WH Video Releases / Re: NEM - OUT OF MANA
« on: March 29, 2022, 03:49:10 AM »
Great video! I enjoyed it even after all these years that have passed since I played the game.

Lovely to see people still play it and find new stunts (and I thought SA was out of new spots!)

I enjoyed the video, thanks for that. The SF grind from Burn was mindblowing, a few other made me go "wow". I was only missing some good old taxi boost. :) I am glad I came back to these forums after a while for this.

@Art its hardly possible to prove modding even when you watch the replays, slow them down etc. The game physics are way too unreliable to prove anything, you can only speculate unless someone is modding so blatantly and/or landing completely impossible stunts (rochepeach or whatever his name was, Dan, etc.). Look at Genyus, he was modding all the time and nobody noticed. It is only for someone who has a lot of experience with stunting to see for himself that most of the stunts in the past 3 or so years are modded, simply because SA ran out of big airs and stunts people land are impossible to land. But who can actually calculate and prove that with hard data? Nobody. You should just enjoy the videos and stop caring about mods - they've been here so long. You know, I can just play with my handling file, add something there, a little there, nobody will ever notice and I will land stunts that aren't possible with default settings. Even if this video is completely unmodded, it's as good as modded (which is still great, don't get me wrong), because it's impossible to prove any non-blatant modding in this game. It's close to a guessing game - a little proof can be that I have been accused of modding stunts I haven't modded and nobody said a peep when I did actually modded a stunt.

WH Video Releases / Re: JINX - The Best of Grescha
« on: January 19, 2015, 12:17:17 PM »
I watched it just now so sorry for the late reply.

First of all, I would like to say that I always liked your stunts and I always though you were one of the best "newer" stunters out there, if not one of the "all-time" best stunters. Therefore, I was really hyped for the incoming experience.

I was dissapointed for a few reasons.

First, the editing and the music choice was nothing too special in my opinion. Music is one of the most important sources of enjoyment (at least for me) and if you remember, back in the time, all those "legendary" videos had a very specific soundtrack. TMS videos, DC best of, Kaneda & Darkness etc. I know that music tastes differ, but you chose a way too plain music for the video in my opinion. It'd be a better choice to use something older and known, rather than this type of music, it doesn't make the video, it's just music behind the stunts. The editing wasn't bad, not at all, but it wasn't anything amazing either. I'm not saying you have to put shitload of effects into the video, but for a best of, it was rather plain. But that would've been alright if the music was good enough to carry it. The only "specific" music was the third song, that was a good choice. Also the editing got slightly better. Third part definitely most enjoyable.

Secondly, the lenght. It's a best of, I know you landed shitload of good stunts and wanted to include a lot of them, I know it is hard, but bands don't put 50 songs in their best of's either. It's much more enjoyable if you only put the very best stunts in, spend some time choosing the best and the video is long enough for one (two if necessary) songs. Which is about 4-6 minutes of pure stunting time, not including credits & intro. It was so long I actually had to make a pause in the middle because I got bored.

Now the stunts. Wow, that was the best part. You are an amazing stunter and every single stunt in the video was good. Some were better, some were not "best of material" but still good, some were astounishing. The poor choice of the first finisher was made up with the second finisher, what a great stunt. If only you put the "wow" stunts in a best of, made it 5 minutes. I wish. Why man, whyyy :(

That's pretty much everything for me. The video didn't have a specific atmosphere, it didn't have the "feel" and definitely didn't use the amazing potential it had. It barely stratched the possible potential of a best of someone this inspirative. It's a good video, don't get me wrong, but I will most likely not rewatch it, not just because of the insane lenght. I rewatch WH crew videos from time to time, I reward TMS, SS videos. This video didn't live up to it's potential and I'm very sad because I was looking forward to this and you are one of my favorite stunters.

Rating:

Edit: 7/10
Music: 4/10
Stunts: 10/10

Overall: 7/10.

e/ some typos

e2/  I read what you said in the first post of this topic and if you exclusively wanted it to be this long, that's fine by me. My opinion doesn't change though, I can't help myself but got bored because of that. The main thing is that you are satisfied though and it's just an opinion of one of the forum members.

WH Video Releases / Re: Wasteland Heroes - Savage - Final SA crew video

I came around this now, I hope I don't come too late.

I just wanted to say my words to this. It's modded, like every video, but I don't want to ruin the last video mood and will just say that I liked most stunts that weren't modded. Especially grescha is a beast.

I'm glad I got an e-mail because othewise I'd probably never come across this.

It's a very good video and I'm really happy about the fact that WH ended their 10 years long trip with a different video, than the usual SA modshow. I have to admit I never liked VC as much, but that's my personal preference and you guys made me enjoy the whole video, even though it's in VC physics and map. I always liked Daffy the most because of the creativity you bring into the stunting, rather than focusing on only one type of stunts.

To sum it up, great video. Enjoyed it a lot and props to everyone participating. 9/10.

OT: I read the previous reviews and as I've been away for a while - Mxz got kicked out of WH? I'll try to search after posting this but if anyone can link me the source or anything, I'd be glad.

e/ Oh, there's also a SA video. Will make sure to watch that one aswell.

I stopped caring whether a video is or isn't modded a long time ago.
How to lie - Step 1.

+ We stopped caring about you, your speech is always the same.

Although you didn't go on "AA MODDED MODDED" this time, which is great. You improved since last time.  :euro:

Yeah, I've learned that people on this forums are very sensitive (did you know people who commit a crime are most of the times upset if you accuse them, while people who know they're innocent don't care at all?). But you were right, it can be said in a nice "imo" way. I never lied about that, I never cared. I just used to point it out, which I gave up on aswell.

Anyway, I just felt like I wanted to give props to new videos and comment on them, which remained my only activity on those forums. I don't think my opinion is any less valuable and if so, then be it. And please, I understand you are an alpha male in real life, but I don't think you can speak for everyone on this forums. I know you don't like me, neither do I like you, so let's just not comment each other's posts, mmkay? I have even said the video is good lol.
An alpha male...

Trust me, that's not only my opinion. Most of the time, you come out of nowhere to argue with others on a video. I've got nothing against the fact you come to comment. And I just said you improved since the last time. + The fact you say the video is great doesn't change the person behind these words. And I never said I don't like you, I just reacted to your acts. (some times ago)

Nah, it's not me who was arguing, trust me, it's not what I want. I don't have the time and mood to be active on this forum, but I still feel like I wanna keep track of the newest videos, because I used to be active for a few years. That is why I "come out of nowhere" and comment only on videos. You don't have to trust me but I only express my opinion and there is usually someone who has to reply to me and start the arguing, just like you in your reply to me, that was just being unnecessary provocative. And I can't just let it go :/

I remember one single post that was harsh from me and I have already apologized for it in the latest topic, so please, you're not gonna change my opinion ever, unless you come to my place and stunt on my PC, stahp. It just always ends the same and people, who only know "me" from my latest posts, think I'm an asshole, just because I ain't one of those sheeps with 50 posts who'd adore even Dans or Scavengers stunts. I'd even start an argument how noone knew of those people who were modding but I don't want to ruin this topic & as I mentioned before, I don't care, as long as the video is enjoyable. You can put zero value on my opinions on videos but you're not gonna make me stop writing them. And I still feel like my words made clear I enjoyed the video however unclean I think the stunts are. No need to lie for me, really. I was always completely honest with my opinions here. I'd even tell you to PM me if you want to continue this pointless bullshit, and hope you won't, but I do everytime and still everyone keeps replying to the topic with OT.

I stopped caring whether a video is or isn't modded a long time ago.

Therefore, I enjoyed watching the video, edit was smooth and even thought this music is not my type, was a fine watch. Some stunts were actually good (grinds & sandking one). :a-cheer: I'd rate it 7/10 (maybe a bit too "grey" for my taste)

To people who want replays - I've done many stunts that looked just like some of those in the video (read: fucking suspicious) and they weren't modded, just as I've been experimenting with SACC and handling modifications and some looked cleaner when they were modded, lol. SA physics is just so weird you're not gonna bust anyone anymore since most people have developed such great camouflage tactics over the years.

I think it's time to stop whining and caring about modding. Either way, you're probably not gonna know 100% that a stunt is clean or not. And the time put into modding a stunt perfectly can be similar to the time needed to land an actual stunt. Let's just enjoy the video. If you wanna be big, go and learn how to mod. It's not that hard.

Editing:

really good job on this. it was nearly perfectly done, I mean, I havent seen such good work with a video in ages. It does not exactly fit my taste of how a stuntvideo should be edited (im a fan of oldschool editing) but I cant deny this was really good. Enjoyed every second of it, the CC, the effects, the simple play with camera angles. Good!

Music:

Was okay, not quite a fit for a stunting video in my opinion, but I didnt mind.

Stunting:

I was almost gonna pop a bottle for the first WH SA unmodded video until the finisher

No, just kidding, I liked the video stunting wise, however, it was not as good as the previous videos. Stunts that remained in my mind were: the Taz' SF bump, Flow had some good shit and I really liked Streem doing that grab thingy, grescha palm landing and the grind to palm from some guy I dont remember was a pretty good find aswell. Not gonna comment more on the finisher, I dont want to throw hate without any reasoning behind it, just my opinion. Kinda missed Daffy and some more WH classics, but whatsoever, it was good. Oh, and correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the stunt from (Gaz?) in LS, by the hospital, where he uses mtb and goes on the rail and grinds it after, old? I really feel like someone has done it before, possibly with a BMX. Pretty sure it was Kert or Arnax.

Overall a great video, especially editing wise. 8/10 I'd say, even though it was good, somehow it missed the "classic WH video" feel, prolly because of less amazing stunts than usual and a different editor.

To make it clear, the video is really good and I would rate it as one of the best videos Ive seen lately, but the reasoning behind me not giving it a 10/10 or 9/10 is just because it does not feel like every previous WH video did to me. Gotta admit Beat did some good inovation though. Is there a reason Daffy didnt edit or stunt in it?

Edit: corrected some typos and also UndeadX had a great infernus stunt there.

SA Stunting Challenges / Re: Huge spots giveaway

Because if you share a spot via skype with a few friends, you give them the right to land your spot and use it as your own spot :) while if you share the spot there, the spots are no longer "good" enough for someone else to land them and use them as their own, they basically became "old", because a the spot is a big part of the stunt overall, its not just the landing. I mean, wouldnt you be dissapointed if you knew the stunts in WH crewvideos but you just havent seen them landed?

Thus someone who might just couldve had two of those spots landed and found by himself and was going to use them for a video, could be really sad about this, while at the same point, it doesnt really do much good, except for giving away a few nice spots to land, because they lost a part of their value, because they dont seem that hard to land (different from some super big air stunt or something really tricky which itself is really valuable by just being landed). Im not accusing anyone of anything or telling you that you are dumb for doing this, just saying it might wouldve been better to not share it.

As i mentioned I dont really care, its just my point of view, nothing mean there. I just dont consider this a really good idea. Btw just to make sure I wont be making any videos as Ive stopped stunting, I still have a few landed/unlanded spots which are not old tho, and I decided to not share them for the exact same reason ^

Modded again ...

Just kidding, this was amazing. I mean, in such a short time you guys managed to do those impressive stunts is highly appreciated by everyone Id say. Taz and Daffy by far the most impressive stunts, also Darkstar did one stunt that made me go "woah".

I havent played GTA V but it seems like IV physics - not so good looking and not that good for stunting, but time will tell when it comes out for PC. (Im thinking this because nobody basically did anything in IV which looks similar).

Great video, best stunt video in V (lol)

I hope more videos coming out soon!
