Grand Theft Auto Stunting League Thre3I felt that the second installment of the GTASL went well when all things were considered. I thought that the double elimination format was a good idea and that all in all things went pretty well. I will try to preserve as much of that as I can in this, the third version of the GTASL.
This is NOT the official sign up sheet. I just want to finalize the rules and guidelines beforehand and I would like your input. The rules are as follows:
Format:- Double elimination knock-out style tournament for VC and LC.
- Each match will feature two competitors in a one-on-one match
- Each match will be decided by a panel of judges (hopefully 5).
- Each judge will make their selection and the stunter with the most votes will move on.
- The amount of time participants will have will depend on how far into the tournament you are. Matches will get longer as the GTASL goes on.
Signing Up:- Ok, this is where it gets a little confusing. I would like to design the layout of the brackets such that no competitor would have a first round bye or go through any type of “qualifying rounds”. This means that the number of participants must be either 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, etc... This unfortunately means that some may be turned away.
- To fix this, I will set up a waiting list for the following batch of competitors. For example: If 20 people sign up, the first 16 would be entered and the remaining 4 would be on the waiting list. If 4 more join the waiting list (bringing the total to 24) then all 24 can participate. See what I mean about confusing?
- Interested stunters should PRIVATE MESSAGE me and include their player skin and the following information:
- Name (as it appears in the GTASL)
- Experience (how long have you been stunting, please include month and year if possible)
- Crew
- Recent vids
- :OPTIONAL: Any miscellaneous information (could be stunting related or not). You can add any info you want, from any stunting methods you invented, any crews you started to really anything interesting about yourself you would like to share.
- VC, LC or both?
- For each match I would like to do a brief intro video for each stunter (I have a feeling I will soon regret planning this).
Want to Help?- If you are interested in being part of the GTASL3 but do not wish to participate as a stunter, I can certainly use your help. I need 4 additional judges and someone to make a Flash animated bracket. I will also need some folks skilled in making sigs, userbars and eventually some type of trophy.
Judges: - There are a few requirements to being a judge:
- First, you need to be a member of GTAS for at least 9 months (although this is flexible).
- Second, the ideal judge would have no personal biases toward any particular stunt or stunter. They must be fair and impartial at all times.
- Third, the ideal judge would need to be able to make difficult decisions and do so in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in termination of your judging duties.
- Fourth, you must be a GTAS member in good standing.
GFX:- If you have skill in GFX, I need your help. Experience in Flash is a huge plus.
- First, once the bracket is announced, I will need a flash animated bracket set in such a way that a user can click on a match and be taken to the thread featuring said match. I have also kicked around the idea of adding music to it as well.
- I will also need some help in making sigs and userbars for participants and winners. PRIVATE MESSAGE ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!
Rules:- These rules will be strictly enforced and violation of them may result in warnings and suspensions.
- No arguing or flaming
- Stunts must be completed within the time given between the time the match begins and the deadline. STUNTS PERFORMED OUTSIDE OF THIS TIME WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
- Stunters must submit a rep and an optional video of their stunt
- The judge’s decisions are final. You do not need to like their decision, but you will respect it. Do not hassle or harass any judge either on GTAS or through personal messages (this includes MSN). Violators of this rule will be dealt with swiftly and harshly.
Modding: - The following mods are not allowed:
- Grav mod
- Steed mod
- Reality mod
- Any mod which affects the physics of the game, this includes mods that affect the placement of structures and those that affect the handling of vehicles
- Any accusation of modding must be made to the judges immediately. The judges will then confer and only through a UNANIMOUS decision will the offending party be disqualified.
- Dannye’s SCM is allowed along with any lonely mods, 24hr sunshine mods, spawners and distance limiters.
