Friends,

It has been another trip of an editing process with this one. It started off as an idea for a small, time-limited Vice City video that I was supposed to edit myself, and Darkstar would take care of the graphics and whatnot.
Then we figured why not make it a VC+SA video. Then we added V. Then we added IV. Then we added III. In the meantime we also cooked up the Advent of GTAStunting event...

Long story short, we definitely took it way past our initial idea as we got so many submissions from so many people in so many games to the point where it went from a one-parter to a two-parter but when it turned out it was gonna be a three-parter, Darkstar had to step in to help me edit the video. And even then we ended up with 4 parts.

Therein also lies the beauty of this community as small as it can feel sometimes, and being able to put all of those faces from all of those games into one big video for the Holidays is nothing more than rewarding and we hope you guys feel just as grateful to part of GTAStunting as we do.
 
An incredibly big shoutout to Sasha Dotterkletch for his animation work and many brainstorming sessions on the intro, Shadow for organizing the V side of things and recording angles for every V submission he got, Max for doing the intermission script and Rainbow for getting us through another round of selecting replays.

After 4 months of juggling our dedication to this project, real-life responsibilities and other activities, we are finally ready to present you the 2024 Vice City community video.

puzzLe:
After first organizing it in 2022 myself, it has passed through multiple hands before it got thrown (back) into our laps, and since Darkstar and I had done AERONAUTS together, we figured another big editing job split between the two of us would be a fun idea.
Since then this video has been nothing short of a grind to complete; from learning how to use Blender and Darkstar Replay Manager from scratch, to having to do so much post-editing work with technical difficulties plaguing you to the point you just want to go lay in bed and do nothing. (Or trying to post this thread and having half of it disappear because of the apostrophe bug)
Another gut punch was the realization that MaCi was not gonna be in the community video.
In 2023 he let me know that he wanted to use the stunt he sent in for the original community video elsewhere, being the SFH video. I was kind of bummed even though I could very well understand that he thought everything took way too long.
But after his untimely passing, that stung all the more. Which is why I have to give an extra shoutout to Cooper and Ltab for providing us with one of MaCi last stunts, and Theonly One for giving his blessing to actually use it, as this will be one of MaCi`s final appearances in a stunting video. MaCi forever.

Darkstar:
This project has been a rollercoaster of hype and dread, and honestly if it had not been for puzzLe continuously keeping a positive attitude I do not know if I would have seen it through to the end. I do not really have a lot more I want to say, I just want to thank every single person reading this, you help keep this tiny community alive. So, thank you, and enjoy the video!

Welcome!

Sheikah, Darkstar and I are immensely proud to present you something that's been in the works for a good 2 weeks now: the 48 hour collab Sheikah organized.
Initially Krypton was supposed to edit but realized he's way too busy with real life so he asked Simon and myself to take the project up.
Simon's working on a camera tool he really wanted to put to use in a video but other than that has no real prior experience when it comes to editing stunting videos, and neither do I except my little quickly slapped together map mod solo.
The scale of the project sort of terrified me personally but I decided to just wing it and make it a learning experience and along the way Simon and I were enjoying ourselves so much we even got comfortable enough to slap some skits in there as well.
We tried capturing the oldschool stunt video feeling, i.e. HypoKryts, Interlocked, etc. and I think it went pretty well on both our ends.

We received 91 stunts which we split evenly and completely random and both tried to make everyone shine as best we could but obviously some stunts made it to the credits and some didn't make it at all sadly, but it still turned out to be a dope selection of stunts that did make it in with the time and room we had.

We want to thank Sheikah for giving us both complete creative freedom and for even giving 2 editing virgins a shot at a huge video like this to begin with.
