VC Un-Modded Stunting Video Releases / Re: OMINOUS PLAYGROUND VOLUME 1
« on: October 04, 2023, 03:29:59 AM »
Great video there guys. I enjoyed all the stunts. However, I can't say I particularly liked the music, but it fits perfectly with Ezraph's universe and editing style. Incredible camera angles, very pleasant to look at.
Congratz to Ezraph for the editing, Angle.Fire for the organisation and to everyone for the stunts.

Not forgetting Haywire, who did a remarkable job for the map!

I had also thought about this idea, but I didn't want to disturb Faiz's work.

I like the idea that each year contains an edit, or for example Re-landed the 3 best stunts of each year. But that could take a long time for some spots as they require months or even years... What's more, we'd have to agree and vote on what we consider to be the "best stunts of the year 20XX". Not an easy task... Or we could simply avoid this debate and take the best stunts from the Awards.

VC Chat & Support / GTAStunting 20th Anniversary coming up
« on: September 28, 2023, 06:20:48 AM »

GTAStunting started out as The aMpT Stunting forums, on or February and March of 2004. If my scientific calculations are correct, this community will officially be 20 years old in less than 6 months. So I'm surprised that a video for this special occasion wasn't mentioned. I'm not the only old survivor here, though, am I? It could be a video featuring the greatest stunts of the last 20 years, or simply a remake of old community videos. A video bringing together as many old stunters as possible, even if it seems complicated to reconnect with some of them. And of course a dedication to the creator of this community: Andyroososoft, that could even be the title of this video,
sometimes simplicity is a good thing...

I'm aware that there's currently a 2023/24 Vice City Community video in preparation, which complicates the idea of such a anniversary project.
But I wanted to hear your thoughts on such an event. 20 years is something to celebrate!

In any case, I trust you to come up with ideas
or you can simply to ignore it and come back for the 30th anniversary.

Pretty good stuff there. I can feel the frustration in some of your attempts.

Thank you Dannye for your great work! The new feature "Display Frame Counter" is very interesting.

As always, it's a real treat to see your videos and unique style, which I really appreciate, reminding me of the joys of recording on VHS tape. The effect used seems closer to E-300 "standard play" quality on tape re-recorded 30 times over the 1988 wedding and 6 soccer matches, all in CVBS.

What can I say, your stunts are pleasant to watch and your spots highly original. Your grinds are and will remain legendary. Bravo!

When can we expect a video recorded on LaserDisc?

Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas / Re: Why do you continue to stunt?

I've found that many end up coming back, even if it's just for the duration of a video project. I think for many, this community has left its mark. I myself have never found an equivalent elsewhere, and yet I've seen so many in 25 years on the Internet. The only community where I've found similarities, whether in the style of the videos, the notion of sharing creation or the idea of standardizing a practice, is the Counter Strike 1.5 community. In fact, I invite you to take a look at the similarities between CS frag movie and old gtastunting videos. All this to say that a community like this, bringing together so many disciplines (video editing, graphics, coding, 3D modeling and even audio creation in some cases) around a game, is not common.

To answer your question, I came back after a 13-year absence, mainly out of nostalgia. What's more, of all the communities I've been in, it's the only one that's still holding out against the invaders of what has become the Internet, but that's for another old fart debate.

Thank you for your feedback! I finally got motivated to add the download links and GTASDB for those interested.

Oh wait... more than 2 years have passed. Sorry I have a slow connection.

Your video has an authentic feel, It was great to see this aspect. Stunts were creative and nice to watch. Regarding the other 2548 stunters in the video, they formed a coherent whole. But disappointed that not all community members were there (in for a penny, in for a poun).

Damn it, there are stunts in Ghost Town that you have my utmost respect for. Also, I didn't expect to see a jackass-style outro.

You won't mind if I say I didn't like the music, but that's because I'm an old fart.

Good job!

If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can land on an air traffic control tower.

Anyway it was impressive. Editing was pleasant.

Good video, I like to see videos on old GTAs that are still too little explored. I encourage the process!

Why didn't you play the PS2 version? Despite a rather mediocre port, it has the merit of being able to display natively in 576i PAL or 480p NTSC with the original hardware or to upscale to 1080p with Action Replay/FreeMcBoot GSM. Or simply with a PCX2 emulator which to my knowledge runs better than a PPSSPP.

Hey Torque, glad to see a veteran again! Your video Immortal was one of my first stunting experiences. If I remember correctly, it was on TGA.

You can add me from France for VC engine. If there is a more or less equal proportion of VC and SA stunts, I suggest doing 2 videos with the mentions "Vice City Edition" and "San Andreas Edition", assuming each part has its own intro.

I also thought of such a project but it would require the agreement of the current owner of the forum (AJ?), if only for the name and the domain for example. The current forum is on CMS, which can make porting difficult, on the other hand if we can have access to the database, we can reuse the same tables for certain entities but I doubt that this can be done on users since Password hash standards have evolved over time. If such a project were to be realized, I could help with great pleasure for the front-end but concerning the back-end I am rusty since I stopped at PHP 5.3.

The idea of relaunching the community is good but in my opinion it will be necessary to highlight things like GTA Online and all these things which have not had much success with the old people here. Streaming can be interesting too, it can bring a new way of seeing stunts (even if some old stunters do this sometimes) and it can motivate newcomers accustomed to this type of content. For example, it would be fair to highlight it and assign categories to it.
