Sliding on PC with keyboard
« on: July 13, 2015, 08:41:35 AM »
So I've been trying my hand at these slides people are doing. So far I've been able to start the slide but maintain it.

1. Bump
2. Lean back until bike is vertical
3. Turn sideways
4. Land on rear-side and slide
5. ????

Do I have to tap the wheelie button and tap the turn button? I've tried a few combinations and I just seem to always fall off.

By tapping A/D in addition to the lean keys, you give yourself more options to avoid coming out of the slide. However, sliding is far easier with a gamepad, because all you have to do is hold the stick in one direction.

I guess I'll give it a try with my controller then. I'm a lot more comfortable stunting with the keyboard (I reset the keys back to the same setup I had in VC) but if it's much easier with a controller, it might be worth using for slides.

Thanks for the quick answer

Gamepad's are easier for almost everything in this game :D. Good luck :euro:.

Rotate your fingers around, and press in this combination (and repeat)

1. A (LEFT)
2. Lean Forward (PGUP for me)
3. D (RIGHT)
4. Lean Back (PGDN for me)

Do this quite quickly and you end up sliding. The same applies with gliding. I find it ridiculously hard to stunt with a controller, so I'm sticking to KB+M. Cooper's teaching me how to glide effectively (mostly got the hang of it).

I agree with the controller being harder to stunt with. I like having the lean and directional input being separate.

That being said, it looks like quite a task to slide.

Holy shit, I can't even get into a slide with a controller. It's so imprecise having the lean and turn on the same input. I'm gonna have to learn on a keyboard.

Kudos to controller stunters, stunting with such a big handicap. :P
