Need Modellers for Game-Project
« on: November 11, 2007, 07:19:43 AM »
Heya folks, I know we have (recently got) some talented modellers on the forums or people who think about learning. I started making a game which will be a clone of EA's Skate.

The engine is written (will be written) ontop of WinApi, DirectX8 (Visual Basic 6), PSP Firmware 2.00 and PSP GU (GNU GCC). (e.g: running on PC and PSP).

The map must be huge, so I spent the last 2 days on my tablet drawing a simple layout

Map Layout:

//PS: Oh yes, as usual, I can't promise that this game will be finished. I plan finishing it in March 2008 though.

//Edit: 12-11-07: Updated 3D Buildings, map layout changed again, most houses were split into a few smaller ones after testing first stuff with high-quality models.
//Edit: 17-11-07: Rewriting the render engine started, expect 3D Roadmaps soon! Thanks to StuntKing! I can now give you up to 5000 per model!
//Edit: 23-11-07: Up to 10000 points per model.

I may try to do a building, but certainly not today, I think I can the day after tomorrow, though. I'll choose the building then

When is your deadline? Because I have school so I won't be able to have a result as quickly. Alos, do accept SketchUp?

If so, I'll do the twin towers.

I have much time, earliest release date would be february. However, the ealier I get everything the better
Also, as I mentioned in the first post update allready: major parts of the map changed, the style for each area will be the same (downtown, beach area, opera island, ...) but I think its faster and better, if I just do some models now and once I get around 10 I place them.

Rahi: Shouldn't be a problem, I have Deep Exploration which works fine with these models

If I will send you SketchUp model, will you be able to convert it to other formats? If not, look into Impakts modelling tutorial. It doesn't work for me, but it works for all of people I know...So I can help you...

the game has its own modelformat. But I have tools supporting more than 500 mesh and model formats - so i doubt I will have any problem getting a file to work
