GTA Modding / State Of Liberty Multiplayer
« on: January 23, 2011, 08:30:35 AM »
Hey guys I was just browsing GTAForums and I came across a post by one of the lead developers on State of Liberty; they've brought on the creator of Vice City Online and completely fixed the problems that the modification used to have, AND they've also added online multiplayer. That means you effectively have the equivalent of GTA United in Vice City, and you can play multiplayer across all 3 maps in VC! SOL also includes it's own map mod, I've heard it's not bad either. Apparently it's being released soon, click here to view the topic.

GTA Modding / Alien City Stunting Friendly Release
« on: December 28, 2010, 07:49:57 PM »

Hey guys! I've noticed that a lot of people are having trouble getting Alien City to work with San Andreas, so I decided to make things a whole lot easier for everyone. Simply download the mod from the link below, and extract the 'GTA Alien City' folder to any location on your computer. Then, copy the audio folder from your existing San Andreas installation into the Alien City directory. To play the game, use the 'gta_sa' executable file to open Alien City, and then click on 'new game' to start playing. To play on San Andreas Multiplayer, use the 'a1_mp' executable file to open it up. All files are exactly the same as the default San Andreas versions (apart from the map of course), so there's no need to worry about custom vehicles or modified handling files.

This modification also includes Dannye's Ultimate SCM Mod for Alien City, but there's a problem. When you start the game, you will spawn in mid-air, and you won't be able to see the map until you die. The only way you can fix this is by committing suicide. You can easily do this by spawning a parachute (type "AIYPWZQP" ingame), enabling the jetpack by pressing 'C' on your keyboard, and then pressing the 'jump' key. This will kill your player, and respawn you in Alien City. Disable the jetpack by pressing 'C' again once you respawn. If that doesn't work, you'll have to parachute down to the bottom of Alien City, and die when you hit the ground. You can accelerate this process with a trainer by teleporting to the ground after spawning a parachute. Thanks to Nauthiluz for this trick. Another problem is that there are also one or two animation bugs in Alien City. For example, you start dancing when you enter a faggio/pizzaboy, which may be quite exciting, but can also be particularly annoying. Anyway, all that needs to be said has been said, so click the link below and enjoy!

VC Stunting Challenges / Ramp To Ledge Grind To Precision
« on: December 09, 2010, 11:39:06 AM »
Hey guys, I just found this a few minutes ago and I think it would look pretty awesome. However, it does look like it would be a little easy, and because of that I'm not too bothered about landing it. So, I thought I'd put it up here so we can race it and I can see what you think (PS. I know the guide sucks, I couldn't be bothered making an effort on it). Good luck :)

IV Chat & Support / Shadowsniper's IV Stunting Package
« on: November 02, 2010, 07:50:10 AM »
Hey guys, I've noticed that a lot of people on GTAStunting are having problems with GTA IV trainers - it seems that people are finding them overly complex to set up. When I first started stunting GTA IV, I took the time to ensure that I was always prepared, so I didn't run into these kinds of problems. This resulted in the creation of Shadowsniper's IV Stunting Package. This is a modification to Simple Trainer by 'sjaak372' from GTAForums. It's a very user friendly trainer with lots of different options, and it's especially useful when stunting. However, it can be time consuming to go through all the menus setting everything up, and some of the default options are not optimal for stunting. To solve this, I have modified the default ini files to enable god mode, midday and sunny time and weather, ghost town, never wanted, unlimited ammo, and the speedometer by default. I have also disabled fast run to prevent modded parkour stunts, and disabled anti-jacking to allow for team grabs. I have also included a 'Story Mode' version that disables everything when you don't feel like stunting. This works on all versions of IV, including EFLC. All of these options can be changed using the ingame menu, or by changing the relevant trainer.ini files. I constantly keep this package up to date, so you will never have to worry about downloading the latest files. This trainer can be used in both Single Player and Multiplayer.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE TRAINER AND STUNTING

Quote from: Shadowsniper
DO NOT USE 'ALWAYS GOD MODE'. This enables antifall, you should only be using special god mode (same goes for special car god mode), which is enabled by default.

DO NOT USE NITRO! You can find more details regarding this in the 'Nitro' section of this post.

Unfourtunately, you don't bail off bikes when landing in the water, no matter which version of godmode you have enabled. This is something I cannot fix, so I'll try and get sjaak to fix this in the latest version of Simple Trainer. Until then, if you think you're going to land in the water with a bike, jump off beforehand so people who view your replays don't mistake you for using anti-fall.

There's a bug in GTAIV multiplayer that all stunters need to be aware of. When you type a message, all of your replay data resets, so DO NOT type anything in the chat window until you have saved your replay, don't even open it. This can actually be used to your advantage, many stunters use it to reset their replays on every attempt.

Using the modded packer ramp is a very bad idea, just don't.

TLAD and TBOGT each have their own special vehicles, these can be very useful in stunting. TLAD has two very useful bikes; the Hakouchu Custom and the Double T Custom. The Hakouchu Custom is the fastest overall bike in GTA IV (although the Vader from TBOGT can go faster when doing a wheelie), and the Double T Custom is generally the easiest bike to grind with (depending on the rail). TLAD also has some extra chopper bikes which can also be useful at times. On the other hand TBOGT has the fastest car in the game (the Police Stinger), the best boat in the game (the Blade), and also the best all around bike (the Vader), as well as other features like the smallest helicopter in GTA IV (the Buzzard) and parachutes. I would advise anyone who owns the DLC to mainly use TBOGT for stunting, because there aren't many advantages to stunting with TLAD except for one/two bikes which are only worth using instead of the Vader on rare occasions.

Nitro

Quote from: Shadowsniper
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT USE NITRO! Normally, the maximum speed you can reach with nitro is exactly the same as you can reach without it, nitro is just useful for getting speed boosts to reach maximum speed where that would normally be impossible. However when using the trainer, you can exceed the maximum speed of any vehicle. You have more nitro in race mode than you do with the trainer, the GUI for the nitro canister is also different. In race mode, when you activate nitro it will use up your whole supply in one go. If you use the nitro from the trainer, you can use it in bursts, using as little or as much as you like. When you activate nitro in race mode, you get a visual effect where the vehicle will zoom away from the screen with motion blur, which you don't get when using the trainer. Using nitro from the trainer is modding and is disabled by default, so do not enable it. And if you do, everybody will know because it will show up in your replay. The trainer also allows you to use nitro in every vehicle, but by default nitro is limited to the vehicles you can select in the race menu (these are listed below). I will contact sjaak so that hopefully, he can solve this problem for future releases.

Updates

Quote from: Shadowsniper
11/04/2018 #2 - Fixed 'Special Car God Mode' not working correctly.

11/04/2018 #1 - Updated from 'Simple Trainer 6.2' to 'Simple Trainer 6.5'. Added a 'Story Mode' version that disables everything when you don't feel like stunting. Disabled 'MobileRadio' and 'NeverTired'. Disabled some more hotkeys that are commonly pressed by accident whilst stunting (spawn bodyguards, car alarm, interior lights, open/close car door, explode car, cruise control). These features can still be accessed from the menu, but the hotkeys are disabled to avoid problems. This does not support the latest IV (1.0.8.0) and EFLC (1.1.3.0) updates, owing to the lack of ScriptHook support. However, this does support support earlier versions of the game.

20/10/2011 - Disabled some hotkeys that are commonly pressed by accident whilst stunting (spawn attacking ped/driver, get taxi, no reload/unlimited ammo, superjump). These features can still be accessed from the menu, but the hotkeys are disabled to avoid problems. Also slightly modified the advice about TBOGT and TLAD's vehicles in the first post.

03/12/2010 - Modified the 'important notes' section, and added a section dedicated to the use of nitro (or in other words, why you shouldn't use it).

27/11/2010 - Updated the trainer to disable nitro and modified the 'important notes' section.

07/11/2010 - Modified the 'important notes' section.

In closing, I hope you find this useful, and use it for many years to come :). You can find out more about Simple Trainer by checking out the Simple Trainer topic at GTAForums. Post a message there thanking sjaak for all of his hard work!

Introduce Yourself / Shadowsniper!
« on: October 31, 2010, 10:37:14 AM »
OHAIIIIIIII!

Hey guys, I'm Shadowsniper. Many of you already know who I am, and it's no secret that I haven't been able to post on GTAS for a very long time, but now I'm back. I've been stunting since December 2005, with a few breaks in between. My actual active stunting time is more like 3 years. You can find me on YouTube at justanotheraccount by clicking HERE. There's been many controversies surrounding me over the years, so now I'm taking the time to set the record straight, and clear things up for anybody who's unclear.

1. Have you ever modded?

Yes! I modded some of the stunts in my first two VC solos, and my first TS audition which was leaked onto Putfile (note: this is not the final audition I made a few months later, as seen on YouTube). I also released a video in San Andreas called "Movin' On Up", which was modded (except for 6 stunts). My old "240ft world record" was also modded. The last time I modded a video I publicly released was in 2006, but the two leaked stunts "Shadowsniper Lands a Stunt in 90 minutes", and "SF Church Tower" are modded. Some people think that I've modded since then, but they're wrong.

2. Why were you banned?

Good question, one that has undoubtedly caused much speculation in the community. I was banned on the 2nd of October 2007 for 'splitting the community' as to whether I still modded or not. This was said by Kingjad, on behalf of the previous administration team. Later on they stated that I was actually banned for 'being an asshole' but of course, that is a load of nonsense. Aries (the head admin at the time) asked me to make a new account and come back on the SAME DAY I was banned, because apparently I'm a 'nice guy'. You can find the relevant MSN chatlogs later on in my post; you can open them using Microsoft Word or Open Office. I've never broke a rule on GTAS, so you've got nothing to fear.

3. I heard that Dan recently stole a few stunts from you, is that true?

Yes, unfortunately :(. A long time ago (I think in 2008), I sent him an audition I made to GLS. He stole four of these stunts and used them in his modded 'unreleased stunts' video. The stunts in question were the infernus bump in LS, the monster grind to precision, the packer wallride to candy suxx in LV, and the packer bump to chimney precision in LV (which I have since relanded to the front of the chimney so it's even more precise). If you don't believe me, click HERE to view the chatlog proving that he did. What an asshole.

4. Have you been browsing GTAS using a fake account? I've seen all your comments on YouTube, you seem like a massive troll.

Nope, you can view GTAS as a guest without any problems. I'm not a troll; contrary to popular belief, I do not believe that every stunter who lands high bumps is a modder. I'm actually just totally honest about my opinions, and I aim to be as constructive as possible. I try very hard to give people good advice that they can work with rather than just telling them that they suck. There was a time in GTAS where most of the videos coming out in San Andreas had at least one modder in, but nowadays SA has settled down slightly, and the quality of videos is beginning to reach the levels found in VC. So really you shouldn't see me making as many comments about modding as I used to.

5. Do you even stunt anymore?

I do indeed. I've got a load of videos coming out very soon, which have been worked on very slowly over the past few years. The first video I've got coming out will be released very soon, a hydra collaboration between me, DuKtape and Viper. After that you can expect to see my collab with SlayerUK in GTAIV, and VC/SA solos. There may be a few surprises along the way as well :).

In closing, I'm back and hopefully things have settled down nowadays!

Speedlimit 2

Here it is guys! Big thanks to Cooper organising this collab, for those of you who don't know what this is about who have not seen the first, this is just a nice little collab in which we use all the slow bikes of the game, no NRG, to break the mould of the norm. You can find the first Speedlimit HERE, this was a little longer due to the lack of reps sent for this.

This video is not about being the best, this vid is a video in which newbs and pros alike can join together, and make a funky, enjoyable and fantastic video to watch, and I feel that is what we have acheived. Cooper basically sat on this for 4 months and then gave me the editing job , took about 2 hours but don't fret! This is a solid job either way, so I've heard. It's here.
