Title: Burn - Meditation II
Post by: burn on May 19, 2019, 01:16:25 AM
MEDITATION II

Welcome gtastunting ! I'm proud to present you the sequel to Meditation, edited by Herrarge and guested by Prog and Ktulu !

Nothing special to say about the video, this is the result of several cancelled collabs and unused stuff so you may find some fillers but also some really good quality stuff.

This video wouldn't have been possible without the help of Herrarge, shoutouts to him for the incredible efforts he put !

I hope you are about to enjoy as much as i enjoyed it.

Great mixture of AC, United and SA stunts once again. Since there are tons of stunts I will just review the three parts separately.
AC: The most dynamic part imo with this song and bigairs. Insanely huge infy stunts, but man those doublegrinds with those gap between the grinds..speechless. The thing is that you make these combos look easy and the fact you perform them so smoothly is candy for the eye. Only negative thing is that there were too many p2bs for my taste, but I got my yearly dose of bigairs so thanks. Also, I stunted about 1 hour in AC in my life but I managed to lost a spot to you!  1:05 is probably one of the weakest stunts in this part, but still  :P
United: Really liked the song in this part, it was building up nicely. Finally another vehicle appeared, and that monster truck grind was on point and those insane infy curbbumps delivered once again. The sandking jump2bump was cool as well, I wonder nobody thought of this before. Maybe some of these stunts were not possible in the older United? For example the thing you stoppied on at the pyramid was bugged earlier as far as I know. 6:00 is another great example of terrific terrain usage, amazing combo. And the finisher would be amazing even in VC and you just do it in SA engine, nice I guess.
SA: I was waiting this part the most. The song started strong and this was that 'classic' one what always makes a video for me. I'm amazed how you keep finding new stuff on such overused place, for example the opener. This part contained probably the craziest grindcombos so far, like the LS highway one, the freeway stoppie2curb2grind or the grind2bump2grind in LV. But the absolute favourite combo was somehow the long yellow fence grind2stoppie2grind for me. Knowing how slow grinds are in SA these kind of combos are near impossible but you just casually grind that whole fence, have the right angle to do a stoppie, near-miss that pole and grind the other fence too. I assume it was done with FL ON so that you could maintain higher speed on the first fence but still...such an overused place, I bet everyone has done that curbbump2grind before but nobody went on to connect it with another grind. These extras are what I love. The curbbump2bbbump2treeprec has to be highlighted as well, I don't want to imagine how hard that was to find the right angle/distance/height and prec it. And of course the finisher, crazy what one can do with near-perfect infy curbbumps. With literally zero runup you managed to land one iconic roof, good job.
All in all the video was well worth the wait, I found a few stunts that felt weaker than the rest but overall it was one serious video. I'm glad you found a great editor in the person of Herrarge who did a decent job. I guess it's not quite your editing style and song choice but you did well this time too. Thanks for the experience, on to Meditation III in 2029!

Great solo Burn everything was good

I remember i was trying 9:57 2-3 years ago, i even tried to take a packer to get on the grind to bump the angle at the end and land on the grind of the tunnel

Epic combo ! My favorite part was SA good job on landing that finisher  ;D

Edit are clean i was expecting a bit more effect but sitll enjoyable :)

Watched it already live in your stream. Watched it again now its a nice video. I like that clean editing. The stunts were sick. I saw you trying most of them while streaming. Nice to see them landed. Good job bro. :a-cheer:

Sick video Burn, as expected! :ajaja: Can't really comment on the AC part since I never tried that map but it looked nice, especially those grind combos. The United part was cool aswell, even though most of the stunts were landed in the VC engine (but I guess it's the same when people do SAiVC stunts so yeah), that monster grind was sick though! :ajaja: The SA part was mindblowing, those huge infernus bumps and of course those stylish grind combos were a real pleasure to watch, won't even pick a favourite since there are so many neat stuff in there! :cc_detective:

As for the editing, nothing too flashy just simple and calm, I think you did the stunts justice so good job! Was the song choice for the United part a reference to Touch Of A Samurai? :P

Also, the titles of each part suggest a farewell - are you retiring or just bidding farewell to Meditation?

Where the fuck is Herr-Dav' when we need him ??
Too bad the editing didn't reflect the quality of the stunts. Most of the cam angles were trash, it was painfull to watch.

Stunting-wise it was amazing to me, those grinds... I'm not even gonna complain about the olds. Your creativity is incredible. It makes me want to stunt again. Putain de merde... T'es le meilleur. GJ legend.

Even though I saw most of the stunts already in your live stream it was a really good watch. Props for finishing such a big project in 2019. SA part finisher was dope and the huge inf curb to bump in United was another favorite of mine.

Thanks burn, I needed that WH vibe this year  :a-cheer:

Something that every stunter should rewatch and remember - 1:34 double grind, 2:26 - grind combo 2 preci - DAYUM, 2:42, 1st part finisher, United's opener, 5:34, grind combo at 6:41. 6:53 - someone lost this as a spot in VC, United's finisher, Final Ride's opener!!!, THAT SANDKING POLICE BUMP FUCKING PRECISION, 9:54, GENIUS,  10:24 - how you come up with that OMG, the finisher. Hands down

i dont really care about ac/united but that monster leap to grind deserves a shout out

8:12 stunt of the video, that was just too good
+clown pocket drop bump, 9:52, 10:23 really great idea although the start felt too slow, 10:56

last two stunts are modded but apart from that good job

it felt like a worse version of monolith editing wise, should've just picked someone decent for sa part tbh, definitely killed the mood a bit

Streem, to be honest I didn't like you before but I respect you now. And I will never understand why 95% of this community are pussies, even when it's obviously modded vid and one stunt is enough to be modded vid (not to mention 90% of vid, for example Burn & Prog - Vandals), they keep repeating "Omg, omg you are the best" and none of them can re-land any of those stunts.

Great video man. Saw a few of these landings live already so some of them lost the oomph from me, but this was a fantastic project and I'm glad to see it released.

My 2 favorites were surprisingly both in Alien City part being the Double Grinds at 1:28 and 2:07. Really like these 2. Second one takes the cake if I have to pick a favorite however.
Sadly lost 8:12 and 11:09 but not too big of a deal. Some crazy air you got here too.

I don't think the editing was as bad as people make it out to be. It's very clean and I think that's what you preferred anyway so good job to Herrage, I think you did a great job.

Also, it's fucking pathetic people think pre-finished is modded. Popped tire changed that one so hard. I wouldn't have tried it if it wasn't for popped tire either.

Overall well done man. Keep it up!

i just read comments after watching and found that somebody even think some stunts were modded.. damn guys, i spend like hour or less on both and got close attempts, so i got for myself it's possible.
https://youtu.be/oDIg1QIh0eI <- video with my attempts.

about video, i just respect you burn, dude. you are the real stunta! i don't believe that stunts which i could never try in the past because it looked impossible, now are landed! stunting level changed for someone, but some are still  live in the past and have no clue about "kung fu" methods..
great video, thank you for one more good ride!
p.s. shout out to herrage for not bad editing, it fits with the first meditation imo, gj!

srsly, dude, i'm stoping this discussion right now, because it might take a long. but if you can't land it, it doesn't mean that nobody can land it. yes, we have little tricks and they are legit, as i understand you don't know anything about popped tire, so go and test it before say anything about modding. you are good stunter, but you are good in creative stuff, little stuff, burn for example good in big air stunts and he know the mechanics of game better than you if he lands stunts which impossible for you, just agree that. I'm glad that I stopped trying it to our leftover video. Otherwise, I was going to read another bullshit coming from you and your friends accusing me of stealing spots (that you never showed on your livestreams). And even if you showed, I don't waste my time watching livestreams. Understand that you're not the only and one in this game and the world does not revolve around you. People usually have the same ideas as others. Just another proof that you're always bullshitting when accusing me.

Anyway, good job on the final result. That drama already annoyed me and I hope you stop with this crap next time.

@on-topic
I was expecting an atmosphere like the first meditation, would be much better imo, its unique. But herrarge did a great job anyway, I never knew he was an editor, I thought he was only a stunter and skinner  you surprised me, good job man. Pretty nice and solid video overall.

Also, I'd like to say that PM enjoyed the prefinisher! ;D

I love you.

It's funny how people accuse me of modding and all them already got close on my stunts (or relanded them, like artifex and art did). I can't deal with those retarded sucking burn balls, I wish the worst for this community.

^ I keep my words. The community is ruined and I wish the worst to them. And its funny to see people landing my supposed "impossible" stunts, like artifex and art (for an upcoming video, I know you relanded one of my stunts).
This gang is a joke. And now they will come and share clips of stunts that I modded when I was modding everything in the past, trying to manipulate others to believe I'm modding in nowadays, typical. Acting like I never admitted I modded them.

It's disgusting to see people licking their asses and I already said it 1 million times, but I won't lie saying the video was bad, because it wasn't. We're not friends, I barely have friends on this community, but I won't act like such a biased person, like they always do. The video is good and I don't think it was modded. Props for burn and herrarge for that, I respect it.

I won't ruin another topic with this annoying drama. Now I understand why you're the biggest joke of this site Arnax
You wanted me to say that here? They already know my opinion about them and vice-versa. I wasn't wanting to ruin his video topic, but since you already did it and want a post from me, here it is! ;)

Have fun attacking others in the future answers, it should be a porn for you.
Do you really think that I care about your opinion on Burn, me, gtastunting or anything else in life? You are still not conscious that you served for my goal in this topic and I didn't even ask you for it.

Sorry you've had to deal with infantile bs to such degree, reason I refrain from even browsing here, much more posting regularly.

To the vid:
I am so glad you've been able to cap off and wrap it up one more time, a solo to be remembered, especially that SA part. Amongst your most complete works and the sheer versatility and quality make it one of my favorites ever[SA part in particular].

Specifics: AC has never been my cup of tea but having observed you attempt those spots I can appreciate the graft and so many of them are really stylish and appealed to me: P2B to smoking chimney early on, ramp to double grind, bridge ramp to grind then back to the bridge for it's fence grind, highway runup to bump to bonk off that building to the higher platform of the highway and the finisher ofcourse.

United part: Monster leap is a clear standout amongst the likes of P2B on that grassy hill with the ledge at the end of it, the massive P2B in the 2nd 'island' of LC, the incredible infernus double bump to the top of that building by the police station from the beach and the lovely backstoppie combo which I can vouch for in terms of level of difficulty to perform.

Regarding the SA part: I am going to have a difficult time picking favorites because almost everything worked and was fantastic. from Sandking precision to the FL ON grind combo near construction site and the car display windows in SF and everything else really.. such variety of vehicles and methods, fantastic grinds, car double bumps, natural bumps with bikes and combos. Kudos.

Editing I may have some reservations about and would probably cite it veered slightly too far from the original vibe of 'Meditation'. On second thought though, presentation style was nice[the texts and the scenic/cinematics before each part] and edit was to the point and didn't distract much from the stunting.

Damn, this community is pretty much already dead and you guys take your time to upset one of the only people who still have a passion for stunting nowadays with your petty arguments.

Stunting is a thing we all used to do when we were 12 and had the lifetime to dedicate to it. Most of us have other things to do with our lives nowadays and cannot be as dedicated to it as Burn or a handful of other veterans.

Enjoy the art and beauty that they can still, somehow, pull-off. Stay away with your negative crap, specially towards someone who doesn't do any harm to you.

I wonder why that is, could it be that passive idiots like yourself and co. wouldn't call anyone out on on the forums, instead talking shit on discord formerly skype between yourselves, effectively making this site a popularity contest and sucking each other's cock just just so you have imaginary feeling of having someone who cares about your miserable existence.

I can't comprehend how braindead can one person be, but once again that remains unchanged since years ago for your pack
Why would you callout km's modded wh audition and warfare beta stunts ? They don't do any harm to you !
Why would you callout corevil's gravity modded stunts ? He used to use sobeit all the time in old vids, but it's past, he surely is a LEGEND who got stunt of the year with his legendary slowitdown triple boost ! He doesn't do any harm to you !
Why would you callout the beginning of the whole failure daffy (who became an admin for some reason) who picked any retard around just to get 2part big air videos and give free passes to boxxx, dan, puzzle, gangstag, danio, km ? Boxxx and puzzle surely broke a couple of distance world records in vc, but who cares, they don't do any harm to you !

Why would you callout plani the retard who suddenly can't see a fucking perfect handling (xDD) in a video he's editing? He was just an editor and it was not his responsibility and he definitely didn't do any harm to you !

Firstly a big thanks for the whole live premiere thing; was initially a bit skeptical of it but turned out to be an enjoyable evening and it's nice to get a bunch of us together talking shit and enjoying videos.

Secondly, what a fucking video; you don't have to like/be a fan of the stunter/editor to recognize the amount of work and dedication that goes into a project like this, especially given the lackluster response you get with GTAS diminishing activity so well done to the both of you for seeing it through.

I would do a full review but SA has never been my repertoire and I'm not really keyed into big air physics however I will say some of those combos were mind blowing, my favorites of which would be the SA grind reverse stoppie to grind, the roof combo in United, grab to grind in LV and the LS reverse stoppie bump to grind combo; you have an eye for some ridiculous spots others would simply pass over or regard as being dead spots.

Editing wise I have no qualms with it, I know some others slated the editing but despite a few camera angles I would have changed up I thought the video was fluent, enjoyable and helped set the tone and pace for the stunts themselves. In my opinion it was pretty heinous to use the VAST song from TOAS and I know I wasn't the only one watching Meditation II but having the stunts from TOAS playing in my head - that being said it's your video and ultimately your choice so if you're happy with it who gives a shit  :cc_detective:

Solid video, well done to the both of you.

Although it didnít beat Meditation in my eyes, this was a nice watch. Props to you Burn for having the dedication of doing such a big solo in 2019. Props to Herrarge for the editing, which was clean and nice enough to make the video enjoyable. The only thing I didnít like was the soundtracks, but that comes down to personal preference.

As far as the modding accusations go, I know for a fact that all of these stunts are possible and, although some executions look a bit strange, the replay system itself is buggy, so I donít think thereís any problems with the stunts not being legit.

Thanks for the vid Burn and Herrarge!

Damn, this community is pretty much already dead and you guys take your time to upset one of the only people who still have a passion for stunting nowadays with your petty arguments.
Enjoy the art and beauty that they can still, somehow, pull-off. Stay away with your negative crap, specially towards someone who doesn't do any harm to you.

I'm very glad nothing is changing and you will still be delusional.

Why are you even including me in the skype/discord bandwagon while the only person from GTAs I talk to regularly is Xaero? I don't even interact with stunters anymore, and that has been like that for what, 6 years now?

It's not a popularity contest. In fact it is a dead game with a dead community and the fact that you spread this kind of BS as if we were in the 2008 golden age of Stunting is actually pretty sad.

--

Regarding the second part for modders, sure, I agree and I was one of the people who would call BS on stunters all the time back in 2007-2010. I don't do that anymore because I don't have any more time to waste. I see these videos as they being enjoyable or not. Burn could've modded something here and I wouldn't care, the video is still enjoyable.

I would have minded a shit lot if this was 10 years back because then I used to care. I don't anymore.

No need to be so dense towards me, I don't even think we ever spoke to one another so chill your tits cause I know for a fact that I don't care about this community as much as you do. You might be more passionate, but that doesn't grant you a pass to be an asshole to someone you don't even know.

Feel free to call out on my stance of not caring as much, but at least don't disrespect me as a person because you for fucking sure do not know anything about me. Disrespect my opinion instead.

I don't care about this community as I used to when I was younger, but I still like to visit gtas from time to time and  check out new vids/topics. San Andreas/Vice City stunting is "dying" because some children have grown up and do other things in life and those who were adults probably lost interest after so many years spent here. Now, some new kids play GTA V and this is understandable because it's popular, as well as GTA V stunting. It's a normal process of development for each gaming community.  The fact that community is "dying" doesn't change the community rules. I personally have nothing against Burn. I remember when Burn started to stunt. I think that one of the first collabs where he participated was "Tangente Universe" organized by myself, I invited him via MSN and he sent good and clean stunts. After he joined WH, I believe he felt the freedom to bypass the rules. Burn has skill, that's not questionable. I even like some of his technical/creative stunts but I know how easy is to mod big air stunts in San Andreas and the mechanism behind it. First they find impressive spot that's maybe possible, maybe not but after some attempts they realize that it isn't possible and then they lower gravity just a bit so they can land. If you drop gravity just a bit, it's unnoticed by observation. People after that try to land a spot, hit close to the top of the building or something else but fail each time to land, after some time they give up and then create an illusion inside their head how spot is possible and how someone is better than they are. These tricks can't pass in Vice City, and my selection is simple. Only those who are proven either in Vice City or in both games are real stunters. Everything else, especially big air stunts in San Andreas are under questionnaire.

How can I know that you won't drop gravity?
I could record in live, but since i see this kind of question i doubt if it's a point to do, even if i land it or someone else, you will say i might use something..
Another interesting thing is: Have you ever tried some of those spots? If you only see that stunt is weird (for you) in video, you have nothing to prove imo, maximum is say it's weird.. But impose your opinion is not right i think.
Why don't you ask another stunters this question, you don't know if they use something or not. Maybe you mod your little stunts somehow, but we don't know it, righ? We just believe and rely on our own experience. Maybe those accusations are starting from yourself, cause you don't believe in posibilities of this kind of stunts?
I don't want to say that in your words something wrong, i even gonna agree that it might be like you saying, but dude, seriously, stunting dead, 2019 here, what a point to old stunter like burn mod the stunt? To amaze someone? Pfff, who cares now? And i'm talking not only about burn, just all who still exist.
Stunting is the thing that you can do something that not all can do, it's even kind of art for someone, i'm sure you know about what i'm talking, that's why they are still here. All modders or kids, who stunted only for video to amaze how they do "sick" stunts are quit, i guess, old engine era is dead, but some olders who enjoy the real stunting are still here, for fun.

Firstly, I am not interested in taking such a degree of interest in those discussions, it just does not matter enough to me. Secondly, you're stating your opinion as a fact which is fine and dandy but are you expecting conversing or just blindly agreeing with you? I have called out plenty of people when I have felt the need to, I've never claimed to be an expert on the matter. I do not owe you a track record of accusing people to merit having a different opinion to yours. If you wanna go in depth about it without going all toxic on my ass then you're welcome to message me privately, but this is a pretty lame way of expressing a difference of opinion mate, pretty uncalled for hostility. Stunting is definitely not dead because of an influx of modders; it's just outdated, naturally. If you knew me you'd know popularity is one of the last things I am interested in, especially in this niche habit of mine. I do not have time to get into arguments on the forums. Look at how many I've posted the past couple of years on here and that gives you a good picture of why I don't regularly police people[besides this not being something I care enough or feel strongly about to do, I don't have the time to do it].

EDIT: To spare us the PMs back and forth I have decided to nullify the argument of 'wouldn't call anyone out on the forums'; Eventhough I refrain from doing so mostly, admittedly because I'd rather concern myself with other matters. Here are a few examples from the last few years through which I've been largely inactive to negate that:

I will add that I have not been a member of 'SSU' since 2012 and although I do keep in touch with them and do post in there, I do not think any further vindication is required regarding how combative or stern I could be about that stuff. Again, don't see why it's relevant but there you go. (https://imgbb.com/)

On the part of me being to aggressive in previous post I pretty much agree, there was no need for that and I apologize. Another caveat that should be added - I was referring to the causes of the current state of this forum and stunting in general and not any recent events as I haven't been browsing regularly since I left WH.
I don't really see how screenshots you provided disprove of you being passive about modding in the past, they seem more of a statements of a fact that there is a possibility with reservations that it's just your opinion, which make it even weaker.
Title: Re: Burn - Meditation II

It could only be my opinion, there is a whole range of modding, some clearer to naked eye and some take more discernment. Being I'm not an 'expert'.. I just don't jump into conclusions but I do in fact address issues I would have otherwise discussed privately aswell. No worries, I don't take it personal.

First of all I would like to state my honest admiration for the amount of dedication, time and perseverance it takes to create such a video. Especially in times like these, where many of us have practically given up on stunting. I feel I'm not the only one who experiences this feeling of demoralisation about ten minutes into trying any stunt. Stunting really, even if it is done in a single-player game, is a community experience, at least so it feels for me. The rampant deterioration of this website along with the pessimistic outlook of those who still remain is not helpful either.

Stunting:

As many have said before me, the first part in Alien City is hard to put in to perspective as many of us have never stunted in this map. That said, still there were many great stunts such as the various grind combos. A particular stand-out was the flag grind to grind with the 180 in between. That stunt was smooth, stylish and very pleasing to see.

The United part features some of the biggest stunts landed with the SA engine probably.  The quadruple back-stoppie to grind is such an obvious stunt and I cannot believe no one landed this before. I have seen you try the finisher multiple times on stream and I think this stunt really took some time to land.

For the SA part I think the Sandking police bump to precision could have sufficed for the finisher too. That stunt really amazed me. Good job on landing the Las Venturas airport tower naturally. I cannot help but feel that I lamed that stunt by stucking a chopper between the ramps. I honestly did not think the top part would be possible in this way. I tried it with a single bump to the lowest part and got close in this way. The double grind with the bonk in between was also one of the best stunts in this video along with the San Fierro grind to back-stoppie to grind. I occasionally try that grind just for fun, but it never ever occurred to me to even try this combination of stunts. The finisher is absolutely huge and admittedly it appears weird and unlikely to be possible, and I fully understand the concerns some people have over this stunt. These advanced hydraulics techniques and popped tires you have already shown many times what is possible to land nowadays and I believe it to be legit.

Editing & Soundtrack:

In terms of editing this video felt quite flat. The static camera-work and the choice of showing large parts of uninteresting run-ups contributed to this feeling. The occasionally there was an attempt to spice the video up with some effects, but it was like dropping Tabasco in swimming pool. There really was no dynamism, or clear regard of the soundtrack when it comes to the different sections of the songs used. It also felt like the order of the stunts in this video could be improved. Interleaving more of the technical stunts with the big air stunts would improve the video. I had no clear objections to the songs used, but I felt the particularities were not used in the video. Perhaps this is something you two agreed to, but I feels to me like it did not benefit the videos pace.

8.5/10

Lots of difficult stuff, it was really good to see stuns like 2nd part opener, LS autoban double grind, bonk 2 grind in LV, bw stoopie to grind after that turn - really fresh stuff l have to say, alot of big airs which l usually find boring but LV airport tower prec and the finisher were sick, looking forward for your best of  ;)

Those doublegrinds, backward stoppie combos, sandking stunts and infernus stunts were from another planet.  :ajaja:
I don't know why but packer 2 bumps have sadly lost their glamour for me since popd front wheels became a thing.

Props for perfecting that old school curbbump 2 grind spot in SF next to the construction site.

Editing was logical and clean so well done.

@ARS: Drop gravity -2 and you will land finisher.
it's bad that you know how to mod, but i got 140ft from this bump, if you really think its impossible i can reland special for you. :D
It's bad for Burn, you and others, because I know your little tricks and I know why Burn can't stunt in Vice City (especially big air).
srsly, dude, i'm stoping this discussion right now, because it might take a long. but if you can't land it, it doesn't mean that nobody can land it. yes, we have little tricks and they are legit, as i understand you don't know anything about popped tire, so go and test it before say anything about modding. you are good stunter, but you are good in creative stuff, little stuff, burn for example good in big air stunts and he know the mechanics of game better than you if he lands stunts which impossible for you, just agree that. Btw, about burn and VC it's a stupid proposition.
If you were blind, then you would not be guilty; but since you claim that you can see, this means that you are still guilty.

I love you.

It's funny how people accuse me of modding and all them already got close on my stunts (or relanded them, like artifex and art did). I can't deal with those retarded sucking burn balls, I wish the worst for this community.
Biel is on pillar of shame because he is coward.

Is that a bible reference im seeing, Arnax? John 9:41

Anyway, Burn, you're either the most dedicated stunter ot the most bored ouf of his mind person I've came across. It's 2019 and you're still kicking, punching, and stabbing the stunting scene. Much respect for that.

It seems that whenever you're in a video for the last couple of years burn, it always is a killer video. This magnificant solo is for sure one of the best videos ever and with so many monsters that I lost count.

Especially past the prime era of GTAS you have cemented yourself as the most dedicated, passionate and hand-down best GTAS stunter off all times.

Bonus points for using Airbourne in the soundtrack!
