Can't start VC.exe
« on: August 10, 2008, 10:39:00 PM »
I just downgraded from Vista 64-bit to Vista 32-bit for better driver compatability. So I installed Vice City and when I run gta-vc.exe I get an error saying "Grand Theft Auto VC cannot find enough available video memory" The thing is, it did work with Vista 64-bit. Any ideas?

Im pretty bad at all these Operating systems and what not, but on this forum i read about "dual boots" and what not. Could you install both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions, and swap when you wanna play VC/do other stuff?

As i said im quite newb at this stuff so i could be WAY off

Thing is with 64 bit my Sixaxis controller doesnt work and with 32 bit I haven't gotten VC to work. And I want to install XP but supposedly I would have problems with drivers so I wanna sort that out first. Thanks for the suggestions though

Alright new idea and new problem. I decided to make a dual boot with Vista and XP. So I made a new partition. I then put in the XP disc and reboot the computer. I boot from the CD and after it loads the drivers it says Windows is starting setup (or something like that). Few seconds later, I get the bluescreen of death.

EDIT: Wow I updated Windows (for some reason it didn't work earlier today) and now VC is working fine!!  I still need help with the VC thing though.
