I always considered kaneda to be king of taxi boosting but I think that position has been usurped. Insane, utterly insane.

Kaneda is legendary

This is just so unreasonable.

Amazing video Lior and not a single filler stunt in there. It was like watching finisher after finisher.
Splendid job on the editing Max you can't go wrong can you.

Easily one of the best taxi solos and up there in the greatest solo category ever.  :ajaja:

You all forgot about Dreamtime by Rainbow.. but still Excelsus is best ever made taxi solo for now.
I watched this with opened mouth, that was awesome, really.. Insane ideas. I knew how long you performed this video and it turned so crazy in terms of stunts and editing, it was cool, so cool! Great job!

So many impressive and out of the box (in a good way) stunts it's hard to point out all the standouts, i think my favorites were the grind to the slanted roof landing in VC's downtown and the boost off of kenji's casino. Those were not only brilliant ideas but also executed flawlessly, but so were many of the other ones. You certainly have a unique approach to taxi stunting, it made for an engaging watch all along.

I enjoyed the song choices and the editing, my only complaint about it is that there was too much cutting/build-up going on at times which made the stunt less exciting to see because you could already see it coming, but aside from a couple instances of that i thought the pacing in general was great, and the camera work was excellent, well done Max

Congrats on sticking to the idea of making a solo through all these years and even making it a 2 part one in the end. good shit

Fantastic video man, the amount of time and effort you put into this solo definitely shows! As others have mentioned, it's certainly among the best taxi themed videos ever made. :ajaja: I really enjoyed pretty much every stunt in it since most of them were boosts off small walls/tricky objects and/or ended with a precision - these are more appealing to me than just climbing up huge walls, so yeah, great job! :P

Also kudos to Max for the clean editing, it's nice to see that you're experimenting with things, it was a really pleasant watch! Also loved the colors! :cc_detective:

Nice solo man, amazing precs here.
I really liked that creative stunts especially: 4:20, 6:34 that run up  :ajaja: , 8:08 great idea, 8:26 no comments, just epic shit here. Good and chill edit from Max. Good job!

Intro

Nice, chill and not too long either. Liked the added sounds such as the driving sounds and such. Did you grab that 'change the tunes man' from the game audio files somewhere? The spinny car thingy where the background changes after the song switch was well executed, liked that as well. The thing that sticks with me the most though is the thought that we definitely need a new MO logo, because that was the worst part of the intro for me  And I reckon you did the scripting yourself here as well, noice  :)

Stunting

Boost to Moist Hotel top: Nice approach to flip the car early, otherwise this boost becomes impossible. Execution with the spins was awesome. Great choice to start the video with.
Dropboost to black top precision: Don't think this precision was landed much with taxis in general, and this was a good find. Have to admit the first 90 degree tilted camera angle was a bit hard to watch.
Prehops to boost to sunshine autos billboard: One of my favorites, looks great and must be tough to land. This precision hasn't seen much action either which adds to the coolness.
Flat taxi boost to blue precision LS: Nice one. Unrelated question but nobody landed that lower precision behind it, right?
Linerunner boost to boost to precision docks: Very cool find and a great execution as well! After what Barney did with that vehicle I thought that was it but apparently there was another cool use.
Waterside dropboost to billboard: Also one of my favorites. Gotta get the angle juuuuust right on the transition to fly towards the billboard (at least that's what it looks like). Always a fan of those waterside drops.
Stadium boost to airport tower LV: Looks tough. The edges on the tower help a bit but knowing the zebra a bit it will bounce out 99/100 times  Can imagine this one must have taken quite long to nail even if others look harder. Good job on this.
Grind to boost 2 precision: First off, nice transition between these two stunts. And the stunt itself was also very nice of course. Had two ideas for this precision but I can just delete those spots now because this is the best way out of those three. Great one.
Boost to blue precision near pier LS: Think this is old in SA right? Most likely tricky to land but not the biggest fan.
Military fence boost to red bridge precision SF: Another low fence boost where you have to preflip the zebra otherwise it doesn't work. Looks annoying to land, nice job.
Big boost to orange casino LV: Right before the landing I thought it was going to be the precision and I was already on my way to jump out of my chair when I realised it wasn't, but that was my bad  :euro: Looks like 1000ft+ but boost to just roofs isn't my favorite unless the boost was out of the box.
Boost to doublegrind cherry popper: Eyyyyyyyyy this was awesome. Never even considered that second grind to be useful as a grind. Stylish transition hop as well. Looks very tricky. Awesome stunt.
Prehop to smallfenceboost to orange precision: Would've never found this, ever. Was looking for new cool ways for this and this certainly is one of them. One of my favorites, excellent find and stunt.
Kenjis Casino boost to Barney precision: just going to name it that because I always name it that  :ninja: but anyway, had to rewind this boost to watch it again because I had no idea this was possible. Holy moly the air you got from that boost, have to try this one myself. What a killer. Execution was fucking perfect as well. Tied for favorite stunt of the video for me.

Gigantic boost to park pit precision: Never been a big fan of landing anything in this pit but from a reliable source I heard this was 1200ft which is just a bit mad. Nice one.
Cool set-up to watersideboost to stadium antenna: This is the other one that is tied for first place for me. Awesome from start to finish and excellent execution. I think both Mateus and I have done similar set-ups to get to certain walls but this one is much better imo, what a freaking great find. Okay maybe this is my favorite, Kenji's has been demoted to second place.
Wrong side taxi boost to bridge precision: must've been annoying to do, never really experimented with it because it was too annoying haha. Liked it, and nice execution as well.
Boost 2 TurBo bridge: ye you get to have your name for this bridge  :cc_detective: Cool one.
Another boost to black top precision: Better than the first one imo, awesome job. And another great transitions from Max into the next stunt!
Palmboost to roof: this is what I meant by 'I'm not a fan of a boost to just a roof unless the boost was out of the box' because this one sure is. Very nice find! And nice camera transition between the two angles when landing on the roof. Great stunt.
Palmboost to construction site precision: Not the biggest fan, and somewhere deeeeeep inside I want to say I've seen it before but I'm probably wrong. Looked very cool though!
Boost 2 glitched taxi hit 2 letting it fall onto the precision: Haha, I knew you were experimenting with doing something with those glitched taxi's in mid air. Very cool! Think you showed some screenshots or whatever quite a long time ago.
Guest stunt(s) by Max: Not the biggest fan either, sorry. Someone did it with a bike or car before if I recall correctly. Transition to this stunt was very nice though, again  :) Shows real intention behind the cameras you chose which is good to see!
Vertical boost to bridge precision: I tried to do many things with a bike there until Barney had that leftover replay in his Unusual Cruelty replays. Never thought this was doable like that with a taxi, good find! Liked it.
Junk yard double grind: this is the sort of stunt I expected when I started watching this video, awesome stunt and awesome execution. More of this!  :a-cheer:
Boost to precision firestation: Another good find, looked around this area but once again your movements to get to a position where you can get a good boost are what makes it doable. Great one and nice execution.
Turbo's Real Estate boost to roof: Would've never spotted this if you hadn't said I would need to look at the finisher to find the easter egg Max  :ninja: So thanks for not making me waste my time not finding anything haha. This is one of the stunts I knew you were trying (and landed I see). For me it was a bit of an anti climax since this falls into the 'just a boost to roof' category but I'm just a shithead when it comes to that  :euro: There were better finisher choices imo. It was a video with lots of awesome out of the box thinking and then the finisher fits right in the middle of the box  It's still a great stunt for sure don't get me wrong!

Editing
Just going to throw the outro in this category as well since I have to continue work sometime soon  I already named a few transtions and things here and there in the stunting part so I'm skipping those but this edit was very nice indeed. On a few of the big stunts the hang time maybe wasn't too obvious, like on the LV airport tower it was hard to get an idea of what the stats were. Other than that I enjoyed it all, and the music selection was very nice and very fitting. Nice last scene of the video as well! Be careful with those extremely tilted cameras though like on the second stunt and some in the credits. There is a fine line between a nice tilt and hard to watch  :euro:

I never thought landing that satellite dish with taxi was possible, same goes for the lighthouse in Noire's finisher. It still surprises me that you guys landed them with such non trivial spots.

Yeah all dialogue/sound effects of the game are in the audio folder, there is a directory that lists most of them here:  https://gtamods.com/wiki/Audio_directory_(VC)

Also thanks for all the positive comments about the edit! Major shoutouts go out to MtS for teaching me how to script, without him this project would have taken much longer to complete.

This solo was so great it even lured out long-dead stunters! Sad to know it wasn't enough for a comment by SS.
On a serious note, it was really amazing, you seem to do these boosts so conveniently I believe that this is easy. My favs are definitely: the stadium satellite landing, crazy combo to get there; the boost using the palm back to the hotel (also I liked how you set up the spot with those jumps beforehand); the first part opener (really stylish landing) and the stunt at 4:32 because the side of the fence just fits the size of the taxi, it looked so cool and the landing was great as well.
The video couldn't be this good without this editing. Max delivered once again, really pleasant atmosphere, cool songs, all in all a very enjoyable video. So great job both of you!

Caught this at work on a teeny-tiny phone screen YT window. Just re-watched on a bigger screen and I'm glad I took the time - a little screen in no way does this vid justice. It's so great to see Taxi stunting not only still a popular type of stunt, but an evolving one. So many of the stunts in this vid proved that you don't need a high flat wall to nail a great taxi stunt. Sometimes a 3ft fence will do just fine. Tonnes of variety, tonnes of neat precision landings (which can be pricks to get) and a tonne of ingenuity.

I've always maintained that stunting is 90% luck and 10% actual skill - but having said that, knowledge and experience of the way the game works can give you a huge advantage in bringing that luck about a little easier. Excelsus is a vid made by guys who know the game and how it ticks - particularly when it comes to taxis, which can be fickle beasts at the best of times.

Editing was smooth and well executed with some nice coded shots (I do love those) and a general "ah, we're just havin a laugh" attitude, which is great. It's prompted me to delve into MO's back catalogue and see what I've been missing out on.

Great work, guys. It's lovely to know that this stuff is still being made.
