Happy New Year! Here's some Session Skate Sim content from me
« on: January 02, 2023, 03:14:59 AM »
Hey guys!  :ninja: Happy New Year to all of you. I hope life is treating everyone well.

I wanted to drop by and share something I recently made. I started a little youtube channel for Session Skate Sim content (and perhaps some other stuff). It's just a creative outlet for me to try different things and have a bit of fun. Not sure how many of you here on GTAS are into skating but I am for sure. Been doing it for "real" for the past 20 years or something. My GTA videos were always heavily inspired by skateboarding tricks so this Session skateboarding game is pretty much a dream for me! I used to play a lot of EA Skate series as well, but I feel like this game is a whole new level.

If you want, come drop by my channel and say whats up.  :ninja:

Welcome back! "SA, My Way" is still a major inspiration for me after all these years, as are your biggest videos :euro:.

I don't play Session but I thought this was great! Silky edit, the sound FX and mix were just right - I wish stunt videos would try things like this ;D.

That's cool. I always loved watching EA Skate vids. Nice to see a more realistic skating game with ( I guess ) a lot of recording capabilities.

I still can't get into Session and Skater XL, despite all the great things they have going for them. The animations are just too clunky for me, but one thing that stood out as being very proper looking was seeing the truck jiggling around during a tailslide (or maybe it was a switch noselide, etiher way). I can only play Skate 2 nowadays because I literally wore out my Skate 3 disc from playing it so much. With all my badmouthing about the game itself aside, the camera work was exquisite. The only thing missing was the filmer marking the clip with their hand after the ender.  :P

I get it. In one aspect the game has the best looking tricks/animations I've seen in a skate game but at the same time some aspects of the game can be super janky. But I think you can kind of push it with your own gameplay to look as realistic as possible (if that's what you're going for). I do hope the developers smooth things out even more, especially gameplay off the board and throwing your board down etc. Looking at skate 2 and even skate 3 clips now it just looks so arcade'y to me, I can never go back!

The hand-mark would be a neat VFX to add for sure! Maybe in the next one ha! Thanks for watching.

Thanks Jason! Session has an incredible replay editor, that's like an essential part of the game.
