will it be up today? :cc_detective:
I'm doing a 720p now that I think will come out without errors, still the 1440p is gonna take 8 hours and then the 1080p another 6 so I might put it up if I can get the 1440p on YouTube within a reasonable timeframe, if not which is most likely I'll post it tomorrow at dinner times.
Unless I hit another wall that is.

@Daffy:

Are you going for the 1440p one for own satisfaction and for the sake of quality only? I think there's maybe up to 10 (active) people maximum registered on GTAS using a screen with a resolution that high. Even those probably wouldn't download it as the file should be quite big. Depending on the video length though.

Is it worth going for the 1440p one if one only has a 1080p screen? Surely it'll have a higher video bitrate, but the video must be downscaled anyway.

You know how you want some of these videos from 2005/2006 to be at least widescreen or HD? they could've been.. it just wasn't the standard. Thats what Daffy is doing, providing an option that'll be a standard in the near future.

IMO VC is not worth watching in 1440p and not even in 1080p unless you are using allbeast's VC HD.

If you had a PC that could fraps and then render HD back in 2005 then good for you. I didn't.

Yes Beat I know that, but that didn't answer my questions.

If thats the question, then in my opinion yes it's worth it. Thats how "super-sampling" was born to replace AA in video games (which was very stupid), what it did was that it runs the game at twice it's original resolution or even four times it's original resolution and re-scales it to your native resolution and as a result you get superb quality that you don't even need AA anymore. But as I said it was stupid in video games because it's quite resource heavy to run a demanding game at twice your native resolution let alone four times your native resolution.

I figure the very same concept applies to videos, I'd say yes it's worth it even if you have a 1080p screen.

Recordings with something like 32x CSAA don't have noticeable AA issues, therefore the edges should look just fine and sharp in 1080p too. Downscaling could possibly improve the edges a tiny bit according to the super sampling model, but I am questioning it being soooo much better. Considering the file size being bigger, it might not be worth it to go for the higher resolution one. I assume it'd just look a little sharper due to the higher bitrate.

I understand why the high resolution would be desired  but it is not necessary. I'm pretty sure most people here wouldn't complain with a 720p or 1080p youtube link, and then told to wait a day for a 1440p download link. It's your choice though, but it's obvious that the higher the resolution, the higher the likeliness for issues, as 720p/1080p has minimal issues at the worst of times.
