GTA Modding / Re: Grand Theft Auto Stunting Island

Someone should implement those stunt missions in the normal VC/LC maps as well, how epic would it be to do challenges that way.

Haha yep, as everyone else I can't wait till the standalone comes out as well. I agree the mod isn't perfect but it still makes for some fun gameplay. I really hope they get rid of BattleEye and indeed get a better anti-cheat system.

So seeing as no one plays the mod anymore, at least add me on steam if you would like to play some DayZ standalone with me. Maybe we could make a little GTAS squad and wreak havoc in Chernarus :D

edit: lol forgot my steam name, it's igenyus

I haven't played the mod yet but I'm really excited about the standalone. I was going to buy Arma for it but didn't see the point if the standalone was coming in a month or 2. As soon as its available in public alpha I'm buying it!

Just some info for the people that don't know. The public alpha is on track to be released in June and similar to minecraft, you can buy it during alpha testing at a reduced price. The price will rise once the game progresses onto beta and release.
Yeah in that case it's a bit too late to get it now, got my copy in a Steam sale some time ago.

So, you guys know about DayZ? If you don't; it's a zombie-survival modification of the ArmA 2 engine and it's awesome. It is slightly buggy but once you get used to it it's just part of the gameplay. The only way to explain it is to watch some gameplay of it on Youtube, which I highly suggest you do.

I'm getting my new PC in tomorrow and then I'll finally be able to play it with good graphics and no lag. Are there any of you that play it and maybe want to team up with me in the near future?

Getting a bigger PSU is defo a good idea, 500W seems good enough. The 660 is a great budget card, but if you got the extra money I'd go for the 660ti version.

Wait hold on, I thought crossfiring means having two 7870 and combining them right?

Anyways, if the 660ti does the job then I'd have no problem spending the small amount of extra cash for it. I'll wait for Rusch's answer on my questions

crossfire the hd 7870
That wouldn't fit my budget, and it's not even necessary in any way.

- Get a cheaper case, the 690 II is overpriced imo. A HAF912 Plus or Zalman Z9 should do also.
- Use the spared money and go for a stronger GPU (no matter if AMD/NVIDIA, the Gigabyte Windforce series is good)
- CPU cooler wise I'd suggest a Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev A instead (idk if it fits the Z9 atm, would have to look up)
- PSU wise I'd rather take a bequiet! one, costs a bit more. But this ain't a component one should spare on.

CPU wise you won't be able to upgrade at all as the 1155 Socket area is gonna end with Intel's upcoming Haswell CPU family.
Thanks for the feedback, got a few questions though.

- I had the Zalman Z9 in my mind as well, might get that one instead then
- Which GPU would you suggest? (sorry but I'm not really at home in the hardware stuff)
- I found the one you mean but without Rev A, is that still the same? Also what do I need to look for if I want to know if it fits the case?
- If you say it's better then I'll put down the extra money, do you have a suggestion for which one to take? I already felt like the 520W I had now was a bit too weak, looking for 600W at least.

Is it worth waiting for the new CPU's then? Wouldn't that mean that I'd have to spend more as well?

Yo guys, I'm looking to build my own PC and try out PC gaming instead of the console I usually play on. My budget is around 1000 euros. I'm not really looking for the best of the best, just something that'll last my for a while at least (and pretty much everything is an upgrade from what I have now so yeah). Here's what I had in mind for my new PC:

QuantityProductPriceTotal
1Acer G246HLBbid€ 139,00€ 139,00
1ASUS GTX660-DC2T-2GD5€ 202,95€ 202,95
1Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced (USB 3.0)€ 79,86€ 79,86
1Cooler Master Hyper 412S€ 29,99€ 29,99
1Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB DDR3-1600 CL9 kit€ 43,14€ 43,14
1Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H€ 117,50€ 117,50
1Intel Core i5 3570K€ 201,45€ 201,45
1Samsung 840 Series 120GB (basic)€ 80,75€ 80,75
1Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB€ 54,85€ 54,85
1Seasonic M12II Bronze 520W€ 54,50€ 54,50
10 productsTotal€ 1.003,99

So what do you guys think, any changes that I should make? This is with a monitor, I'm also willing to leave the monitor out and invest the money in better parts if necessary (and just get the monitor later).

Gaming Discussion / Re: My FIFA 13 video series

Your 'Saving Scotland' series has got me to play a player career of my own. Never really thought it could be this much fun but playing as a CAM and trying to move the ball around creating chances really changes the way I normally play this game. Feels so much more like a real football match then when you control the entire team. Only downside is the AI, sometimes I get absolutely screwed over by my team while the other team doesn't seem to have a single problem.

Looks boring, sadly enough. Just another generic military shooter with semi-epic Hollywood story. I think I'll pass.

Oh and it's EA, so fuck it twice.
