Nvidia, their top and low range cards tend to overpower AMD's cards in the same price range, AMD have worse drivers and some games are optimised for Nvidia cards.

AMD because when your top-notch Nvidia card burns out the only thing that can replace it for a while is a cheap AMD

you know what to choose when you have to... I bought a HD 5770 because my friend had it so we plugged it into crossfire and played crysis 2 on full with like 50 FPS
nvidia has those fancy stuff like 3D vision, but if you are sure you don't need it, AMD satisfies you
