The big day has finally come for me. Half a year ago I realized that I couldn't be doing this for much longer, for several reasons which I would like to keep as personal but don't worry - it's nothing special really. To make it short, I want to follow my dreams to 100% and in order to do that I came to the conclusion that a certain thing had to be sacrificed. That's why I got myself Vegas in June this year, to edit my own best-of video. The tricky thing was that I had never edited nor used Vegas before, disregarded a couple of Movie Maker stunt films back in 07-08, so that made it extra fun to work with a new project! After finishing the best-of I found myself in a situation where I was waiting for several projects to be completed (Cold Sweat II, for example) so I decided to stunt for a solo since the moment I came back from the stunting break during editing, I landed two pretty neat stunts.
In order to make this solo happening this year as I aimed for, I had to close my critical eye and learn to be satisfied with less, and what you will most likely find in the solo part is a handful of slightly lamed, poor executed stunts but I must mention that I did my very, very best to get as close as possible to the perfect stunts. So if you start to mention that many stunts looked bad - I already know that, thank you very much, and you're most welcome to go and re-land them better yourselves but don't expect a walk in the park; if so I would have landed them better myself. In fact, I actually have a couple of great stunts which I think are some of the best I've ever landed.
Back to the editing, in which I found a new hobby but sadly it was the first and last "professional" edited stunting movie I ever made. I spent..I don't know, but at least 100 hours on it, since it both took me a lot of time to learn the program and because I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I wanted to use everything I liked about editing, I watched many videos to get inspiration and I had some favorite moments from older videos which inspired me to try them. My biggest inspiration sources has been
Theonly One, Tackleberry, Daffy, Herr-Dav', Rusch69..yeah, and many more great editors. I didn't want to do a basic editing really, the best of part was indeed quite basic with a few polished moments, but in the solo part I wanted to make something beyond the usual, something extreme but still laid back with a sense of humor and a lightened up mood. Something between repetitive and random, if I'd describe it but it's absolutely nothing random about anything, I've thought so much about every single effect and angle, and "extra" stuff that I wouldn't call anything random. More..experimental. After all, I made this video for myself and this will be the video I'll watch in a few years and be able to say to me and my company; "This is what I used to do, this is something I gave 100% for".
The moment you're reading this, all of my GTAStunting related msn contacts have been deleted. I'm terribly sorry for those of you who enjoyed talking to me, but I need to get this off my mind, and do it one hundred procent. I won't be active around here anymore, and don't try to contact me either because I will probably be very, very hard to reach. All my GTA's are uninstalled, I've collected everything stunting related on my computer and put it all into one huge fucking folder, and made a .rar of it which I'm not planning to open. I'm closing the book, locking the chest and leaving it to my memories.
I would like to thank everyone of you who stunt for a good cause, and those of you who will make sure this will keep on living in the future. More thanks are included in the outro :)

Wow, you nailed it dude. That was absolutely perfect, the amount of killer stunts was just insane. Hadn't seen all of your stuff so your best off was almost like another solo to me. So much great stunts, jebus. Second part finisher is wtf amazing. I really dig your style, it's really really good.
And you pulled off the editing like a boss. The first part had a feel good/sad feeling to it which really came over as you probably intended, together with that song. And the second part was so hilariously good. I love how you take a piss on brutal editing, yet at the same time are very serious about it and it worked so god damn well. Easily one of my favorite editings this year.
I hope you will be able to fulfill your dreams, enjoy life mate that's the best thing you can do.

Edit: Damn, that outro was powerful, I got goosebumps when my name popped out of nowhere. Such a fucking honor to be mentioned with those kind words in one of the best stunting videos ever. You're the man, MaCi - top class stunter and internet friend from the very beginning.
With that said I think it's obvious how awesome I thinik this video is. Will watch it over and over. I really dislike that second song but combined with the other two parts and the hilarious yet kickass editing it got a really cool feeling which I seldomly get from a VC video.

I have much to say. First, starting with the video. It is one of the best videos ever. It had the special feeling i´ve seen the first time ever in Red´s best of. You put hours of time in this super video, i really liked the editing. You put especially on the second song on every drum, a effect, which looked very awesome. Another thing i really enjoyed in this video, was the CC, which was indeed one of the best CC ever created in the history of VC editing. Secondly, the stunting level. As one of the few, you have that special style, with bigair and mini stunts, which look awesome too ofcourse. You everytime impressed me again with new stunts from you. Thirdly, thanks for the much time you spend with me on MSN. I showed you stuff from me and you judged it fairly. I see the world of stunting now with total new eyes. Oh, and i don´t forget, thanks too for sending a very cool stunt to the second part of my collab series called Overture. One last thing, thanks for being one of the greatest guys i´ve ever met on gtas, i just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU and good luck for the things that are coming in your live.

Amazing work, just blown away... the stunting still managed to amaze me even though half of it was a bestof... and the editing made it a complete masterpiece alongside these great stunts... quite a career, wish you the best in those future plans.

Really nice edit to be a first in Vegas.
About the stunts, many of them are not really my taste, but you stayed true to your style and that's what matters. Some of them I thought were okay, others I thought were fucking brilliant. The casino natbump, combo2prec between the bars on that sign, and 2nd part opener were amongst the favorites.
It was very weird to see a solo that contained some stunts I would never be able to pull off, and others that were very basic. I felt that either the stunts were very impressive or not impressive at all (but in those cases the style of execution and the idea usually made up for it).
All in all a video to be proud of, you're a fine stunter and a nice guy. I wish you all the best in whatever goals you choose to pursue in life <3
I'll always remember you as a positive guy, we've had some nice talks over the years ^^

You managed really hard to be affectionate, a good stunter and that's good. I really enjoyed this masterpiece within the first part because I really felt that emotion that you'll quit since I don't really know you but I know about you. Good luck in your life, wish you the best in your future plans.

I'm just going to get everything I need to get off my chest right now and I'll start with the downer so I can focus on all the positive.
You knew 10 of us in WH had landed that SAiVC Gap which were going to be shown in a Onslaught-like multiview and using that before the crew video was a huge disrespect to all our efforts, especially Jason's who spent a lot of time on it.
Though as I said, I get that you want to close the book on this chapter to be able to move on properly but properly also means not giving us a bitch slap.
With that out of the way here's the majority positive.
You're a fucking solid stunter, a tremendous person who exudes inspiration and dedication which quitting so boldly underlines.
You're a prime god damn example of how it doesn't matter how ridiculous the goals one sets for himself are, what matters are the effort and dedication one move towards that goal and how it will be achieved.
Having worked with you and collaborated with you is a privilege of the kind I haven't been experienced since working with WEREWOLF and those who had the chance knows exactly what I'm talking about.
You push people not by force but with sheer motivation which feels more like encouragement than being pushed and I know it's fucking genuine since you push yourself the same way.
The character you've shown is something that I thought our generation didn't inhabit whatsoever as I consider 99% of the people around me sad pathetic motherfuckers who has no willpower to achieve anything but a carbon copy shit-life like all the rest so weirdly but refreshingly through a video game which I consider escapism I've met someone who's given me motivation on a level which I'll apply for sure in real life.
And again the fact that you've taught yourself video editing on this level just for one video underlines it again and I fucking applaud you.
I'll end it there as I'm shitfaced beyond reason and have to get up for work at 4AM tomorrow.

Alexander, I've known for a long time that this day would come. Looking back a few years and we find ourself es in the same situation. It was a sunny day, we were out on our bikes and you told me that you gave up stunting. I was devastated, truly. But then again, I knew deep down inside me that you hadn't seen the last of stunting.
And what do you know? You became an active member again! Just a few years later. Unprepared for the big things you were heading towards. Member of the year, loved among the majority of the forum and a kick ass fucking stunter! I'm happy as hell that you're my IRL friend, not just because you'll still be around, but I'm also really, really proud of you. Pulling off things like this ain't easy, and I know how much soul, heart end effort you've put down in this.
This vid is a pure piece of what God himself is eating at the Nobel dinner. I can't describe in words how insanely great i think it is. Really, this IS the best vid ever created. The stunts, the editing, the music, it all fits in so great! If i could have sex with it I would (nah, that's gay but you get the picture.)

I now recall the times when I posted one of my first stunting videos here. Every single reply on it was simply pouring shit about how the video was bad (I won't lie, the video WAS bad, but that's not the point here), and then there was MaCi, who for a change didn't say a single thing about how bad the video is ... he told me several useful tips in a friendly and constructive manner, and also told me that I should keep it up.
Offtopic story aside, this is just one example (out of many) that proves how you are one of the very few people around here ever who, under any circumstance, would never treat someone the way he didn't want others to treat him. This is obviously the reason why you won the Member of the Year award, and why you're generally liked around GTAS. If not for your stunting, you should always be a behavioural role model for people around here.
I've talked about non-video related stuff way too much; so I'll just cut to the chase. The stunts were mostly all amazing, the way you put in a blend of creative but great looking combined with fucking massive is simply a unique feature of you because you always gave equal dedication to your spots, no matter what kind they were. My only real complaint here is the fact you released that gap BSM, that wasn't cool to the other guys... I mean, you know that with it being in Deviate II it'd ultimately get released. This way you've taken out the surprise factor out of it and the idea won't be as complimented as it would have been.
But back to the bright side, the editing was really impressive and it's a real shame that this is your last production. You would have easily progressed into one of the better editors around here, given all the stuff you've pulled off in your FIRST production. It's an incredible level of consolidated effort which just astounds me. Apart from a few complaints I've given you on the beta (which I won't reiterate since you told me that all the stuff I complained about you wanted to be there - a decision I respect as every editor has his own view of the project at hand) the editing really is near-flawless. I enjoyed the colours, the camera angles, and the effects which were all made to suit the song's mood and nothing more, which was a good decision.
None of the songs were to my liking - but that's really personal taste and I'm not going to go deeper into that. I know they're special for you since you've picked them for a video like this.
And... what one says as a overall rating of a video like this? Certainly your departure is a big loss to GTAS as well as WH. Solo of the year? Very likely.
I'd just like to give you a huge thanks for including me in the thanks list. I want to thank you back, for being one of the few that treated me like their equal when you were three levels above me; and for being a great inspiration and friend during our common stay in WH.
Last but certainly not least, as it is more important than anything I've wrote above - good luck in whatever you will be doing in life, and I wish you all the best.

Great vid MaCi :). Great stunts all around and that was the best first edit I've ever seen! The editing was actually better than 99% of videos ever released on GTAS, including those by some of the best editors on the forum :D. This was a great best of and a great way to go out, hopefully I can quit stunting as smoothly as you have someday with this video, good luck with your life and we'll miss you :)

This was an incredible video, you're deffinitely one of best VC stunters of all time or atleast in my opinion. You can do all the technical stuff, plus rock the big airs, all with so much style! This video was packed with amazing stunts, from start to finish. I couldn't believe this was your first edit as well, it was as though you had been doing it for years, was very complimentry.
MaCi, you're an incredible person. I was happy to have the chance to speak with you and even be in the same first crew (good old KST days, such fun times). I applaude the way you've stepped away from GTAS in such a big way, with a killer video. I will miss you, but I wish you the best with everything you do in life. its hard, its really hard watching this video and thinking about you quiting, you are just one heck of a beast, there is just too much stunts that blew me away to write down, but i just gotta say, i have fall in love with your saivc ledge at 0:55, actually, all of your ledge grinds, the editing was really calm at the first part, then it went to extreme madness music which i fucking hate, but this is probably the sickest editing to music i hate, so many epic ideas and effects, syncing couldnt get any better, good bye mate, you was such a nice guy to talk to and a great stunter

Second one amazed me, the editing was perfect, that scene after the Sanchez grind was brilliant, and that finisher... one of the best stunts I've seen in a while.

Funny to read it three and a half year later :lol: Still glad that you still keep going.
About the video, once again, I really really liked it, mostly because of the atmosphere. It really looked and felt like a real best of, emotional, filled with nothing else but amazing stunts, a good mixture of bigairs and technical stuff. And if I remember well it was your very first (at least serious) editing, because you wanted your best of to be the way you imagined. It cointained a slower part with a relaxing music and then, in the second part it was hard as fuck. The contradiction may was big but I loved it. I really respected you for this, and gotta say the video turned out not just personal but amazing too. It was really about you, one of the greatest best of in my eyes. :)
