even have to be near the barriers if you don't want to, you'll still get the height.

Doubt I did the one you're thinking of. I did one at a stuntleague over on a swedish forum. I've never seen anyone else doing it tho.

Now, to the video.
The stunts was sick. I usually don't like car stunts in VC, but I liked some of these. Not to mention the finisher is fucking awesome.
The editing is good. Not too much, not too little. Is easy to watch and I didn't have the pause and rewatch a stunt only cause the editing took focus from it like I have to do sometimes.
Didn't like the music that much, but it was okay. You made it fit well with the editing.

it looks so peaceful and/or free from hatred =P

i really loved that bump to cork to bump to cork

the stand out stunts in this i think takes more luck than bike stunts, since u cant lean for/backwards
i would really be annoyed if it was me =D

about the song, it really felt like Gran Turismo, which is also my inspirational game where i got the idea for some of my vids..
edit: it really was from gran turismo, lols...
so i really liked the song.. i also thought it was linkin park, sounded like Chester

Now its too late to edit my first post and be seen so here is a new one

My review:

Intro and editing: Good and entertaining and well edited. Neo's line made me laugh. I really liked the style of it though and it led into the main very well. The editing for the main was nice and clean, not too many effects but consistent throughout. The zoom in prior to stunts was great. I am guessing it has something to do with Dannye's program which I have no idea about. The scripting was nice and smooth and set the mood up for fun, not attitude, just fun

Stunts: As an overall comment I loved not seeing a single bike in the whole video, it was really refreshing for me and the kind of video I could watch many many times over. The stunts themselves varied in quality but I didn't really care because it was the overall mood and effect of the video that carried everything through nicely. So feel free to ignore any negative comments below

Specific stunt and editing comments:
02:20 - Brulla: Cool opener, really emphasized the video concept by using a car almost never seen in stunt videos
02:28 - Kaneda: Another good stunt, I am not a fan of the map error landing though, just looks weird
02:33 - Dannye: Great stunt, midway through I did not know where the stunt was going, then you just decided to land and stay on that roof, how cool is that
02:42 - Brulla: Nice idea, a bit short in terms of the grind but I guess that cannot be helped
02:48 - Brulla: Great work with the hotring and nice editing fx at the start
02:55 - Samurai: I've always been a fan of the Blista so this stunt made me smile, great spot
03:01 - Brulla: This stunt really shows how suited the hotring is to stunting with the second bump giving just enough height
03:09 - Samurai: Good work with the tank and nice rotation
03:14 - Dannye: Solid landing again, pretty simple execution but nice and smooth
03:22 - Brulla: This stunt is a beast, I don't know how you discovered a caddy could grind like that but great work
03:28 - Dannye: Well placed for the point in the song and awesome all round...how come the light poles had no effect tho? (sorry if someone else has already asked)
03:42 - Brulla: Interesting stunt, I like the whole 2 wheels thing...but it just felt unplanned. Still looked cool
03:55 - Brulla: Well done with the helicopter hit but this stunt just did not do it for me even though I reckon it must have been hard
04:02 - Samurai: Whilst I am sure it is a hard stunt plane stunts in VC generally don't excite me that much
04:08 - Brulla: A firetruck is a big heavy cumbersome vehicle: stop treating it like its a sports car!
04:15 - Samurai: A pretty simple ramp to landing kind of stunt I felt...not that impressive
04:21 - Kaneda: A good stunt, but the editing change at the point where Kan hit the tree made it harder to see what was going on.
04:29 - Brulla:  Cool
04:35 - Neo: Nice wallride mate, your new favourite stunting type it seems
04:42 - Brulla: Good boat stunt, with the precision landing as well
04:48 - Samurai: Great grind mate, really dug this stunt and editing perfectly with the fade I felt
04:56 - Brulla: This was an odd stunt but it was stylish so think its a thumbs up
05:02 - Samurai: Epic stunt...I almost thought you had that roof after the bonk but alas you didn't, still it made me sit up when I saw this stunt
05:09 - Kaneda: Great stunt, I like how it moved so suddenly to the left before lifting up onto the ledge
05:15 - Brulla: Great height on this stunt, well done
05:21 - Neo: I liked this wallride alot, don't know exactly why, but sweet nonetheless  Nice little editing flourish at the end as well
05:28 - Dannye: Is this like the longest distance ever covered by a single stunt? You are one lucky son of a bitch  Great stunt and edited superbly
05:44 - Brulla: I don't know how this was done, but it was awesome and great camera angles as well. Freeplay as work?
05:56 - Neo: Another wallride, keep them up dude
06:03 - Dannye: The camming really made this stunt since I had no idea what was ahead and therefore where the stunt was going
06:09 - Kaneda: Nice grind, good balance on it all the way through
06:16 - Samurai & Brulla: Funky little stunts, I like that two people in the video landed each side rather than a single stunter whoring the same idea
06:23 - Dannye: Weird that it got stuck. I really liked this stunt, it is a pity that the grind did not go further though
06:29 - Neo: I had this idea one time, but never got around to it so I am really happy that this was landed
06:36 - Brulla: Again I appreciate that this could have been tricky, but plane stunts are not my thing in VC and it wasn't perfectly clean
06:43 - Brulla: Great use of the environment, I had no idea where you were going to land once you got air but when you did get it I smiled
06:49 - Brulla: This is one stunt that I will remember for a long time, to think that a caddy could land that roof from such a classic spot is amazing. Great work mate, I salute you
07:02 - Kaneda: Cool stunt and nice smooth barrel roll made it even cooler
07:09 - Brulla: You just don't stop...awesome idea and totally original, the kind of stunt I wish I thought up
07:16 - Kaneda: So clean, simple bump but then no movement once you were in the air, luck maybe but man it looked good
07:23 - Brulla: Again like I said with Kan's tank stunt, I am not a fan of the map glitch landings even with a cool bump like that
07:30 - Kaneda: Nice sideways grind, good use of a different type of vehicle too
07:39 - Madmax: A bit underwhelming for this stunt, good to see you in the video I guess
07:43 - Neo: A perfect example of car wallriding to show people in the future. It shows just what is possible in terms of what can be driven along.
07:53 - Samurai: Ummmm, yeah I guess that is kinda fucking epic
08:00 - Samurai: Your two best stunts in the video side by side. Great long grind with rotation and flips as well. Top work mate
08:10 - Brulla: Your video, your finisher...and one stunt that will be remembered for a long time mate. Definitely a contender for best stunt of the year. Bumps can get higher, grinds can get longer but this stunt is one of a kind and that is what makes it so memorable. Great transition into the credits song as well

Credits: The credits were all good, but I had to go back and watch them twice the second time since the stunts made me forget to read the text
08:33 - Brulla: Funny stunt, nice use of the map
08:39 - Brulla: At least you won't forget where you parked it
08:44 - Kaneda: Funny stuff, maybe a new way to set up a tank bump?
08:56 - Neo: Nicely done
09:03 - Dannye: Flip to flip...fun
09:09 - Brulla: Nose landing  Imagine you held it hehe
09:16 - Brulla: Simple little stunt
09:25 - Brulla: I liked this stunt a fair bit actually, mainly because of the use of a different vehicle
09:30 - Madmax: Nice tank bump mate, good rotation
09:36 - Samurai: Cool idea especially since I thought it was a blooper at first

Overall: Yeah I reckon you guys might have a future in stunting  Top work all round. Lagoon is a special video because it has perfect presentation, a great attitude and so many great ideas. I am sure it will once of those videos to be remembered because I am almost sure it will start a trend on GTAS towards more car stunts which will be a great thing. I would be lying if I said that it didn't make me go out and stunt in a car

Thanks for sharing guys, I will watch this video whenever I want to have fun and be inspired

Thanks a bunch for that great review Kremlin, really appreciated when coming from you. Saw some questions there, thought I'd answer them:

Quote from: kr3mlin
The zoom in prior to stunts was great. I am guessing it has something to do with Dannye's program which I have no idea about.

Indeed it was possible with his great little tool, as well as my leaf links bridge grind angles, which you also wondered.

Quote from: kr3mlin
03:22 - Brulla: This stunt is a beast, I don't know how you discovered a caddy could grind like that but great work

A lot of people misunderstood this stunt. It's not a grind, it's actually just a 2 wheelie on a really thin wall, the sparks at the beginning just caused when the metal hit the wall.

Quote from: kr3mlin
03:42 - Brulla: Interesting stunt, I like the whole 2 wheels thing...but it just felt unplanned. Still looked cool

Might of looked like it but trust me, it sure as hell wasn't. Took me a fair while to complete that concept, doing a 2 wheelie up a palm, that is. After a while, I came up with that spot. The aiming is a bit of a bitch btw,  I had to switch wheels at one point to get the correct angle.

And yeah, the intro is an amazing piece of work. The detail in it is the reason I love it. Those easter eggs in it being one of those details.

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet...some replays look kinda weird in the sense of how they're positioned, like they are below the stunter rather than level with the stunter like it usually is for non-cinematic replays. There were a fair few clever differences in terms of how the stunts were shown.

One of the awesome features of Freeplay.

Ok, caps lock are gone lets comment the video.

Each year there are a few collab who are over the others because they try something new or because they're full of amazing stunters. This one is one of them and you did everything very well for made us enjoying it before it has been out. It's always an envent to see a ( or a kind of) crew video from ATS.
Indeed Kaneda already got few of the best intros ever on his list ( We can pick out Apparition for exemple) but this one is probably the best ever. Funny, spontaneous, full of creativity I laughed so hard during it. Now I'll be wondering if you've got a real talent for make them.
After comes Samurai's touch with all his little mates who started very well with that "freeplay" utilisation. The editing rembered me Quattro's one with a king music full of feeling, it's something we don't really see anymore with all those new metal groups. But meh, for a stunt video stunts are needed so lets comment them, although in a stunt video of 10mn that can take a little while. A lot of thoughful stunt are showed here, a double grind in caddy, Dannye's "double bump" involving a jetmax followed by that bump to bump to gap. At this list I should add that caddy stunt pushed by those FBI ranchers Brulla, the idea is really good, a bit as krem's one but this time you don't push you're pushed  . That little humour touch when Samu do that caddy precision's stunt and Brulla do it on the other precision made me smile, peoples are making video for made you   and never  , we're here for that after all . Dan you'll have to tell me how you found that double bump to stadium, same for that hunter grind Brullanulosa. Congratz to you sam for finished that grind a 8:02. Beside all those thoughful stunt (you can put that pool ledge grind in that category as well) there was two really impressive (that doesn't mean they were un-creative) the finiser, and that heli bump to roof. Those skimmer stunts were ok same as Neo and Kan's stunts even if Kan first rhino stunt was really cool. Madmax was present, nothing more to say. Oh yeah, that far camera view on your infernus grind made it so cool Brulla.
The outro was ok (mad's stunt was better than in the mai part) with that little "ats addition" when it comes the time to say good bye.

As you noticed I didn't made a review "good and bad points", there isn't enough of bad points...

My review: Well done guys, you honestly had me numb by the end of the video. My favourite stunters, my favourite stunting friends, all rolled into one video. I loved it.

Sorry for being late guys.

Intro: I really liked this one, just when I thought ideas would be played out something new and out of the ordinary just comes along out.

Several favorite stunts that stood out for me:
Dannye - boat landing on roof - Really nice to see you reach and roof and stay on it!
Brulla - hotring to the ship - Really sweet stunt, great landing also.
Samurai - rhino stunt - The first person to do that stunt naturally, and in a rhino makes it oh so better.
Dannye - boat landing on roof - Really keen eye to spot that one out, fantastic.
Brulla - hotring heli hit - Looked amazing and performed excellently.
Brulla - firetruck to roof - That landing reminded me of SA physics for a while.
Samurai - cheetah to rock - Performed it like a true GTA Fanatic.
Kaneda - fbi stunt -
Samurai - sandking grind - I tried it with a PCJ for one of my SL4 matches, glad I didn't land it.
Neo - stinger wallride - You went really far with a clean landing, slow down once in a while.
Brulla - infernus grind - Couldn't believe this when I first saw it.
Neo - infernus wallride - Superb stunt and landing and everything.
Kaneda - cheetah grind - *GTAF Stunt Reel 4 flashbacks*
Brulla - hotring docks stunt - I tried this one and slipped off several times.
Brulla - caddy to roof - You should try it in a stationary vehicle next time, considering you've probably landed that with every moving vehicle.
Kaneda - infernus stunt - 4 years later and it's finally landed.
Brulla - hunter grind -
Kaneda - infernus to roof - INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brulla - hotring at stadium - Look above!
Kaneda - truck grind - Look above again!
Neo - infernus wallride @ prawn - Keep going at it eh.
Samurai - rhino stunt - Kingjad can learn a thing or 4 from you.  One of the most original rhino stunts ever.
Samurai - "grind" - This is the stunt I should've lost do in the semi-finals of GTASL3, not some half assed grind by Cdarmy.
Brulla - last stunt - It's all about closure...

Amazing vid guys.

Jesus, you must have been bored to post in this thread. Max came with me, in the Infernus. Remember he did the barrel roll at the marina? I was on my way by so I picked him up.
