WH Video Releases / Re: Carlord - The Best of Mewka (2006-2011)
« on: November 30, 2015, 03:59:01 PM »
That was awesome to watch. Great work Michał, keep rocking. (ke)

The title sums it up... you (along with SS as a whole) were the person that always seemed to nail the sweetest car spots back when I was starting out in '08. I believe your awesome Premonition finisher is the perfect example of this (and it completely deservedly finishes this video as well). However, your Crossroad stuff was my fave, and it felt great to edit those back then. Sure the standards might have shifted (in Grescha's favour :P ), but the feeling of dominance was there in this video. As Diaz put it perfectly before me

It's sad though that we hardly ever see videos like this these days but the fact makes it more special  :P

As for the editing, I really enjoyed it Tracker, thanks for keeping the BT spirit alive. It was very smooth, and even though I wasn't very fond of the music choices it was very suitable and put the stunts in the spotlight. The camera angles were also rather solid and fluent. That being said, I think you should have fine-tuned the colours a bit, as on a few stunts it was slightly too dark and made the vehicle harder to see.

And, last but not least, it's great to see that the SS logo in a video from 2015 - a really nice touch. While the way I parted ways with the crew was very untactful, I felt truly honoured to be a part of it for as long as I did, and it truly left its mark on GTAS. It felt really good to see Michu in this video (even though it's released stuff), is he still alive?

I also got reminded of this great video  :euro:

Aero Reapers Video Releases / Re: [SA]Aero Reapers - SILENCE

AR is probably the SA crew to follow, starting now. Amazing work guys, I'm speechless. The fact that something like this came out in 2015 stuns me.

I'll try to patch up a full review in a day or two.

Great stuff stunt wise - Promagic owned the video for me!

Nem, the editing was good for a rushed one. I have to admit, with all the heavy quake + blur action, I felt like I was watching a 2008 video - which is probably good since now I feel inspired to rewatch a lot of them :D

Feels so good to see that people are still positive about this one. It is the one vid I'll never delete from my Dropbox, so it will always be downloadable. When I want to remind myself of how great it felt to be involved with GTAStunting, I always choose this video to start with... can't even enumerate how many 20-min packets of my life were lost this way.

We will always be here! What's the good word Petar?

Well, to be fair, when I made this video, I was at a crossroad in life. I am at one now as well; almost as if I predicted September 2015 will be very exciting.

Apart from that, life's good. I'm finally getting some (well-deserved, I'd say) longer rest from university and work. Might even get back to editing videos - who knows. Are you still producing stuff?  :a-cheer:

One more question (if i can) to you WH boys: WHats your favorite stunter/crew?
Fav stunters are Aproxx (the usual story; he's the reason why I ended up doing so many grinds) and Plani (after seeing his Rebellion combo... yeah; simply the best stunt ever); fav crew is DV (I just remember being in my most productive days and just enjoying stunting the most while I was there, so perhaps that's why).

Video Editing/Compression / Re: Beyond Tomorrow [Editing Crew]

iKaoz, don't expect a lot of answers to your request. It's not that you are bad or hydra stunting is not so appreciated, but that BT has been really inactive for years  :(
There's also the issue of Video Editing/Compression becoming a sub-board and all the visibility problems arising from that.

Anyways, we're still alive. Some of us (not including myself) are active. But I figure it's better to ask people directly by PM for editing jobs nowadays.

WH Video Releases / Re: Alumnus - Diaz's Best Of

Diaz hogy vagy

It felt really good to see this released, I can proudly say I remember all of these stunts, and could roughly order them chronologically even. I knew you'd make it big at some point, ever since I first had a chance to get in contact with your stunts. I might try to make a fuller review later on, but I believe it would be redundant - you know my thoughts on most of these. Thank you very much for the special mention among all those special people - means a lot.

I have to say that, editing-wise, the video created way too much hype early on. The intro was truly masterful, but the main part felt slightly lackluster; the CC work seemed all over the place (especially in the moments when it suddenly switched from blue to red without any motivation from the soundtrack's side) and the camera angles seemed to have too much motion. Overall it was a satisfactory editing job, but I feel like it didn't nearly live up with the standards set for it by the intro. At least I think the outro had a very good and clean vibe to it, so the video ended on a high note in that respect. Nevertheless, I still think you're one of the few truly capable & active editors around here, so I hope you'll keep producing stuff - I'll be happy to watch them whenever they come.

Overall, I give a solid 8.5/10 to this video. The stunts are definitely worth a 9.5 though. Good job, Patrik.

Needless to say, I pretty much never did thick grinds after that one, felt like I've filled up my quota of wasted time.

Sorry for unnecessary reply in here yet again but I think it was fairly earlier than Kukiel pointed out. For instance, As One Again was released in 2006, RAD & Fugitive were already using it, I remember ExPlosion saying they were racing for the opener and Fugi 'ruined' it with FL:Off. :P
It was being used even earlier then that as I talked to Juan about it back in the day and he told me he al,ways used FL-Off.

On-topic: What's your favorite VC vid? For me it's Lagoon, everything about it is perfect.

Kaneda's Natch for me.

Shame on you for not remembering the greatest SA video ever made - Chapter XXIII by TMS. Uninstall right now!
Chapter XXIII was a very nice video, but for me it's not even the best in 2008 - GLS' Wergild was by far my fave from then. In terms of pure feeling (excluding the stunt quality) I think one of your productions in 2008 also takes the cake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiT4r74Ta6M - that was a real shocker for me editing-wise.

So, a question for other WHers, since we're already on this topic: what's your favourite SA video and why?

By the way, has anyone known anything about Herr-Dav'? When he said he wouldn't spent time in here anymore, he really meant it, he doesn't even lurk (at least with it account). I'm wondering how's he doing.
Good question, I'm interested too.
From what I gathered (and I did not gather much), HD is now a professional editor.
