Work Sleep Dream (my game)
« on: August 09, 2010, 08:15:52 AM »

Hey all,

I thought I might share with you a small game I made at university earlier this year. It was a capstone piece for my folio submission for introductory programming class. It isn't anything profound or even difficult but I am really happy with it. Those who know me will not be surprised with the audio/visual and thematic ideas I went with.

If you have any questions about it feel free to ask :)

It's a small file (6mb) :http://www.megaupload.com/?d=77SBR2LQ

Enjoy! :)

It took too many hours of programming for me to be on drugs whilst making it. I do enjoy the visual style of alot of psychedelic art though so I probably copied them subconsciously

If you get a chance you should definitely check out Animal Collective's ODDSAC. I don't know if there is a bootleg of it somewhere – I was lucky enough to see it earlier this year at a screening attended by Avey Tare and the director. I think you would find it amazing.

Is that the Melb Uni intro to programming? Perhaps I'm getting confused, but when I did that all we got to make was a fucking dictionary search function for UNIX terms.

edit:
Found a trailer. Apparently there is a DVD planned at some point.

@m3rrix I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Animal Collective joint. I'm already massively into their tunes. I'm at Swinburne Hawthorn these days, started a new degree in Games Development. Found my passion and followed it really

Wow. That sounds awesome man.

I ended up in Geography: I'm researching an art/design co-operative in Manchester and trying to bend their practice to fit my politics. It's a lot of fun.

Arts/Science. The degree for people who don't know what else to do.
