I would be up to organize it now if the staff doesn't mind. Is there anyone interested in taking part? I know people might have exams soon and it would interrupt with their school schedule but I won't have time during summer to handle this.

Go ahead, just don't pick up judges who have no idea about the actual game or can't be objective, like sheikah ;)

As I said I won't have time to do it all during summer, maybe someone else could do it if the community badly wants it then (you also should take in consideration nobody was up for organizing it last year). I expect the whole league to take around 2 months, so starting now would mean finals somewhere in June/July.

I contacted staff and they don't mind me organizing this, however one of them suggested to start the league after summer to minimize the amount of no-shows people would pull out as a result of their school/work stuff and holiday trips. I think getting this running somewhere in August/September is an appropriate time, so expect it then.

i can organize this on my own if nobody is up for it but i want to participate too :(
i guess 16 participants + 5 judges + challenge writers with one or two substitutes would be enough for a small fast fun league

why don't you fire up a new topic for sign-ups and we'll see if this is going anywhere or not.

16 participants would suck though. would only be 2 rounds before semifinals...
if it's gonna be more than 16 but less than 32 we should have a group system before K.O. rounds or call it qualifications...

32 would be okay then, but looking at current GTAS activity i doubt it would work.
well, gonna set up maybe a sign-up topic today but dunno how would that look as being organizer+participant at once eh.
