It was amazing. It's hard for me to find a good movie now and it was definitely one of them. 10/10

Better than I expected. I initially thought the CG route for a studio movie version of Tintin was a bad idea, but seeing what Spielberg accomplished with it changed my mind. It's a great action/adventure and puts me in mind of Spielberg back to his roots. An overall great watch.

8.5/10.

And....it sucks. Actually, that's probably a little harsh. There are elements that work in the movie, but it's dragged down by appalling pacing. There are just way too many lengthy segments in the film where pretty much nothing happens. None of the flaws are helped at all by horrible casting of the main character also. The movie bares his name - this should have been the most critical part of pre-production, but what you get is an emotionless actor playing what ultimately turns out to be an emotionless protagonist.

Good effects, great sound and some first class art direction, but in the end the movie lingers in the depths of being simply ordinary. Which is fine, but for $250 million, you'd expect something extraordinary.

4/10.
