SA Chat & Support / GTA United - Windows 10
« on: March 24, 2016, 02:02:18 AM »
Installed GTA:U correctly, but when I run the game and spam enter to skip the LC and VC intro ads, the VC ad dims and stays frozen. The game menu never loads. This problem didn't happen to me before on Windows 8 or 7... Compatibility mode (Windows XP / 7 / Eight) gets me into the game menu, but crashes upon loading the game. Any ideas?

The Polling Center / Question & Complaint
« on: November 03, 2014, 09:48:47 AM »
I acknowledge I had my jet stunt video recently posted on the front page (thank you very much, JL ). But, I feel disconcerted. I have never seen another plane stunt video on the front page of this website. GTAStunting will post a budding motorbike crew on the front page if they have a decent video, but plane stunts are completely neglected. DuKtape's video could have been on the front page back in 2007, but I can't recall (it's amazing how much attention that video received).

Admittedly, most plane stunt videos are tedious and don't showcase real skill. Anyone can fly a plane through a tight space if they try enough times. Likewise; anyone can bump a motorbike with enough attempts, right? There are good and bad stunt videos. But when someone does a proper plane stunt video (not necessarily the greatest, but still good), I suspect it's to be neglected by this website unless the stunter contacts an administrator.

I think that's a problem! GTAStunting is the only forum Google will show you when you search anything close to "GTA stunts". Everybody who's genuinely interested in stunting will find this forum. Rockstar looks at it; hell, there's nowhere else to look. When people look through this website, however, they see a clear bias towards motorbike stunts. I think that's toxic! Why does GTAStunting (the biggest forum on the topic), in 2014, primarily represent motorbike stunts despite countless innovations since its inception?

I believe the current presentation of GTAStunting pressures people away from alternative stunting (which is equally relevant). If stunters are looking for critical acclaim from the GTAStunting community (which is damn relevant; everyone will tell you this community's opinion matters most), they certainly cannot achieve it without a crotch rocket (or sadly, an administrator). Most of us here work hard on our stunt videos. As a stunting community, everyone deserves a fair chance of getting recognized for their unique work!

If every administrator is all about motorbikes, however, this ideology is an impossibility. Motorbike stunts are undoubtedly the most popular variety, and their attention is well-deserved. I have personally worked just as hard as every veteran motorbike stunter here, however, for 8 years, and I need to present my video to an administrator to get a little post on the front page? What the fuck is going on here?

I am making this poll because I'm curious to see how many people actually like plane stunts. Please be sincere. If they bore you, I want to know about it! I understand most people do a bad job of stunting planes and it bores the hell out of me, too. But when someone does a damn good job, I believe it deserves praise from the best community out there; regardless of the medium. I realize there probably aren't many plane stunters on this website and, ironically, that further supports my issue with this website.

GTAStunting needs to look like the home of all GTA stunting varieties. Motorbike stunting does not define good stunting in GTA, yet the administrators seem to disagree. This website is extremely influential and based on the general content in the spotlight, I believe the administrators aren't fully aware of this. You need to attract more stunters by embracing all forms of stunting on your front page. I sincerely hope more alternative stunters will get the chance to be on your front page. It means something.

Meet The Stunter / Viper
« on: October 31, 2014, 10:53:38 PM »
Unsure if I'm allowed to do this; I figure nobody will request an interview with me (jet stunts get no attention). But, if anyone is curious about the GTA jet stunting side of things, I can answer questions. I have been an important figure in jet stunting since 2006 (in San Andreas and now GTA V). Any questions for me?

V Videos / "Viper" - A Jet Stunt Video
« on: September 16, 2014, 09:37:49 PM »
Dedicated to hardcore SA:MP and GTA V jet stunters. Editing and special effects by VaNilla (Shadowsniper). Recorded in single player on PS3. Proper HDMI (not the watered-down stuff).

From the video description:

"I tried to stunt in a way which reminded people of early through late SA:MP jet stunting. Some spots are harder than others, and plenty of forms (old and new) are present. To represent the late SA:MP period, I had to push my limits. Imagining a stunt like "Zeus" or "Top Gun" is quite difficult, and the GTA V map does not help."

Introduce Yourself / Viper (old player)
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:11:23 PM »
Guess I should have made this my first post when I joined here, years ago.

I have been playing GTA:SA since 2005, and I was introduced to SA:MP in 2006.  I am a driver and (sort of well-known) hydra stunter in this game.  My specialty is vehicle control (stuff like precision driving / drifting, and flying).  There is a tunnel stunt named after my username, and I spend most of my game time on the same server.  I used to stunt with DuKtape (whose name should be well-known to hydra stunters).

At the moment, I have a couple videos on my YouTube channel, which showcases some stuff I've been able to do.

Hydra solo (2008):

Moonlight

My favourite stunter is DuKtape.  He inspired a great deal of competition when we used to stunt, and was a very forward-looking stunter.  To him, I owe many of my successes in hydra stunting.

So that's all I can say, really.  Hope you don't mind if I stick around...

SA Stunting Challenges / Showing off
« on: July 24, 2013, 02:24:19 PM »
Another personal challenge.  Yes, this stunt is old.  But, I don't think you've seen it done quite like this before!  If you've heard people call this "Viper Tunnel", it's because a few friends of mine back in 2006 named it after my username (as a joke).  It has since gained a little popularity amongst hydra stunters, perhaps through YouTube and word of mouth.  This video is dedicated to the hardcore hydra stunters who help make San Andreas stand out in the GTA series.  I've been doing this stunt for...maybe seven years now.

The video quality is sub-par, because I do not own a proper computer.

Both directions as fast as possible, with no contact, in one go.

Enjoy!

Viper Tunnel 1

First, some background:

Near the close of 2008, Shadowsniper, DuKtape (player from "Impossible Hydra Stunts" - Aug 4, 2007) and myself ("Viper Tunnel" Viper) were collaborating to create a hydra stunt video.  By 2009, we had landed over thirty original hydra stunts.  Many of these stunts were of world-class difficulty; not teasing - best of the best.  If you think Shadowsniper is good with bikes, watch him fly.  DuKtape's video is old now, but consider the year it was released.  If you haven't seen me fly, it's because I took down my solo - someone saved it here: Moonlight

The stunts we landed are still to this day, in 2013, unseen world-class original stunts.  We had hoped for a completed video in the year 2009.  Shadowsniper took responsibility of editing the video.  He started working on it, and he made great progress.  Something made him stop working, however.  Periodically, I have been trying to motivate him to complete this video.  It's now been longer than four years since the initial concept of this video was discussed.

I haven't considered requesting another editor, because Shadowsniper can edit this video perfectly.  He proved that with his progress in 2009.  I have spoken to him this year, but he continues to express a lack of motivation.  Grand Theft Auto 5 is releasing this year, so any potential audience for this hydra collaboration is quickly diminishing (most of it is already gone).  I told Shadowsniper he should finish the hydra video before GTA 5 is released, but I think he needs more motivation.

The video is easily ten minutes long.  By posting this here, I'm hoping people will express interest in seeing this video materialize.  I'm sure Shadowsniper will appreciate it, if people actually care.  Veteran players will like this film.  It's professional.  Shadowsniper has all the materials he needs to make the film.  Can you guys support him?  I'm out of ideas.  Thanks...

SA Stunting Challenges / 8-Track: -2 lap handicap, no contact
« on: March 30, 2013, 09:30:11 PM »
This is a challenge I set for myself.  I've been driving and flying in this game for a long time now, so I think I should have something to show for it!

GTA: 8-Track (-2 lap handicap, no contact)
