Aero Reapers Video Releases / Re: [SA]Aero Reapers - Disruptive
« on: December 19, 2018, 10:08:47 PM »
Another "old stunter" here to say I feel sufficiently proven wrong about Biel and PM by this video and Enfermo :cc_detective:. I've been thinking about this for a while, but Biel's 45-60fps situation explains a lot about the little boosts in his replays, and although I didn't suspect PM until Unease (and the Nave shit in the past), I think bias got the better of me. Can't do anything except wholeheartedly apologise, my accusations and those of others were not deserved. Great video, especially for leftovers. The finisher was my favourite, but everyone did a good job :).

Thanks Biel . Just because I'm from the UK, it is subjectively more consistent. Also because I research GTA V stuff, I like to use MPH in SA for proper comparison :P.

Thanks MaCi, your stunt was dope too :D.

How many times did you actually land avalanche finisher SS? Also does anyone have a link to someone comparing time it took them to get to the bump vs someone else who modded that stunt? You seem crazy fast on that SS. Not accusing just saying it looks ridiculously quick.

Landed it 4 times over the course of 70-80 hours, bailing the second bump 3 times (seriously fuck the second bump). I don't think anyone has used the Packer extension in the past; you don't actually need it, but it helps turn some of regular edge attempts into landings. You end up with about 4-5mph (6-8kmh) more than usual by using the extension, so I figured it was worth it given the combo at hand :P. This is where live recordings come in handy though - if you test the runup using the same technique as I did, without any road bumps, you will reach exactly the same speed. You might even get slightly more speed, since I purposely stuck myself in a 99% RAD for the last two roadbumps; it helps make it more consistent, despite leading to a sliiiight speed reduction.

VaNilla's spots were the weakest. HHEHEEEHEHEE

How dare you focker :ninja:.

UPDATE:

looks so easy in the live recording. sick stuff

It kind of was actually, I got super lucky on the Naval Base stunt. I just thought about some spots that might be easier with the popped tire (which allows you to turn more easily while RADing without losing as much speed, among other things), and that stunt instantly came to mind. Spent about 10 mins trying with the standard runup, found the new one because the standard runup was too slow, and landed about 50 mins after that. So either it actually isn't so hard with more runup, or I got lucky as fuck . By contrast, I tried the Avalanche combo all day every day for a week - that stunt does not benefit from a popped tire since it just makes it harder to aim for both bumps. I feel more attachment to that one since I'm still not sure how hard the Naval Base actually is .

Great video guys ;D. Bart's stunt was sick as fuck, everything else was solid too. Figured I'd post my live landings as well. Enjoy :euro:.

Hmm Forest... I deleted that tweet literally 5 seconds after I posted it :P. I don't want to stop anyone stunting in VC/SA/IV's maps within V. My personal opinion as a VC/SA/IV stunter is that gliding feels good in GTA V, since it's been in that map from the start, but within VC/SA/IV, it feels like easy mode compared to what we had to do in the past. As a result, it can spoil spots people are still going for in these games, and make old videos feel less valuable. But that only matters to people who have stunted these past games; nobody else cares, and I'm not saying they should.

I'm not sure where I said anyone should stop gliding; I think you should utilise the full extent of GTA V's physics if you're going to use it to stunt the maps of past games. I just have a personal opinion about it; that doesn't mean I think everyone should follow my line of thinking. I've always disliked wallclimbs, and again, it's just my opinion. I'm not sure what else you're talking about in as far as "abuse" of other methods, but whatever :P. I've praised videos with poor stunts but enjoyable editing... I'm not seeing the contradiction here; it is entirely consistent with my view that the construction of the video is just as important as the stunts. I didn't come to shit on you or anything, it's just my viewpoint; I understand you just want to make enjoyable videos, but that doesn't mean that people aren't allowed to have an honest opinion about it :jajaja:.

Not bad guys, I agree with some of the comments though. As far as big-air stunts go, GTA V allows you to do far more than Vice City, but I counted one stunt here that was bigger than most VC big air stunts. I'm also not a fan of the 'wheelie into a wall' stunts, since they are mostly determined by frame rate. My main favourites were Lobbin's car stunts, and there's some other decent ones too :P.

Reynolds is on point, but this part is interesting:

Apart from this it suffers from the usual V video ailments: the video is too long and has uninteresting and boring stunts, like the parachuting stunt.

I think the issue is not that some GTA V videos last a long time. Many of the best stunt videos of all time last up to ten minutes, and some are much shorter too; it all depends on the content within. This better translates to "most GTA V videos don't have enough variety to justify being so long". That's not necessarily a comment on this video, just an observation as to not paint everything with the same brush.

IV Chat & Support / Re: Shadowsniper's IV Stunting Package
« on: April 10, 2018, 11:47:01 PM »
Time for an update! Not much has changed, but I have updated Shadowsniper's IV Stunting Package in preparation for the next version of GTA IV, to make for a simpler porting process. This should also solve menu lag issues on the latest version of Windows. This may or may not be the final update, depending on whether there is a version of ScriptHook that supports the next version of the game coming later this month. Who knows, there may be tangentially linked reasons as to why I have updated this as well... :ninja:.

Update #1: Updated from 'Simple Trainer 6.2' to 'Simple Trainer 6.5'. Added a 'Story Mode' version that disables everything when you don't feel like stunting. Disabled 'MobileRadio' and 'NeverTired'. Disabled some more hotkeys that are commonly pressed by accident whilst stunting (spawn bodyguards, car alarm, interior lights, open/close car door, explode car, cruise control). These features can still be accessed from the menu, but the hotkeys are disabled to avoid problems. This does not support the latest IV (1.0.8.0) and EFLC (1.1.3.0) updates, owing to the lack of ScriptHook support. However, this does support support earlier versions of the game.

Update #2: Fixed 'Special Car God Mode' not working correctly.

I was surprised to see it after such a long time, expected a longer and properly finished grind though tbh).

Tried to get a longer grind but couldn't manage it; it's much harder than it looks to stay on the grind due to the angle you're boosting from. Wanted to do it longer when I sent it for Anomaly/Christmas, but I ran out of time to spend in SA so I just sent it as is. Haven't visited GTAS in a while, but nice job on the vid :a-cheer:.

Stunting:

Taz - NRG Big-Air Bump to Billboard (00:22 - 00:33): Brutal opener; amazing stunt! 10/10
Burn - NRG P2B to Rail Building (00:33 - 00:40): Never thought of this; fantastic job! 9/10
Taz - Infernus Bush Bump to Bonk to Caligula (00:40 - 00:50): Just when I thought Bart killed this building, you owned it. 10/10
Burn - NRG Grind to Backwards Bump to Grind (00:54 - 01:03): Shame you lost this to Biel, but great job landing it. Biel's execution is my favourite, provided it wasn't modded. 8/10
Taz - NRG Grind to Wallride to Grind (01:03 - 01:23): Nice twist on an old concept, but I think it's a little soso compared to MeetMyMeat's spot. 7/10
Burn - NRG Packer Double Bump to Casino Building (01:23 - 01:34): Fucking nice stunt man! 9/10
Taz - NRG P2B to Building Bump to Top Landing (01:34 - 01:54): Excellent stunt; I was trying this naturally a while back :P. 9/10
Burn - Infernus Double Bump to Four Dragons (01:55 - 02:20): Loved it; I found this while stunting for ANOMALY, pretty fucking hard spot! 9/10
Taz - NRG SF Bridge Backwards Bump to Grind (02:20 - 02:36): Brilliant stunt, and it looks much better than leetcake's modded landing! 9/10
Burn - NRG Spin Bump to Wallride to Grind (02:36 - 02:53): So stylish; absolutely sick! 9/10
Taz - NRG Stairs Bump to Building (02:53 - 03:11): God damn... you're from another galaxy. 10/10
Burn - Infernus Double Bump to Huge Building (03:11 - 03:26): Insane stunt; it was a pleasure to watch you land this on Twitch! 10/10
Taz - NRG Bump to Ledge Grind to Breakable Spin Grind (03:26 - 03:35): Best version of this spot, and the best breakable grind. 8/10
Burn - NRG Hammer Grab to Grind (03:35 - 03:44): My favourite kind of stunts are grabs and grinds; lovely to see them in San Andreas! The spot and the speed of the grind was slightly underwhelming though. 8/10
Taz - Freeway Bump to Double Grind (03:44 - 03:57): So good! Must have been a pain in the ass. 9/10
Burn - NRG Bump to Wallride to Bonk to Grind (03:57 - 04:07): Great find; looks tricky! 8/10
Taz - NRG Big-Air Bump to Naval Base Grind (04:07 - 04:26): GOD LEVEL! Rochepeach ruined this with mods; great to see it taken back! 10/10
Burn - NRG P2B to Bonk to FleischBerg (04:26 - 04:32): Finally landed to the top; amazing work! 9/10
Taz - Infernus Fence Dropbump to Huge Building (04:32 - 04:38): Dan modded this, but your landing was wonderful. 9/10
Burn - NRG P2B to Quarry Building (04:38 - 04:47): Damn it, I really wanted to try this someday :euro:! Fucking amazing. 10/10
Taz - NRG LV Highway Bump to Massive Building (04:47 - 04:55): I'm comfortable with saying this is the best natural bump of all time, including VC and SA. 10/10
Burn - Infernus Double Bump to Massive Building (04:55 - 05:12): Just like Bart's landing, a truly incredible stunt. It's a shame that you lost it, but you did land it first! 10/10

Editing:

I was surprised to see that Taz made this; I was expecting JL to pick up the task. Good job man, you did pretty well! You never got in the way of the stunts, and it was constantly enjoyable. I liked the way you gave the stunts room to breathe; it was important not to rush through such masterpieces. As far as downsides go, the colours were okay, but a little boring in my opinion, and the while the finisher is insane, I think you should have finished the video with Burn's NRG P2B to Quarry Building. Thumbs up, you did your thing man!

Soundtrack:

Cool song; I think it worked well! Neutral point for me; I didn't love it or hate it.

Overall:

Wow guys, I'm blown away. You managed to land the best SA big-air stunts of all time, your car stunts were monstrous, and some of the grinds were brilliant. Burn proved he's one of SA's greatest stunters, no doubt; I feel like you've always been on the verge of the top 5, but you pushed yourself to a whole new level. Taz though... man you went god-level here, for real. My favourite stunts are usually not big-air stunts, I'm a bigger fan of super creative shit (not to say you're not creative)... but despite this, you might have just taken the best SA stunter of all time label. If I really had to nitpick you guys, the level of creativity/variety on show was a SUPER minor flaw in my opinion; I wasn't too surprised with the spots you landed, compared to some more unorthodox stunters, and while all of your stunts were amazing, landing some aircraft/boat/bicycle/cabbie stunts would have made for a more rounded video. But this video was mindblowing; I'm honestly shocked by how far you guys pushed the game. If this is the last high-level SA stunting video, I think GTAStunting has gone out on a stratospheric high point ;D.

10/10

Those who convinced me they had tried it extensively and found it to be impossible were SSU members, and obviously, many of the most skilled SA stunters are SSU members; I'm not speaking against SSU by any other means :P.

Video Link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILF5txZb-j0

Left replay = landing attempt. Right replay = edge attempt. For some reason, Biel's new replay is much faster than his landing; my attempt (and IceD's) was the same speed as his landing, which shows that his landing is the game's default replay speed. This could be related to two things; frame rate, slowitdown, or both. You can't rule slowitdown out, but since it can't be proven, you have to imagine there's a difference in frame rate causing this; I'm still curious as to why though. This try looks legit to me, replay speed aside, but it's hard to make any precise comparisons given the speed difference, so it's hard to say. Personally, I've felt that the spot is possible ever since I tried it myself, got close very quickly, and stopped listening to SSU members. I don't trust Biel though, for the reasons I listed with my previous video (none of which have been explained); not to mention a couple of his other stunts. Have fun guys, this is the last thing I want to provide to this conversation :).

Decided to fully test Biel's LV Fountain P2B, because I must admit, I trusted the SSU guys' bias too much, having only tried it a little myself. My findings show that the stunt may indeed be possible, but I can't confirm this for sure, having only got close. However, they also show that while Biel's live attempts may be legit (doesn't account for SACC, gravity, handling adjustments, etc), his landing in Unease was potentially modded.

Reading isn't your strong suit, I see. Nor stunting. You should be glad I try to prove myself wrong in these situations, and do my research, instead of making an opinion and sticking with it no matter what. Take Caligula for instance, I was wrong. Take this P2B, I trusted SSU members far too much and I knew it, so I tested it myself and got close. Yet somehow, I arrived at the same conclusions I made about you modding even after I tested your stunt.

You make a mistake, and get miles closer than highly experienced stunters who didn't necessarily make any mistakes. I have got close to your stunt (closer than any of those who told you they couldn't reach it), and analysed exactly how to do it. That's all I wish to say :ajaja:.

The speed isn't a big factor? Sounds like you're the beginner here; I already have got close . UPDATE: Something about your explanation is confusing to me. You mention that you mustn't "ramp to packer without lose speed", but somehow, it's okay to lose 11kmh in the runup, because "the speed isn't a big factor". Not only that, but you also lost 5kmh when you hit the Packer in that attempt; so you actually did the exact thing you said not to do, and still got your closest live attempt out of it. Aren't you contradicting yourself, "beginner"? ;)
