Right. This thread is for me to post my computer specs, tell you what I'm going to buy, discuss my dilemma's etcetera. Please refrain from telling me what do to, and keep all fan boy/uneducated talk out of here. I will just delete posts which aren't serious or start with 'OMFG GET THE PWNAGESAUCE'

Motherboard MSI Nvidia Nforce 4 K8N. (Socket 939). Nothing really special about it, it's good enough for most components out there today.
HERE is a product page of it.
Processor AMD Athlon 64x 3000+ (Socket 939). This is my downfall, 3000+'s aren't exactly the most powerful you can get, but they aren't too bad either. I have a possible problem with it though, I'll explain later.
Graphics CardPoint of View Nvidia GeForce 7600GT 256mb DDR3 PCI-E. As you will know, this graphics card is very good, probably the best part of my computer.
RAMI've got 1.5gb of DDR RAM. It's good, nothing much to say really.
The problemI cannot record in VC on 1280x1024x32. Which I find slightly odd, because I should be able to no problem.
That is also with the Nvidia settings (Application controlled off) on 2x AA and 2x AS.
When I got my new motherboard, about a year after getting the processor. I was pressing the processor into the slot, and I bent like 6 pins. Of course I shat myself there and then, but after regaining control of my bowels I managed to carefully bend the pins back.
I somehow think that has come back to haunt me, and it slowing the speed of the processor down a large amount.
So now I need a new processor, I start to look around and notice the 'Heat' has gone off Socket 939's. Which a while back were like, the best socket. All focus is on AM2. I want an AM2 socket processor, but of course that means getting an AM2 motherboard to work with it.
That would set me back at least £150, which yes I have but I'd rather not.
What's your opinion on my situation, do you know of any good solutions? Any processors you could recommend, any motherboards you could recommend?
Input please
