SA Un-Modded Video Releases / [SOLO] "Hold The Colors (2023)"
« on: April 26, 2023, 12:04:48 AM »

;D Back with another solo, this time with a brand new editing software used! ;D

Made this mainly to test out the new software...

Stunts after the first two are reused from other vids

As always, feedback would be appreciated!

This is a redo of my first stunt montage!

Check it out here:

Enjoy!

Good effort! I have some suggestions for future videos, that may help bring in more comments/views going forward :euro:.

  • The best stunts have clear goals, and stand out for bringing something unique to the table. Stunts where you bump and land straight back on the road or get some random spins typically don't stand out, because they aren't associated with interesting landmarks or new concepts. Spots are most interesting when they can only be done in a handful of locations, rather than being trivial to copy and paste all over the map. You don't get responses like "I LOVE how Interface used the Ferris wheel (random example) to do that amazing new method!" if the stunting zone is fairly nondescript and uses overly familiar techniques, so I'd suggest using more stand out landmarks on the map and experimenting with more unusual methods to find as many new spots as you can :ajaja:.
  • The editing was generally tightly paced and focused with good clarity, which was nice! But the introduction was quite long and it was hard to see what was happening, so I started losing interest until the main part kicked in. I also think interspersing multiple stunts together often just reduces the impact of them all, rather than lifting them up together, which happened a couple of times here in my opinion, it's usually best to show one stunt at a time. Great editing is half the battle and I think you're on the right path - beginner stunts with elite editing (and vice versa) stands out a whole lot more than middling versions of both .
  • Biggest thing of all: quality over quantity. I think you're right to make a bunch of videos when you're just starting out, because you need to experiment and get feedback to improve. But I think you're posting so many videos that people kinda know what to expect going in, which makes your videos feel like less of an event. If you posted less frequently, and used that time to improve the quality of your stunts in particular (because your editing is generally nice and clean already), I think that would do wonders for your videos! :P
  • Keep going as long as you still enjoy stunting, and don't worry too much about validation from others! Suffice it to say that social butterflys don't usually end up frequenting stunting forums, so don't feel let down if people don't always reply to your videos; they probably just don't know how to give the right feedback, since they're used to watching stunters with vast years of experience. I honestly think you should try finding a group of new stunters to make friends and collaborate with, so you can come up together and have fun pushing each other forward; that's how most crews got started in the past, allowing their members to focus on landing their best stunts and collecting them together for one big video. That way, you wouldn't need to land roughly 20 great stunts yourself for a solo, you could focus on landing 4-5 high quality stunts instead, and if you had a group of 4-5+ people doing the same, you could pump out some really dope videos when paired with stylish editing .

Hope this helps man :cc_detective:.

Appreciate the feedback dude!

-From now on my videos will be far apart for sure. I've noticed myself that a lot of my videos, I land a few stunts that I really love and want to show off to everyone, so that ends with me doing filler stunts like the BMX / spin moves, stuff that I find cool and worth keeping, but I definitely agree that I shouldn't do that- I'm not too good with patience and always end up giving up on a TON of spots after an hour of trying it with no luck. There are a ton of spots like that and where CJ just keeps falling off the bike which just leads to frustration and losing motivation in finishing the video. That explains the filler stuff.

-I agree, the intro ended up not turning out how I'd of liked it to. During editing the intro was nice and bright, but for some reason exporting it just made it really dark and I was like... whatever. I'm not exactly one who likes doing intros/outros and just wanted to try something new, so I wouldn't expect anymore after this one!

-I've tried asking around for collabs and partners and such, have already done 2 collabs, but haven't found anybody worth starting a crew with. The main issue with this is timezone, whenever other people are on I'm mostly asleep (US - EU/etc), so it's really hard to just talk about this stuff with someone. Back then this would of been easier, yeah.

Once again, I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you so much! ;D

Back with another solo, this time with a lot more cool edits!

A Halloween special, inspired HEAVILY by "I'd Rather Be Surfing", a childhood favorite stunt video that I'd ALWAYS watch and LOVE the editing for! The stunts in the video won't be too crazy.

As always, feedback would be appreciated, and Happy Halloween guys! <3

SA Un-Modded Video Releases / [FINAL SOLO] "I'd Rather Be Skating"
« on: April 22, 2022, 08:40:01 PM »

Back with another solo, this time it's my final one.

After doing stunt montages for about 8 months now, I decided to stop after just losing interest in it, but that doesn't mean my last one won't be awesome! Here's a 10 minute stunt montage featuring stunts from all of my other stunt videos, as well as never before seen stunts from me. The "I'd Rather Be Skating" title & segment is a reference to one of my favorite stunt videos ever, "I'd Rather Be Surfing", that video is super nostalgic to me!

The title is also true in general, I'd much rather be skating  ;D ;D

Enjoy, and thank you for watching my stunt videos, may you all stunt forever, please?

The VaNilla's First Lip Trick thing at the end is a little throwback to their 2005 SA stunt video "Wheels of Steel" where they do the same thing, with text saying "My not yet famous lip trick!", I just thought I'd throw in a little nod to it! I wonder if VaNilla still comes by and remembers?
