Fuck that shit. DS trailer is so epic I am just sad that it already showed the stunts completely so it's a bit hard to count as trailer.

Fuck that shit. DS trailer is so epic I am just sad that it already showed the stunts completely so it's a bit hard to count as trailer.Yes.. but why not, btw. that aren´t the Stunts that i will use in the Main video.
Darkshadow's entry wasn't even a trailer D:mhm.. it´s wasn´t ? i think it´s a Trailer but another style of trailer not a trailer you often see in TV or by Beat. Only because i show full stunts that isn´t a trailer anymore? But okay, it´s your opinion ;)
I know I shouldn't comment until you both post final entries but it's quite weird to use in trailer stunts that won't appear in movie. It's like showing scenes from Batman in Spiderman trailer.Fuck that shit. DS trailer is so epic I am just sad that it already showed the stunts completely so it's a bit hard to count as trailer.Yes.. but why not, btw. that aren´t the Stunts that i will use in the Main video.
Why is this ALWAYS happening to me? I'm fucking hating it!
I left my rendering for 14 fucking whole hours, i get back home and it says "System low on memory" I NEED A QUICK FIX? I don't have much time left of the day, as it's 4PM here, but I need a render setting that won't give me such fucking error.
Holy fuck drakshadow you crazy bitch :|
I will confess something, when I first saw you joining to the tournament, I thought that you wouldn't even know how to record a clip properly and won't even make it to the second round (I got sometimes these kind of thoughts about people  ) but now I can say you totally closed my ass-mouth and I'm spechless, you gratefully earned my respect, my friend :)
Best Of Phamus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGrF1lR8rO8#ws)Oh god! Phamus, i really really Love your edit  One of my Favorite Editors from now! ^^
Darkshadow:
First of your trailer. Little intro of it was great. All effects were really awesome too. It was fast and exciting... and nothing like trailer. You showed a few stunts and that's it. Don't get me wrong, as a separate entry, it would be neat. But considering the fact it was meant to be a trailer to an actually entry it was a little off challenge.
Now, getting to your final entry. I actually loved the fact you somehow manged to put together entry with trailer, creating this short intro. It really was a nice touch. And then, fast-paced editing part - mind blowing. It was truly amazing. I loved the twitching and fast, black flashes. It must have taken a fuckload of time to do. Good camera works as well.I dislike usage of text (lyrics) in editing but it was minor flow.I fucking loved that, and the pacman eating CJ was funny as fuck  The fact you used that computer generated text just like you did in trailer, added to resemblance yet again. Now, the calm part. Great camera works, lovely looking sun, well picked soundtrack. A pleasure to watch. Ever since 2:50 though, you did one thing I can't really understand. You used this effect (simple velocity i suppose), that makes everything look smooth and a bit fast. But it doesn't fit the track at all. Also the very ending seems rushed, like you ran out of ideas.Thankfully, the song makes it actually quite reasonable to do that.Maybe a good ending would've been awesome with some angles all over the city, like with a night time and the daytime as you did in all the parts, just my opinion :P
Overall, quite disappointing trailer, especially since no stunts from trailer were used in actual video. For me it was good that he didn't used the same stunts as in the trailer, I don't really know I suppose it's because the ethic between trailer and final entry, because if he used the same stunts as in the trailer (since they were already kind of fully shown) it would've been boring as hell. Solid entry though, that started out fairly amazing and ended a bit oddly. But editing itself was pretty damn awesome.
Phamus:
Now, that's a proper trailer. It certainly lacked some excitment at the endnah it fucking rocked but it was kept in trailer-fashion. Good camera works, everything fits with the song. Good start.
The entry. A bit cliche of an opening with those quotes but it builds some tension, making you want to view the rest. Fast-paced part was quite enjoyable. I disliked two things about it. You used daytime and made camera works a bit too close to the player. Darkshadow used nighttime in his entry and it fits this type of editing better in my opinion. Also, he managed to make exiting editing while keeping camera works clear. Next, you did this videogame type of thing. It was awesome. Really, at first I thought it would be pretty cheap but it turned out just great. Something fresh and outside the box. Very nice touch. The calm part. It was nice. I really enjoyed a little beach intro, looked great. That part was a bit boring at some points, camera works were again a bit unclear at times but in general it was very cool. Then there was that short, third part. Nighttime! But camera works, well you know. It was nice but boy, did I expect an explosion of editing after the "Best of Phamus" text. Outro had this really nice quality. I loved the background generator and the font too. The text itself was not to my taste, very cliche. But I'm not the one to judge that.
That was some fine editing. Trailer as well as entry. Just like darkshadow, you made ending of the video a bit boring but still, thanks to great previous parts I can say with all honesty that it was really awesome.
Congratulations to you both, you made it to the final and you proved that you're some of the best editors on this forum. I'm really glad you both put a lot of heart into this final piece of tournament. It's really difficult to pick a winner. I'll go with the one I think did better job in editing matter. My vote goes to Darkshadow, as he seems to have excellent taste in editing. But your entry was almost equally awesome Phamus. Good job both of you!
I would just say fuck it and let's go and search some cheap slutts, but I will choose PHAMUS!!1!!4
I think he has the biggest potential over here, tons of ideas, lovely taste in songs and a great skills in eveything. I feel really sad about not choosing drakshadow, since he also seems to be the same as phamus, a great taste in songs, awesome editing skills and not even forgetting these little touches that you both gave to your vids, like computering coding shit in DS' entry or the big variety of CC's in phamus entry.
Great job to both of you, your race till this place was nothing easy and I see you will both success in eveything you are going to do, both have potential, motivation and a godlike skills and you shall not waste 'em. Love you guys xoxo
Sorry guys, I had no internet for a whole week (RAWRWARAWR)AND YOU COME BACK ONLY FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY?!?!
I'll edit in a sec with my vote. Also happy birthday to me
None.
I asked someone really special to us to give his vote.
YEY FOR FRANCO
Well here we go:
Phamus:
Trailer: Really enjoyed the idea you wanted to create here, but this trailer is just random for me. The only thing that was in fact related to the final video was the name at the end. Besides that, some nice angles and cuts, loved the sound effects and the music used. Disliked a bit of the camera shake near the end with the glass breaking soundfx, didn't look very well done and ruined the end of a well produced trailer imo.
Entry: I have to agree with some of the judges, by saying these quotes are cliche(ish), but I personally love these kind of introductions, they were well timed so I could read them all, so it was a good build up, specially for a Best Of video. The first part was lovely, great fresh looking fx'ing, amazing colors and decent angles. This showed a great taste and good variety.
The videogame'like menu was a good choice although it made me think at first: "Oh no, not a videogame menu in a ET finale..." But you made it work REALLY nice, good job, the flow was good, loved you skipping the other editors, the variety of options and the good sound fx'ing rly sold the feeling. I did not enjoy the Calm part as much as I thought I would... Maybe you could've worked with some better angles on this part, as it is the key aspect you can work on when trying calm editings, but it did look good. The ending was a bit rushed but very well done again, with some nice choices regarding fx'ing and angles.
The final message is nice (and in portuguese fuck yeah), but also cliche(ish), and these ones I didn't like. But it's not my job to judge this, they were again presented very nicely and well timed.
Overall I gotta comment on the epic sync you managed to pull out on this entry, every single effect looks like it had a lot of effort put on them so great job man!
Darkshadow:
Trailer: Oh well, gotta say that this was way more well executed then Phamus' trailer, but the idea here wasn't fit for a trailer, I wanted to be teased for the video, and what I got was a big chunk of the video itself, with complete stunts, that even greatly presented didn't match the feeling of a good trailer. It started amazingly with that great desaturated look, with the cops surrounding CJ, the NRG being thrown for him and a good relation to the intro of the video itself, yay for Death Eaters (if that was your intention, if not, disregard... haha) But in the final video the CJ went off in a Lost'like smoke and didn't use the NRG that was thrown for him at the trailer so... Okay, let's move on to the Entry.
Entry: Great intro, loved the well done fx'ing and the correlation to the Trailer. Great start with some great ideas on that soundtrack, that even though is not my particular taste, worked well. Going through to the fast paced eletronic'ish beat, some epic sync, like Phamus. It started to get a bit repetitive right by when you finished this part so thumbs up for right timing. The calm part is what made this video better in my opinion. It was amazing man, loved the angles used, great looking colors and what's up with these nice particles? What a great touch, it made this calm part even better!
Thumbs down for sudden finish... When I see a good video finishing, I know it's almost there, reaching its climax. Couldn't believe you jumped to the credits so abruptly... Credits were simple as simple can be, rolling text, not atractive at all but effective. Overall this was a great video, with some nice variety of effects and great ideas that were well presented and performed, but the end of the video pushed it down a little bit.
After watching both entries, and if agree'd by the contestants, I present my vote to this epic SA Editing Tournament Finale. I gotta congratulate both of the finalists, that made some epic work, specially considering the short deadlines. Appreciated it even more that they were some new faces in editing for me, which brought a great fresh feeling to the videos.
For the Intros I think it was a Tie between a better idea from phamus compared to a better execution by Darkshadow. It comes down to the final videos: I belive that the overall outcome from Darkshadow was better then Phamus' video, specially on the calm atmosphere, in which Darkshadow's work outstood the most for me. So my final vote for the winner of '12 SA Editing Tournament Finals is:Darkshadow
