Tree of Life
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:26:02 AM »

So yeah has anybody since this movie yet ? I'd like to hear some reviews about it, I've been expecting it for a long time and still haven't took the time to go the theaters to see it.

Malick only released a few movies in his long carreer, so each one is kind of awaited as a messiah every time. Don't know if you're into cinema around here but be sure to watch it in an open-minded, contemplative spirit and not as a typical distracting movie since he has been inspired by poetry to make this movie. (Else you'll most likely sleep according to the strongest critics)

Critics are divided in between master-piece and dull movie, sign of good movies in general. Anyway it has won the gold palm at Cannes this year, might be biased with Penn featuring in the casting and being the previous president of the festival

Movies described as "dull" end up as my favourites. I'll share my thoughts after I see it.

I'm really waiting for this film. I try not to get my expectations too high, but damn it seems to be one vast piece of art.

I'm still waiting for a few friends to finish their exam till I can see it, should have seen since a whole week starting to be annoying.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed Brulla, Malick has done amazing job ever since he started producing movies and this one doesn't seem to interrupt his state of grace.

Will review as much as I can express with my limited english vocabulary once I get to see this living poem, anthem of life.

Haha good one The Big Tree but no it isn't   :cc_detective:

Did this work back then Brulla ? Just tried and it led me nowhere, wouldn't have watched it anyway since I need both good video and audio quality to truely enjoy a movie  :euro:

Been waiting to watch this every since I watched the trailer. I just hate how german theaters don't ever show movies in their original language....if they did I would probably go to the theater more often.

They don't ? Seems weird, in France we have subtitled version in 1/3 theater, luckily, I just can't watch the best movies with the awful dubbing.

Seriously, for instance, Sean Penn sounds like a castrated duck who likes motorbikes.

Saw it on a film blog (/Film, to be exact) and it didn't work when I tried it either. I think it was legit though.
