Title: VC Throwback
Post by: Lex on November 09, 2020, 12:16:07 AM
VICE CITY THROWBACK

Hello guys! I am so proud to present to you the collab I organized few months ago that is "VC Throwback" which is inspired by Diaz's San Andreas Throwback in 2014. I have never expected this collaboration to be this big though, I have never experience organizing a big collab other than the japanese/taiwanese collab I made back in the days that still laying in the corner.

These stunts, these people behind this collaboration was a gem for me. this will be a tribute for our pioneers and people who inspired and motivate us over the years! I tried to contact everyone I know, but some didn't have time or long lost, I wish the best for them!, But I'm still happy to that still I manage to hook some old stunters.

For the stunts, everything is used! if you think there is a stunt missing of yours, It must be on the 1 part that I cut! sorry for that. again 1 part has been cut and it's 5 minutes video

The editing didn't really quite goes to what I expected due to a short time and this what not actually my vision but if ever I could achieve what my vision is that it would take me many more months (I will release some of my vision in beta soon). due to a personal work conflicting this project, I ended up inviting "Ezraph" which is I didn't regret due to his editing talent. This boy really blow my mind and reminds of Max editing but on fire yo! thanks man for holding my back.

Shoutouts from me:

Sorcery for sending me the freeplay, MTS for the modded freeplay and Lex because I want to help him just because the replay count is about 90. He hit me up on Discord for my help on some things :D
Would do a review...

EDIT: I forgot something and it's for Khaimyk, I had to use his PCJ and tommy skin that I made for him as like a gift, bruh I should have used his instead

I blew it by not sending anything, but in the end it was for the best, seeing how the video is way too long.  With that being said, I still fully enjoyed it, especially the part with the Tobacco track. The editing was a little rough around the edges at some points, but it didn't detract from how enjoyable it was to watch for me.

When I opened the stream link it said 16 minutes so I expected a long intro/outro but nooooooooope. Awesome  :jajaja: If you had told me beforehand that there would be a 11+ minute gap between my two stunts I would've called bullshit

Very enjoyable video! Great atmosphere and editing, although for some parts the resolution or quality was a bit weird. And removing stuff like water droplets or using the correct .dff for PCJs so they don't get fully white brake disks are kind of hard to see when the rest of the editing and such was so nice. Great selection of music also.

Stunting wise Krypton seems to really enjoy quarantine so that we can enjoy it a tiny bit more as well! Can you tell me if you just leaned forwards into the ledge on the opener or did you pull back at the last split second? Leaned forwards right?  :ninja: Also Lex for landing Daffy's dropbump (prefinisher in both Plague and this, good choice for that spot  :cc_detective:), Morbid for the Werewolf bike grab, Hedgehog for the nice execution of that boost at 6:09 (very spinny and flippy), Zero for the nice 180 execution on Caio's doublegrind (and just now noticed it says Zero behind your front wheel), Morbid for the green roof BSM because it looked nice with the flame spins and also Skilz in general for landing very nice classics.

The fact is it's not a TOBACCO track.

Damn, cool vid here.
I really enjoy this edit with flying camera angels.
Thanks to my bad memory because I saw some stunts like the first time.
Liked the most: Morbidxxx's vc grab (nice sky replace, noticed this only during the second viewing of the video ), Krypton's lc rotating2grind, Ezraph's sanchez grab on the beach, Dannye's cool flips2grind van stunt, Kingjad's rhino double flip2grind, Hedgehog's taxi boost with cool rotation at the end, Skuller's vc csm prec, Rainbow's saivc grind with cool backwards stoppie at the end , Hedgehog's cool fbi bump to wallride and landing.

Thank you for this collab, nice to be a part of it.

Enjoyable watch, bunch of good stuff in there and it was nice to see some old names again. Personally I liked the 2nd/3rd parts the most; good vibes, some really cool angles and nice editing. Definitely some oddities with it though as previously mentioned - how the fuck did morbidxxx's first stunt end up with my purple PCJ which I never sent to this collab nor do I think I ever sent it to anyone in general

I also noticed Faiz's SAIVC stunt doesn't show his tommy skin but mine shows it, or my sanchez stunt in the 1st part uses morbid's instead of my yellow one. It's kinda rushed during recording XDD but it's still a great video my CC on my part doesn't show your pourpel it shows reid insteid XDD

Let me talk about the edit for a while

I got more than 90 stunts but It didn't bother me editing the whole thing, but some unexpected workload surprised me in the door that made the collab progress slowly, tho I still consider it moderately.

I ended up textiing in discord ezraph if he can atleast work on a 1 part and he did, he did a really great job of it.

This was not the vision I have for editing, It was supposed to be an Art balance and Stunting wise same as this
https://youtu.be/P4OVw608DjE I did months ago on "GERi" with this collab fiirst part vibes.

I still hope that you enjoyed this project! I'm up for another sequel with surely more improvements.

while making this collab I realized that managing really sucks and annoying, especially when you are going to start recording and installing skins unlike San Andreas which is 5x more easier.

again, I'm up for another sequel with surely more improvements. (I hope next year)

I told him to use it and it helped, I used it on mine too because I knew it's a fucking lifehack using the mod. Sad thing is that using modloader in my SAiVC didn't work because I was using leevi's version and it crashes whenever I use modloader

Turned out great! If we talk about stunts my favourite was Krypton! Gooj job for re-landing those classic stunts from Barney and Daffy! About editing - will definitely go with the third part! Both soundtrack & can angles were best there! I can see some fucked up fonts/skins but that's no big deal. Good job to everyone involved!

If there is going to be a sequel to this I'm ready to send some replays!

Nicely edited project, it was a massive undertaking!

I was a bit surprised that the pole bump to roof I had was used instead of the pole bump to grind that BK had landed in Interlocked though, I feel that was the superior stunt?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1OX-52wBB8

Still an enjoyable vid with a lot of nostalgic spots. Excellent work, everyone. Was especially pleased to see Dannye rocking a stunt from Miss This!

It's definitely the pole 2 roof one and not the pole to grind. Maybe you sent the wrong replay?

I sent both. It's partially my fault for sure. At first I landed roof and thought 'hey, neat'. Then I landed grind and thought 'hey, neater!'. Both were sent but considering there were so many bloody replays being thrown at Lex it's not the biggest shock there was confusion, especially with me as I did go back and forth with him few times over things like updated bike skins...

Overall, lovely job :)

Wow! This was such an enjoyable watch from start to finish, hats off to Lex and Ezraph for putting this together
Loved to see such a line up in a video again, so many great stunts with great executions, standouts to me were Sheeptea's double lc grind (gj on landing the second grind), Hedgehog's boosts/fbi bump, Dannye's burrito grind, Krypton's everything (obviously killed it), SkilZ p2b, Skullers ambulance csm, ZeRo's double grind, ARS p2b, Lex prefinisher, Ezraph's bobo stunt and so many more.
Editing wise I liked the third part the most. Some of those cam angles, like on Krypton's 3rd part opener, reminded me of Kacknase and some of the angles he had in the AR vid. Very well executed, loved the free cam action, also the soundtrack on 3rd part was very enjoyable and went well with the edit. Lex's parts were well put together as well but some of the soundtracks I didn't enjoy as much. Some things could have been avoided like the pcj.dff's and water droplets as Rainbow pointed out, but then again it's a huge project so those things can happen :P
If there is going to be a sequel to this I'm ready to send some replays!

Oh my, I never suspected this to be such a massive video. For the short time this was put together, the outcome is really great. All the editing mishaps just makes a place for much more epic sequel, that I would love to be a part of again. I really wanted to offer to edit this, but I thought that you had everything set. I have such an editing mood lately, brr. My favorite parts were the last two songs, third one in particular with all the angles was really amazing.

Stunts were beautiful, Dannyes grind was my favorite, and Krypton stole the scene with all the massive air stuff, and rhino stuff from Max was cool (Kingjads flippy grind including, totally forgot how blown away I was first time I saw it). Now I wish that people wouldn’t be afraid of doing more old stunt collabs  :ajaja:

Man have I been looking forward to this collab.
Lex, Ezraph, you are the best. Thanks for takig the time to organize and execute!
Stunting wise, this also blew my mind guys, damn are there some impressive re-lands in there! Krypton absolutely owned the vid, but Skilz' LC nat. bump was the best for me! Very impressive.
I had a blast stunting for this collab, real good fun to land old spots that inspired me back in the days.
Great job everyone!

Barney + Daffy relands owned, you know who you guys are.
Faiz watergap is also really hard imo, so good job on that!

Many of these stunts I tried to land myself for this collab, but ended up with these boring ones :cheersad:
Also spotted one of my original stunt relanded by Skuller :cc_detective:

Editing was really chill no complains at all. Overall solid oldie collab :ajaja:

Had so much fun stunting for this, thanks Lex! I knew there were lots of stunts sent in, but didn't think we would be getting a 16 min video lol. Loved all of it! the third part was definitely my fav though. The music, angles and panning were all done great. This was a big project so I'm going to let the little things pass for me. Awesome job bringing it all together Lex and Ezraph.

As for the stunts there were almost too many to point out; Kings rhino stunt was a hit, Sheeps double grind was nice, same with ZeRos, and overall from Morbid, Skilz, Aries, Smut, and ARS. I know im forgetting a bunch of cool stunts in there but looks like everyone had fun for this which is a big win.

Overall turned out great, would have liked a higher quality render but I don't blame you for a 16 min video. Thanks for putting this all together Lex and Ezraph.

Can you tell me if you just leaned forwards into the ledge on the opener or did you pull back at the last split second? Leaned forwards right?  :ninja:
If you rad enough and have enough speed once you get your front wheel up yeah you have to hold it up for a split second then get it back down and just barely pull up literally right at the bump. she was a fickle bitch thats for sure. Thanks though Rainbow

I really wanted to offer to edit this, but I thought that you had everything set. I have such an editing mood lately, brr.
I vote Morbid edits part 2

Also, can we get started on part 2 ASAP?  ;D

Yup! I agree for the sequel also Ezraph is up for it.

I have so many mistake and error for this collab, because of my lack of experience editing in VC but as you pointed that out, I got an idea now so probably the sequel will have a better quality. Thanks to all of you and these comments will help me visualize my real vision to the collab!

But currently I am saving money for my own PC, (still far) the PC I'm using for now is from my brother, I just borrowed it because he is in the other province

Thanks for squeezing me in last minute <3 Super happy to be part of this video. Great editing, great songs and most of all great stunts by everyone; really enjoyed seeing all of these stunts again, especially the ones I kinda forgot about.
It's literally crazy how Krypton and I are like one mind when it comes to stunting in general and this collab in particular  I literally tried everything he landed before but he already landed it way before me, thus absolutely stomping this video.
Had a bunch of bad luck myself while trying stuff for this but the final product is an awesome, memorable video that'll hopefully be reinstalled in the future.
Top job to everyone involved!

This project turned out great, and I am very happy to have been able to be a part of it!

It was fun to see so many classic stunts revisited - Ezraph's freeway-grind chase, Xtramus's stoppie/grind complete with the uzi firing, and Kingjad bringing us those impressive tank flips/grind again, among many others. I also very much enjoyed the use of Freeplay throughout - seeing it get a workout like that is quite satisfying - and something about that first part of the video in particular, with the song choice and the night-time stunts, I found really cool.

If anyone wants to see the original versions of my two stunts:

Great work everyone, and cheers for running the project Lex!

it was unexpected to see such a big vid, wow. so many great classic stunts were relanded, everyone did a nice job, stunting part was sick.

more unexpected thing for me was the editing job, because it was more better than i expected. also didn't know that 2nd editor should be Ezraph, so it was very interesting to see how you both will edit this video. very liked the camera work combined with active camera effect, also liked birds, colors were okay, but you should learn a bit more about CC, how to make it properly. disliked low draw distance and resolution, but i know it is because of bad pc, also disliked stunt cuts at the end of stunt (pls show stunts fully) and some cam angles, you should think about placement of clips, becuase it looked a bit like you played a lot with flying camera and forgot about stunt view.

i hope you will fix all these issues in next project, good luck and thanks for the video!

Great video guys, it turned out to be really enjoyable.
Lots of cool stunts landed, and as weird as it sounds, I have to say Krypton stood out in this old stunts video  It was good to see such long lineup, truly felt like kind of a comvid for me. The editing was pleasant as well, all in all a great project and I'm glad my collab served as an inspiration for this  :P

PS: 16 mins of stunting, wow. I believe it shows very well how active the VC scene has been lately. At least compared to SA.
not counting the freshly released AR video that took years to make
