Been a while
« on: December 23, 2018, 07:18:59 AM »
Can't believe it. It's been 10 or so years since I was last active. Forgot my password and have a different email to the one I used for this (hence the new account). It's late here in Australia and I've just been on a HUGE GTA youtube binge. It started with me watching a GTA SA walkthrough. Couldn't help but to suss GTAS and see what's been happening over the last decade!

I'll say it right now - the days were so good. 2004 - 2008. Such good times. The stunters I was inspired by at the time were Nitzkit, Daffy, Barney, Neo, can't think of anyone else right now. I'm sure I've forgotten heaps of legends.. I remember putting out my first video 'Antithesis' with USS - what a rush. Landed some dope bumps in that. Even though the stunts werent that good, I was super stoked to put something out with my own style. I always loved how there was always more to the art than just stunting. The music, the editing, the sparks, the bikes. Every little thing came together to become an expression. I remember leaving USS and joining TMS in the hopes of being in a bigger, more active crew. That was a crazy day for me. I started working my 2nd solo, Polygram. A collection of my favourite stunts and a few of my own. Just landing my hero's stunts was a thrill coz I was following their path - like a hunter in the night. I was in to metal at the time and was super stoked I used Dimmu Borgir - Progenies of the Great Apocalypse as the vid's soundtrack.

I remember Aries was admin at the time, I wonder what he's doing now. I think about what everyone's doing. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I think. There were so many characters in the day. Daffy was always good at editing and had a beast of a computer which is why his videos had probably the highest production value. What about Neo, the legend behind scripting dope sequences. Kingjad, one of me best mates from TMS with his radio show. Otsis! What a character. Barney, probably the greatest stunter ever. What's he doing? ZeroX and his rants 'BRING BACK THE DAYS! LOL' always laugh when I think of that. Xtramus, one of my first mates in the community and one of the nicest people from GTAS. What was the name of the dude who designed dope rides for everyone, was it Burnout or something like that. He made my signature green bike - what a legend. He's probably a mad designer working for BMW right now. I can't say dope ride, without talking about the Doperide series by WH. I put some of my best stunts when I guested in one of them. It was an honour to be a part of that.

And what about those amazing community videos we did. The one by Samurai (an absolute legend of the game) was made so well, also the one Tackleberry did was legendary. Watching the community videos really inspired me to get into the game. I knew I had to be part of the next ones. Watching these super long videos was always a thrill because you would wait to see when and how your stunt would be featured.

There were also some controversies in the day. I've never liked modders who say its legit but really isn't. I'm not gonna name names right here but there definitely 100% were people who deceived us and I was always first to call it out. Out of respect and love of the game. It was always obvious to me who was legit and who wasn't.
One thing I've wanted to clear up is that infamous packer bump both Daffy and I landed. I've read some posts and seen the confusion. Daffy shared that spot with me. I landed it first and showed him - out of respect. I told him it's going to be in my upcoming solo Polygram. He quickly puts out a vid and to my dismay he has also landed the stunt and released it first.

How about that GTAS money system we had. Good posts = points? Was it that? And you could also earn points by completing official challenges. I remember always checking for official challenges coz I wanted points to buy a dope ride. It was such a dope rush landing these and getting that money. I was so keen on this I would use my mates laptop in school and stunt during class to make sure I won. Good times. For real whenever I think of GTAS it just makes me feel so good to be part of this. Stunting is a huge lesson in perseverance and never giving up which is true for everything in life.

How about that feeling of losing a rep. That happened to me a couple times. The worst most frustrating thing.

I remember my g, Tackleberry helping me by editing my third solo 'Suspension'. Named after the time I got suspended by my school for a week. I spent that week stunting, having a good time and landing all the stunts I needed for the video. He did a dope job and I was super stoked with the video. Another video I'm super proud of is VC Stunt Reel 1 - I used Dream Theater - Hell's Kitchen and edited it myself. Whenever I watch that and hear that song it takes me back 12 years to when I made it. Such good times in life and good times in GTAS. The last video of mine I want to talk about is without doubt my best work. It was the collab I did with Daffy, Eddeman, Bloodyhook and Werewolf. Geronimo. I had been experimenting with the RAD method and FBI bumps around this time and realised by combing the force between the two things you could get insane air so I started trying to land on almost impossible things on big roads. That famous stunt which won me stunt of the year was the most amazing feeling I ever had stunting. I could not believe I landed at the top of that pillar on the bridge. So many things had to go right for me to land there and I did it. As soon as I realised I had landed it my heart was beating out of my chest, I was breathing hard just in shock. It was such a unique high I had never felt before and I was super stoked to put it out.

This post ended up way longer than I had expected, I was just gonna post something quick but I went down the rabbit hole and wrote it in a stream of consciousness way. Hope it reads alright.

I'll end this post with a few of my favourite videos:

That was a nice read man. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too! Don't want to sound mean or anything but I can't really remember you that well (mostly because I joined this scene in 08-09), so could you refresh my memory by posting some of your videos/videos you've been in? Thanks!

Hey dude! I also joined around the time you left so we have no connection but it was always great to see your name in older videos.
Just to help a bit clarify things: Aries appeared here last year, he even participated in a video and it was so nice to see such an old name appearing in a video again. Daffy is still here from time to time but he is more into PUBG nowadays. He still shows up to be motivational at times  I don't know a lot about TMS guys as the crew went to the hall of fame years ago but lately some of them turned up and we just hope we will see a new vid by them soon, maybe it's worth asking them  :P Barney still delivers solo of the year videos every second year, I wonder where his newest vid is. Xtramus and USS are still going strong, you might as well want to get in touch with them. Also, make sure to check out the newest Doperide vid (IV). It's terrible to think of it that the video is more than 5 years old by now, but it can still be new to you  :D
Thanks for the long post about your old stunting life. First, Geronimo is a legendary vid and I didn't even know you won the award with that fbi bumping stuff. Was that method introduced in that year or/and by you? And second, it was great to read your passionate lines about memories as old as 12 years. It truly proves that we may grow up but never forget about the golden days of stunting  :jajaja:

He literally wrote a bunch of vids he's done in his post. Are you illiterate?

OT: good to see you. All your vids are classics and your prowess at FBI bumps are what made me interested in learning em

I'm certainly not, but since I was busy at that moment and my life doesn't consist on finding the videos he mentioned, I thought it would be quite nice of him to post some links of his work If he revisited this topic, since everyone likes to show/share their work. But thanks for being useless once again Seikah.

I have made a first post in several years to comment on my friend's new video per tradition just now, and then I see this!

I started in 2006 when I was about 13 years old - I never knew you or played with you, but still I KNOW the name and the legendary videos you mention!

It was such a pleasure reading this post. Merry Christmas!
