Abstract Background[/color]

Step 1: Create a new document (I'm using 420x120). Press D to reset the colours, then navigate to Filter > Render > Clouds, you should get this:



Step 2: Choose the Gradient tool, and select the default colours. Change the mode to difference. You can now drag the gradient an crazy as you want, until you get something you like. This is mine:



Step 3: Press CTRL + J then navigate to Filter > Distort > Wave, leave the default settings but click randomize. Set this layer to lighten. I got this:



(You can repeat steps 2/3 as much as you like!)

Step 4: Here is the colourized version:



Done! Here is my outcome:

hehe i use the difference gradient a lot  it has so many random uses lol.. i might have to make a new tut myself soon

@ B6199 im not sure ho in PS but in the gimp go to : right click > layers > colours > colour balance and select highlight i suppose
