C&C Red Alert 1 (free & online)

Anyone remembers this old shit or am I already too old? :P

Command & Conquer is a real time strategy game. Basically one just builds a base, creates units and destroys the enemies with them, simple as that.

I have been playing it on PS1 and later on PC a lot many years ago and had good fun. As my mouse is currently broken, I digged up games which I can play with graphic tablet as well and I totally fell in love again. The game is now freeware and does have a decent online multiplayer mode which offers teams and up to 8 players per map. One can also create own scenarios with a map editor.

The game installer is just 23 MB in filesize and is actually the only thing you need. If you want music and all the singleplayer content such as cutscenes etc. as well, get the 3 .exe files and simply run them in 1 directory. Download is right below:

The game is from 1995 and should run on every Windows OS. You might need to execute the ra95.exe (singleplayer) or cncnet.exe (multiplayer) in an older Windows mode and as administrator.

If you have no experience with the game I do not recommend you to try online matches straight away as the overall skill is really high. However, if you want to, execute the cncnet.exe file and click on "Multiplayer Game" in the main menu. Then click on "Network" (NOT "Internet" !) and you should be straightly in the online lobby where one can insert a name, pick a country, a color and join a match or simply host an own.

If any of you GTAS people wants to give it a shot, hit me up (PM/MSN) as I'm always up for some multiplayer action. I'm also not on the level of those online cracks and basically just have experience from singleplayer and a few offline multiplayer matches (Skirmish mode), but it's still good fun though. :lol:m also not on the level of those online cracks and basically just have experience from singleplayer and a few offline multiplayer matches (Skirmish mode), but it
