Does anybody know anything about Silw? He disappeared after the USS crew video, and I have been missing him since then  :(

Well, well, are you reading something about mountain climbing ? It could mean a carved grip/carved plug in such context.
Maybe it is about photography ? Then it might refer to a made-up shot (metaphorically).

Or even... I don't know, seems like some specific vocabulary, mind posting the original article, text or solely the whole sentence ?

It's about climbing so I am guessing the first one. It's about a hold on a short route that should not be included in the harder version. "Sans la prise taillée" is what it says in the description. But nothing more so that doesn't really help xd

Well, I guess you got the most important : you mustn't use this grip when doing that particular route. Therefore, you must determine which one is specifically carved, or the ones who's helping (too much) on the way to the top ?

I have only climbed twice indoor, so my knowledge on the subject is limited, and layering it with English Vocabulary makes it even harder  :euro:

Basic research led to a more accurate traduction : chipped hold

In the Fontainebleau's forest (if I'm not mistaken, you did travel to Fontainebleau some period of times ago, right ?), seems like he may only use the natural shape of the rocks, without even thinking about deporting himself to the right !

Fucking Bravo Clément !

So you figured out I was talking about La Balance ha. Google doesn't deserve a "fucking bravo" but just a "bravo" though  :P Yes I travelled to Font a few times now, actually saw this problem (what you call a short boulder route) being attempted once. I also figured out which hold not to use btw. If you click on the lil' video on that page you notice a so called "jump start". Now on the same page there is a link to the original "La Balance (7C+)". Looking at that video there is similar start but jumping with one hand and the other one in the "prise taillée". Fucking bravo Clément!

 :cc_detective:

On a side note, you were right about not deporting himself to the right, but there is a similar problem which goes to the right anyway.. "La balancette". I am trying that the next time I go there just to see if I can ever percieve of doing it  And yes only the natural shape of the rock. The first person to pull a jackhammer on that to make it easier is gonna have a bad time. Probably the same jackhammer to the nutsack.

EDIT:// Bleau.info is my homepage btw  :euro: I read and clicked on that exact page probably over 100 times already.
