Stunting Problems!
« on: October 19, 2011, 09:25:52 AM »
Hello friends, I've had the same issue with my computer for years now, it sucks! It's old, I'm still running windows XP and I haven't updated anything on it. Basically, nobody uses this old family computer and I've used it for stunting, editing and that's pretty much it. My problem is that every time I start up the machine it takes almost half an hour to get into VC with all the protection stuff that pops up, I've tried updating everything and once I do it still remains slow as hell. It's a real piss off when you have inspiration to stunt and it takes you half an hour to get the program running. All I'm asking is if anyone has any suggestions to help me so that my computer wont run so slowly?

Thanks in advance!

Format and re-install XP in your comp and don't update or install any unnecessary crap and you'll be fine :P

I think most people would google Windows 7 Repository and illegally burn an ISO to CD, install Windows 7 and use Daz's Loader. I wouldn't of course.

while i be here what video did you make that used the clincher by Chevelle? I distinctly remember a grab on the ramp 2 palm in VC.

Have u tried to shut down some stuff at task manager that may take too much memory? Or go start->run and type msconfig and block all startup programs that arent necessary. This might speed things up abit

Try to disbale non used programs via msconfig. I also suggest you to download CCleaner its free and its a very good program to keep your pc clean. And defrag your pc!

"CCleaner is the number-one tool for cleaning your Windows PC. It protects your privacy online and makes your computer faster and more secure. Easy to use and a small, fast download."

For defragging i use
"Use Defraggler to defrag your entire hard drive, or individual files - unique in the industry. This compact and portable Windows application supports NTFS and FAT32 file systems."

good luck
