Man it's a shame. Where are all the photographers? We should get another tournament going. I don't own a camera myself, but I can borrow a few from work, like a Nikon D50 or D80. They also have a range of objectives, but please don't blame me for not knowing anything special about that, I'm fairly new to this. Haven't shot many photos yet, but here are a few I did at a local flower shop in my hood, we also interviewed the owner for a project we're doing at work, the basic principle is to find immigrants who own a business and to interview them. Anyways, those were done with an 18mm objective I think and automatic settings.

I think the last one turned out pretty good, besides the quality is somewhat crispy, anyone have an idea why? Could this also be that the photos were taken with a higher resolution? I guess so, should try it out next time I get my hands on a camera at work.

It's not the camera it's the photographer most of my cams are really old film ones from the 70s , 60s
so it doesnt really matter what camera you use

Loved the old-ish look of Your photos torekk.
I'm also saving for an EOS 550d at the moment since my current camera isn't really the cream of the crop. Yet I think I managed to make some decent looking photos with it anyway..

You dont a good cam to do good photos. Thats kinda like saying you need a good amp/guitar to make good songs, not true

I do own a D-SLR cam, a Nikon D5000, was a special offer, actually a good camera for beginners just like me. I'm still struggling with photo editing since I only have little ideas on how to create a atmosphere with a picture.

That's because they were taken here in the Philippines, that's where I've been the last month
@Bobo : Thanks, man, means a lot to me. I really like that picture as well: got that focus right and I think going black and white on that picture really does create emotion and that was what I was going for. The puppies' right paw was cut off a bit though, but I don't mind it that much

You are right, there are so many people around me in real life that make photos with HD camera and think they are artists. It's a bit easier to become a famous photographer than a music artist, though im not saying photography aint art.
Good photographers have atmosphere, feeling, an urgent will to put it as your wallpaper. And some of the photos in this topic do, i really like the picture with fishing rod and the river between the houses shot. I dont like the clouds shot, it makes me feel like you just photographed a great nature phenomenon, not like you are making the phenomenons together to make a good photo. It's really hard for me to explain in english, as its my third language, but i hope you get it. Also sentitnes the dog was sweet! What about to comment my apples :<

Noah, I'm aware of this being your opinion but seriously... that's fucking bullshit. If you think photography consists of random objects and landscapes then you are like.. totally wrong. (Professional/Atmospheric) Pictures mostly relay more emotions than any filmclips or songs i've ever seen/heard and just because some suburban girls on your school are taking picutures of themselves and their expensive cameras infront of their mirror or testing out the macro-function on their fucking blowhard-sunglasses, it doesn't mean they have any clue of photography at all.
Just browse through some photographer-pages on deviant-art (as example http://a-t-i-s.deviantart.com/ (http://a-t-i-s.deviantart.com/)), i think that is barely comparable to the pictures the girls on your school took.
Whatever, I don't want to pick a fight so nevermind. ;)

photography is alot more complicated than you think
also I can show you pictures takes with old 50s film cameras that are 10 times better than ones shot with HD cameras.
