At least tell us what PSU you have, otherwise someone might suggest something that'll be too much for it.

I'll give you my monitor. It's basically a sheet of cardboard with some with wicked crayon flames scrawled all over and a square cut out the middle.

...but you're welcome to it  :cc_detective:

I'm going to assume that the psu and hdd you have are crap and just recommend some decent ones.

If you must buy from newegg make sure to take advantage of the 10$ discount for every new account, I've taken the liberty of separating the purchases for you, trying to maximize the bang for buck.

1: HDD

This would be a pretty decent budget gaming machine. That i3 is about even with an amd 955 quad, but it has a solid upgrade path unlike AM3. Video card also comes with a game that you could keep or sell..

Edit: price on the HDD went down by 10$ today

You do realize that the psu and hdd are some of the most important parts on a pc? So what psu do you have, and how old is it?
A crappy old psu can be way out of spec and kill all of your components.

Which hdd do you have? Because the hdd will limit the speed of everything you do. Using a small, noisy, and slow pata drive would be pretty stupid for example.

Is that a list of thing you're going to buy? Because I wouldn't recommend a single thing from that.
LGA 775 is a DEAD chip series, NO UPGRADES EVER, never, no more, nada, out dated. I'd only recommend intels sandy bridge at the moment.

There are people that are buying AM3 chips and putting them in AM3+ boards, and they're hoping to god that bulldozer will work on their boards when it comes out, but thats wishful thinking at best imo.

Finally give us a damn price you dingleberry.

Took the words out of my mouth. I'm more than 95% sure that your PSU looks a lot like THIS:

Guess what, odds are that it'll fry your PC as soon as you turn it on, because... well 400w is probably fine for a low/mid-end gaming PC, but if it's not a good quality and up-to-date power supply, your PC is nothing but a fried big chunk of metal and plastic. Nowadays, you should be looking at 80+ certified power supplies. And seriously, you should invest in a good harddrive, if not a solid-state drive... don't ask, just do.
