GTA V prediction
« on: October 30, 2011, 07:11:08 PM »
Alright, Took me like 20 seconds to think about this and it seems like a good one...

Because that V is off of an indian dollar note, and everyone is saying that V will be in San Andreas, I believe that the protagonist will be a man of Indian decent. Woo Zi Mu perhaps is a good friend, or maybe a mortal antagonist of this new indian protagonist. Since Indians usually own casinos (sorry for the stereotyping), it'll set mainly in Las Venturas (like how TLAD was based in Alderney, and how TBOGT was based in Algonquin.

Then for the DLCs if they are any, one could be based in San Fierro where mob business is dealt. Because that the Caligulas Casino is owned by the Sindacco Family, and later the Leones and Forrelis, the Italian mob could do something along the lines that tie back to what CJ did at one time or just go back to the casino theme. Another DLC could be for Los Santos. Maybe a vigilante-like storyline that also ties in with the casino theme, maybe a prequel to the main story that leads up the the current events.

Anyone want to build up on this idea, or even agree? I think its a good prediction! Whats yours?

Whaaaat? I heard that the "V" was based off a 1907 note. You think it's Indian?

I think it's extremely likely it'll be set within San Andreas based off the rumours, and that's exactly why I expect it to be something completely different. Rockstar never make the obvious choice, so we'll see what happens soon enough.

With so much buzz about it being set in a fictional LA type city, I'm guessing that's where it will be. Buzz surrounding highly anticipated games is almost always right. Personally I thought it might be Miami again, expanding on the surrounding areas to incorporate the everglades and locations such as that. Maybe even having a section of the game take place in Cuba.

We'll find out soon enough, I guess.

I was hoping for Miami. But with all the extensive work they did with LA Noire it would seem to easy to set their neXt gta in LA. It would be a little strange to see a new area. Like say, Chicago for instance.

Few more days for a trailer!

I've heard that a couple times now - that the work done creating Hollywood in LA Noire would make it easier on Rockstar to set GTA V there. There's a stark difference between 1940's Hollywood and modern Hollywood. I guess the era hasn't really been revealed yet, but considering work begun on GTA V only weeks after IV's release, that suggests they would have had more than enough time to work on a new city without having to resort to hand-me-downs from LA Noire.

I would have liked to see something outside of the US. Tokyo would have been nice, or even South America. Having the game repeatedly set in America is rendering it a little stale. Different cultures, landscapes and cityscapes would freshen it up a little.

You can get to millions of different conclusions by analising the details of the trailer!
I say we should wait to the second trailer to get more specific conclusions :P
