I've tried Paint.net before and I don't think I liked it.

Thanks for the links by the way, I think you can actually download free trials of PhotoShop as well

Hey finallight maybe you know what my problem is.. I used to use WMM to render clips of my current stunts but now it doesn't work anymore . If I put the clip on the timeline the PC just reboots. No idea why. Vegas works tho

I've gotten my wmm2 to work now by using this http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-Issues-Acceler...and-Codecs.html

What I did was go to Tools > Options > Compatibility and unchecked every codec that ended with .ax

The easiest way to reverse .avi clips for use in WMM is to use the application below.

http://www.xander.free.fr/info/Time_Reversal/

Click the above link and download the application by clicking Téléchanger !
Extract the program onto your computer and double click it.
Click the Parcourir... button and search for the clip you would like to reverse, once the clip is found click Open.
Click the Reverse Avi ! button and wait for the clip to reverse.
Once the clip is done reversing a box will pop up confirming that the clip is done reversing. Click OK.
When you are done with reversing, click Quitter
The reversed clip will be in the same location as the clip you picked to reverse.

It will not overwrite the original clip.
It will not reduce the quality of the reversed clip.

The new and hopefully better Border + text (nametag) tutorial.

First you will need to make a border. To do this you will need an image editing program that supports transparency such as Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.net (Links to these programs are in the first post of this topic)

Open your image editing program and make a new document at whatever resolution you recorded your footage in, such as 640x480, 800x600, 1280x720, etc. There are quite a few ways to make a border. For a simple border you could take a large square brush and run it across the top and bottom, or you could color the entire document and erase the mid section so bars are left at the top and bottom. If you'd like further help regarding the making of border images please ask in the Expression Section

After you have made a border image save it as border.png and place it in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\shared

Code: [Select]

<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="256"/>
<Param name="HorizontalAlignment" value="left"/>
</Paragraph>
</Title>
</TitleDLL>
</Titles>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Copy the above code and paste it into notepad, save it as "Border Plus Text.XML" or similar. Be sure to add - .XML - to the name or else it might not work. After you have saved it, go to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\shared. Make a new folder within the "shared" folder and name it "AddOnTFX" Put the file in the new folder.

Restart WMM, and go to Tools > Titles and Credits > title on the selected clip. Type your text in the box, then click on "Change the title animation" look for "Border Text..." and choose which one you want. click "Done, add title to movie."

You can also change the font and color of the text by going to Tools > Title and Credits > title on the selected clip > Change the text and font color.

The above code places your border image over your video and allows you to place text on the top right, top center, top left, or the bottom right, bottom center, and bottom left of the border. If you just want to use a border without any text on it, just leave the text field blank when applying the title overlay.

The following images are examples.

Thanks for the Border Code, it helps alot. I prefer to use WMM2 over Vegas, because Vegas makes my CPU usage go up to 100%

^ A great site for WMM effects and add ons. It spans time-delay effects, transitions, Colour corrections and more. I reccomend this website!

Direct Download Link, so you don't have to give them your email to receive the file.
